Since switching to Lyft, I no longer have to worry about possible “accidental” charges, or charges that have to be disputed on a very regular basis. I haven’t had to wait 15-20 minutes for a driver that decides to pick up someone else, leaving me waiting for another car. Many of the Uber drivers I had were nice, but I unfortunately the longer, more expensive rides , the drivers were rude, had disgusting cars that always seemed to have some type of mechanical malfunction happening. Uber drivers will take the call, and then take the longest possible route, or just go the wrong way, and whenever I have tried to suggest something different because I know where I live, I’ve had drivers respond in unacceptable ways. They seem to think that what they are doing is a favor for the rider, to a degree it is but I am paying for the ride, and depending on the time of day, I have paid ridiculous amounts to literally go 4 miles. The Uber drivers will push your pick up time, so that you have to ride in “peak hours”. Uber also has issues with overcharging, charging for a service multiple times, and obviously does not pay its drivers enough. I had sworn off car services, until LYFT, it’s been great, the drivers have all been amazing, clean cars, the drivers pay attention to traffic and get you to your destination as quickly as possible, and drive very safely. RIDE LYFT!!!!! ❤️❤️

As a pregnant working mom, time is very important to me. I typically schedule my rides anywhere from 2hrs-24hrs before I need them. In the last week alone, I’ve had drivers cancel on me multiple times AFTER making me wait between 10-30 mins for the ride. And mind you, I SCHEDULED these rides way in advance. So not only am I getting picked up well past my latest estimated time of pick up, sometimes I can’t even find another ride AFTER being cancelled on. With my last scheduled ride, the woman waited 10 mins in one place after finishing her trip before mine, very obviously trying to force me to cancel. When I didn’t she drove within 2 mins of my location and then cancelled on me! I waited over 35 minutes just to be left stranded. There should be a way to report these drivers. I was left pregnant and alone outside after 10PM without another ride available to me. Normally I would just try to catch a bus, but it was so late that the buses weren’t even running. I ended up having to switch to Uber and “luckily” I was able to find one less than 20 min away but that meant I didn’t get home until an HOUR after I had scheduled a Lyft to pick me up. (I live only a 7 min drive from my pickup). This week alone has made me rethink using Lyft altogether because I have yet to run into these problems with Uber in the last 6 months.

I traveled for the first time to Austin, TX to visit friends, but due to a death in the family, I needed a Lyft after coordinating a hotel. The Lyft app indicated to go the Main Terminal, Red 4. The Austin Airport has signs indicating where to go for ride shares, so I followed those since there was no one at the Information Desk in the baggage area. The pick up area based on the airport signs led had signs indicating letters of the alphabet. I sent text message to the driver to advise me to where to wait since the folks I asked outside didn’t know where to go either. Eventually, an airport shuttle driver told me to go to the parking garage and to ‘follow the yellow cones’. I saw a sign indicating that I was in the red garage and snapped a photo of the sign because the elevator only went to level 3. Eventually I found a another worker in the parking garage who told me to go to the second level and near the letter J. There were cones there for ride shares. On the pillars, there were red numbers for Lyft on one side and blue on the other side for Uber ride shares. Nothing indicated ‘main terminal’. I disputed the $5 fee for a missed ride since the driver Vitali never responded to my text messages. The Lyft app said it would refund me, but it would take 5-7 days, so it remains to be seen if I’ll actually be refunded. I think the refund should have been instantaneous.

The driver I had on Thursday morning was exceptional she was everything you would want very friendly on time, and very personable. I would use her anytime. Today’s experience however left a lot to be desired; the original driver that was to pick me up, was not what I expected. If I could give you a little feedback in regards to your company. I would suggest that you ask the people that are signing up for your service if they have any sort of permanent disabilities that would hinder them getting to your car in a timely manner, or anything along those lines. I had knee surgery back in July and I’m still recuperating but I can move around without any kind of apparatus. I gave my flight number and the times it was expected in and obviously no one checks to make sure they’re on time. So we got in there in plenty of time, got my baggage, and then went outside. I was actually outside when she drove off. I received some sort of notice either from you or from her that she couldn’t wait any longer the flight times were between 140 and 150 I was outside at 1:53 and she drives off??? Telling me she can’t wait any longer. I tried calling her but the call would not be accepted by her. I then had to turn around and order another driver who was probably built one of the best drivers I’ve ever had. He gets 5 stars from me and is the only reason I would use you guys again. I have a background in customer service and this is where she is lacking.

Sometimes issues arise basic clicking on choices provided can’t fix. I had an issues recently with a driver and cannot get in contact with anyone. A 25min drive took and hour and 9 mins. He accept the ride and it appear I was in the vehicle when I wasn’t for at least 8 mins. I called several times to get in contact with him but he kept dropping the call. I had no choice but to wait for him until he was finished doing whatever because I could see he drove off the premises. When he initially pulled up I saw him and I was about 10 feet from the car waving him down and he just turn away and kept going. He wasn’t following the directions on the Lyft app. I had to physically point out the directions to him even though he and I had the same directions on our phone screens. He kept speeding almost ran multiple lights. Several times he stopped the car past the line and past the lights even, the care was under the lights. We just needed up in the middle of the road. He seemed confused wasn’t paying attention. I wasn’t in any imminent danger. Even the app knew the trip was taking longer then normal but it gave an option on contact emergency only or if I was okay. Yes I was fine and wasn’t in any major danger but other options would have been good. Like to get a call from Lyft checking in if something seemed weird. Initially the ride was suppose to be $18 dollars and ended up being over $40. What am I suppose to do now? I here is the help?

Generally great service, but the app consistently misrepresents how close drivers are and how long it will take to get to a destination. Most recently, the app showed a countdown timer to find a driver, then when it ran out said Just a few more seconds for a period of minutes, then said 2 more minutes, then after 3 minutes I cancelled. I understand if it's difficult to provide an estimate, but failing 3 times in a row to deliver on a claim just makes me want to use Uber.

I am starting to see a pattern with the ride share apps. I've already uninstalled your competitors' app. I tried to cancel a ride that I just booked. I get a message telling me that I will be charged a $1. There's no reason to do that. I wanted to cancel because you picked a driver further away. Instead, of someone closer. Customer service is not like it used to be when I first started using the ride share apps. If things continue to get worse, I will be uninstalling the Lyft app as well.

This app will get you there, but it is very frustrating in certain situations. Over and over again, whenever there's heavy traffic, the app will tell me the ride is 2 minutes away, for 15 minutes straight. The app also plugs into something like 12 different expense software platforms, but it will not under any circumstances simply email you a receipt.

The freeze on payment screen is a fraudulent way to upcharge customers on rides. I notice that when I select an affordable option and then try to pay the screen freezes. I then have to go out of the app and come back in to a price hike of $2.50 - $17 for the ride. When I googled to find out if it was just me I found that other customers experience this too.

The pick up location I put where I live needs to be updated. When I input the pickup location which is the address to the main office in front of the complex, the map shows the driver to go through the exit gate which there is no way to enter unless a car is leaving. It is very frustrating when drivers are clueless to the exit gate and are messaging you that they cannot get in. Stop routing drivers in ways they and I have no control over. Even setting a pin doesn't help.

Don't bother trying to get a "wait and save", just wait for the fees to change yourself as it has a good chance of being ignored by drivers that are supposedly 4-6 minutes away. Don't spend the extra for price lock, it just deters drivers. I just spent over 2 hours for a "45 minute wait" that never even got picked up. Then they'll try to charge you a cancellation fee when you decide to finally give up. No support, just revolving FAQ bs. 2 stars only because most of the drivers are great.

I'm writing here because there's no way to provide generic feedback in the app, only their preselected options. After waiting 5 minutes for a driver when told 1-3 and the message saying a few seconds more for several minutes, it popped up an offer to pay about 50% more to get a driver assigned in 6 minutes. They clearly put in lower time estimates when busy when busy and hope you'll just wait.

Extremely unreliable. if you order a wait and save, it will be their in 3 minutes. but if you order standard, it will take 10+ minutes. Don't have timed options if you're not going to follow them and waste our money instead. Terrible hiring standard, as well. A 10-minute drive should NEVER cost $20. That's just disgusting. And on top of everything, they have upped their prices 3 times in the span of the 6 months I've been using this app.

You can't see the pin on the map to choose your pickup spot anymore. It is completely covered by driver info and stupid ads filling the screen with no way to minimize. Also there is no way to report issues in the app - only options are the driver did something wrong or the customer did something wrong. Nothing about how the app is working or not working. Very poor customer service. Drivers are usually great though!

I heard about lyft and found out that it is cheaper, but almost 99.9% of the time, you sit there finding a driver with every single time it cancels your request out of nowhere. Uber is a way better app then this, drivers are plentiful and helpful, not to mention you don't wait long most of the time, and your request isn't canceled out of nowhere.

If you have to use them regularly to travel back and forth to the same place (work for example) they gradually just raise their prices higher and higher. What used to cost me $6 is now $16 a year later. They track the locations you travel to and how often and start gouging you at the times you would normally need to go.

I only use the app because I have to. I rely on it to get to work. Almost an entire half of each paycheck goes to this app and it keeps getting more expensive. it's at least better than uber. but this app is the worst part of my day and life. it literally makes me want to end it. and it KEEPS GETTING MORE EXPENSIVE. and the drivers arent even getting paid more. they need to halve their prices and it wouldn't affect the company at all. this app WILL be the end of me.

It seems everytime I use this app recently I'll order priority and it says within a set amount of time and I put in confirm request which always changes to a new price even if I just change which card I'm using, and then gives me a driver double the time away and says that's the closest driver in our priority service. Just tell me you don't know how long the drivers will take and don't offer priority anymore. Its ridiculous going forward I'm just going to pay the extra dollars and use Uber.

it's a great app until you need any kind of help. that's when you really see what a scam of a business Lyft is. drivers don't match their profiles. will try to run transactions multiple times to get as much money as they can. HAS NO HELP CENTER WHATSOEVER. just sends you in circles until you are too frustrated and give up. I'M ASHAMED I USED THIS APP FOR SO LONG AND EVEN GAVE IT TO MY POOR MOTHER. LYFT SHOULD BE EMBARRASSED!!

I don't like their new tactic of sending you two to three pop-ups offering you to pay more to expedite a driver. and if you don't select that option then you wait about 20 minutes for a driver, even though you see them on the map. It shows that there are obviously drivers available but they are trying to exploit passengers.

Completely unreliable. I've had multiple drivers cancel on me, multiple drivers who were nowhere to be found, and strange fees that appeared on my account. The app has also tried to charge ME "no show fees" when the drivers were the ones who didn't show. It is a completely unreliable system and I do not recommend it if you want to get somewhere on time.

lyft forced an upgraded ride on me. I selected standard, they upgraded to comfort, my ride was $16 before the upgrade, and $19 after the upgrade. If I had been offered that upgrade, I would have taken it, but I didn't even get a chance to decline. It isn't the price I fare about. It's the principle of the matter and Lyft being dishonest with its practices. Lfyt can keep the $3 extra dollars and the 1 star here.

Did not show estimated time or pickup location until after cancelation fee applies. Did not have accurate instructions to location, and did not allow nearly enough time to get there. Driver refused to answer 3 calls and 1 message. Never responded. We were charged a cancelation fee. Not only was a refund denied ... there isn't even a way to request it! "10 minutes away" took 5 minutes, and the app didn't tell us which floor to be on in a 3 story airport garage ...

Wouldn't let me request a ride without forcing me to sit through what was basically a timed add promoting their "more comfortable" rides. The only way to get through it more quickly was to pay extra for a ride I didn't need. At the same time, the app kept losing connection (wasnt having trouble with anything else on my phone), which caused me to accidentally select the wrong drop off. Changed the drop off location only 2 minutes into the ride and got charged for a whole new ride.

Lyft 'corrected' my destination multiple times, and now I'm stuck going to the wrong airport terminal. To fix this, they want to charge me the price of a second ride. I've been trying to contact Lyft for 20 minutes, but there is no ability to do that. I called, a robot told me to chat in the app and hung up. The chat in the app does not work. It seems Lyft cannot possibly imagine that their app could cause a problem.

I don't know if it's the area I live in or what, but I have had multiple terrible experiences with this app. One was during a large concert and I thought, okay, they were just overwhelmed, but just now on a normal Saturday morning, I watched my driver drive right past me without even thinking of stopping and it was taking forever to find a new driver. Even when working well, wait times are very long even at the priciest option. Quicker and easier to bother friends for a ride.

I'm having issues leaving a custom tip - especially when I don't do it right away and I have to go back through history and try to add tip later! I hit custom tip, and then key it in and then save and it doesn't work! The only working option is to select one of the pre-defined tips! $2, $3, $5 or $0! In this case the ride was $8 and I don't feel like tipping $2 which is 25% as the minimum tipping amount! The custom feature tip does not work! This has been going on for several months!

You are losing money, Android phones like the LG k30 do not accept a destination the keyboard disappears. You're at may have been hacked I have uninstalled and reinstalled still with the same problem. I prefer to use lift but if I cannot put in a destination I cannot use it. I thought you should know. This app was so simple to use I cannot just pin some destination on a map that's the only option I have at this point. Sorry I will have to switch at this point to another app

UPDATE: The limited availability option has become much more frequent and eventually I never get a ride. Probably have to wait 15-20 mins. Lyft was great in the beginning. I used them all the time. Then, I started seeing these limited availability options pop up. It takes forever to get a car and I eventually cancel the ride request because I just can't find a ride.

The app does not update the pricing after first getting a quote for a trip so 2 minutes later when I ordered the ride they increased the price by almost 3X ($23.99 to $60) without ever telling me about the change in price. It wasn't until after the ride that I noticed this absurd price jump. The app makes it extremely difficult to get support and speak with someone. When I was finally able to do so I was told to hold while they looked into the case 4 separate times and was ignored every time.
