5 stars for the originality, the "feel" is very different and very customizable, lots of styles and variations to choose from can make playing challenging without spending up, the sounds are functional, room for improvement : 1. the chord font is hard to read, I can see the artistic choice of the font, it represents what the app does, but priority should be for readability, or at least give the user the option to choose. 2. The editor can use some features like copy and paste. 3. Auto transpose
Works great on my Pixel 4a5g! This is a jazz oriented, blues capable, and worth some learning, probably other gerne supporting app. The sound quality is quite good for practicing but the loops repeat verbatim, without variants, so it would get boring in a live situation without at least a second or third instrument, or am I missed it? That said, the poly timings are great if you're into complex timings. There aren't any other apps I know of that do this. For the price, it's a bargain, IMO.
This is one of the best play along apps. The sound and variations are close to a human rhythm section. It is fun to exercise with it. With early versions (after major new features were ported to Android) I had observed stuttering and eventually stopping after 2-3 choruses. Thus, it became useless for me. These problems have vanished since updating to a newer version (I am currently using 9.7). If you abandoned the app due to similar problems, it's time to re-consider it.
Almost perfect! There's a few rough edges but this app has the makings of a killer play along app.
Built it, love it — 5 stars to the app, and even more to all of you for the support!
Y'all really need to update this app. Your system is amazing, I came from ios and just got an Android and it absolutely sucks you can't create song on here, like come on. It'd be amazing to get to do that again. I look forward to when that happens! Seems you guys have been delaying it for two years, I love this app. But mainly for writing, I'll be waiting till then. Update: very glad you guys updated the android version!
The bass sounds so much better already after the 8.4 update! The bass notes are still too short though... and maybe add an option to add some reverb? <3
Really good app, i enjoy playing with it more than with ireal. However... 1. I wold really have the option to transpose the song on every reppetition. 2. Its still buggy. It keeps crashing on my phone (samsung galaxy a22). If you fix i'll go up to 5 stars.
Glitchy as hell and very slow to open tunes. It might sound better than ireal when it works smoothly but it's nowhere near as reliable. Going back to ireal. UPDATE ...I don't know if it's the update or because I'm now using it on a different device, but I'm happy to say it now seems to be working much better. I just wish there was an easy way to send a song to a playlist. If it had an option in the hamburger menu next to the songs, it would be perfect 👌ðŸ¼
The rhythm and harmony features of this app are outstanding and it has become a regular part of my routine. However I have a few recommendations. 1. The quality of sound is poor but a little reverb would fix that. 2. I would like to be able to share user songs between devices. 3. Enable charts to display number notation during play back. Anyone who comes along and combines the features of iReal and Genius Jam Tracks will steal the show.
A bit rigid and lack of some basic functionality such as playlist etc.. I tried to set up the transportation to Bb in the settings but I still have to it for each song. I personally find it uncomfortable to play with. If I had to buy it again I wouldn't.
Pretty barebones but the polyrhythm feature is nice. You also have to wait for it to connect every time you load up the app which is kinda obnoxious. Even if you download items you can't get to them until the initial connection is done.
Would love to see advertised features brought to the Android version. Maybe if you were more transparent about why features are brought to iOS and not Android, people would be more understanding. It's really frustrating to deal with an inferior app due to the smartphone platform I use (and one that has a much larger install base compared to iOS). It would be great to know WHY it's so difficult to bring these features to Android when the features don't seem dependent on phone architecture.
This app is very buggy, has a thoroughly average interface, is not particularly user friendly, lacks support and community, and generally just has its issues. Conceptually however it's still strong. It really is a logical extension of iRealPro and I'd recommend it to any serious jazz musician. Just a shame the product is so poor. Hopefully it will get ongoing quality of life upgrades in the future.
For an app that is so expensive it has lots of glitches. It's hard to practice in time when you have a hiccup in the playback. It freezes up and crashes more often as tempos increase. The features that are intended to fine tune the backing track just wind up over complicating it. This is especially 0 of the drumset midi.
From Nigeria always get network not available. Although i have a very valid and fast network connection, the application always gives a message of network not available. I think you have a racist discriminating network setup that prevent the application from working at all in west Africa, but not for getting the €5.99 of the one time payment. All in all useless until maybe when i go on leave in France or Italy
Non-returnable, non-refundable. This app is great on iOS and dramatically less robust on Android. All the demos on Youtube and online have features that are NOT available in the Android verrsion. Had to block payment because Google will not allow me to get a refund.
I normally don't write reviews but I think it's B.S. that most of the cool features you see in the demos on youtube aren't available on the android version and they conveniently forget to mention this anywhere. [edit] replying to jamtracks comments... Sorry bro but the lack of features in the android version should be documented HERE, not on youtube. I DIDN'T BUY IT FROM YOUTUBE. My review stands...
Same as the previous review, hard to practice when there are glitches in the backing track and it goes behind in time. Consistent time hicups, unusable. Version 9.8
there is too little content ! cannot create nor import tracks ! cannot edit existing tracks ! the polyrythm feature is great but not letting me having my own progressions really misses the point of jazz
