Upgrading my Apple devices to iOS 14.3 resolved ALL of my previously issues with Bose Connect. Subsequent to the update to 14.3, the app works flawlessly the very first time I started it up; it immediately paired with my first Bose Soundlink Resolve, effortlessly found and paired with my second Soundlink Revolve (to enter Party Mode), and even the stereo mode fired right up. I have now used Bose Connect, from full start-up, on 5 occasions without any of the noted operating issues. I am really pleased with the outstanding sound quality of my Bose Soundlink Revolve, so I was exited to discover that Bose Connect could effortlessly pair multiple Bose devices (Just like Sonos, right? WRONG!). I purchased a second Soundlink Revolve, installed Bose Connect and have had nothing but problems since. Thinking my new iPhone 12 may be the problem, I installed Bose Connect on an iPhone 10. Same exact problems experienced. The Connect app is an unmitigated DISASTER. The app interface has a simple, no frills design that displays seemingly easy illustrations to pair and engage “Party Mode”. I just doesn’t work. In reality, you are lucky to get even one Bose speaker to operate. If you can actually get Party Mode to engage, one or both of the speakers produce audio cut-outs or stuttering. It gets much worse if you engage stereo mode. Is this the best Bose can do to support the interoperability of it’s fine speakers?
Purchased the QC35II in February of this year, the Bose connect app at that time was limited in it's functionality for the QC35II Headphones. When linking the headphones to the app this literally snuffed or bricks functionality on the headphones previously advertised when purchasing. I could not adjust the application of noise cancelling via the on device buttons, not adjust phone call or voice settings. I am very glad that Bose has since improved the iOS Bose connect app to allow QC35II owners to have full control on their headphones functionality. I can now adjust the voice over prompts to be off, and change the Voice Command Button away from being for ALEXA or GOOGLE, to now be exclusive for changing Noise Cancelling Levels from High, Low or OFF. I can now control the headphones simultaneous (self)voice playback feature to mute or off, which has been an anonyance of mine especially when using my headphones for ZOOM, DISCORD, or GOOGLE VOICE sessions when connected via Bluetooth on my desktop (Windows 10). Seems that Bose has been listening to customer reviews and criticisms. Thanks Bose for the important improvements. 5 stars from me for resolving these issues.
I am an older professional male who has own a previous model of BOSE headphones and I took it for granted that other manufactures had similar products......so I tried to own and enjoy the SONY 1000 series headphones. After one day of use I was relieved that it had troubles connecting to my iPhone because I was able to return them without a restocking fee. Here is why I was relieved. The 1000 series Sony have HORRIBLE sound when making or receiving phone calls. BOSE connected immediately and allowed me freedom to walk away from iPhone so I didn’t worry about becoming untethered at work by walks up to 20 feet away. This is a BIG thing for me since I wear them all the time during calls. Yes microphones are in the headset so I can continue conversations with my phone left on my desk. The connection to SERI (sp?) is also on the head set and it also allows me access to the internet while away from my hand held iPhone. THAT IS HUGE. I even choose to pay extra for the Rose colored headphone since it is readily identifiable...for obvious reason regarding sticky fingers. Tone is fantastic. Relieved/grateful is my word to the engineers who designed these units.
Been using Bose products personally since 2008. I had a Bose 321 surround sound which was my first experience and it will always be memorable because the sound quality was unbelievable!! I remember having friends over to watch the Steelers game and everyone being amazed at the fact that we could hear the wind blowing through the system it literally picked up every sound and the music quality is another story and always got me in trouble with my neighbors lol!! Now I only have the soundsport earbuds and they are good quality and comfortable. Also their products last and are worth the price and I had an issue with the surround sound and I called them and they couldn’t fix over the phone so they replaced the whole system at no charge at most maybe to ship it back but I can’t remember it’s been so long but I am positive that I didn’t pay a penny for the system replacement itself. Bose never misses but the app could use some upgrades like maybe include an equalizer and actual artist album artwork etc but overall it’s a good start.
Just be certain you have the correct App. If you're location is OFF it won't sync but only sometimes and other times you'll have to manually turn on nearby device. 3/12/25 Also, when you sync up Main Bose Speaker (I have two for Party Mode) you sometimes have to depress the Blue Tooth logo on device otherwise Party Mode should sync up. I use one speaker for a turntable and am trying to add the other Bose speaker into Party Mode but, haven't been successful. Will try again soon
This app is helpful if you want to customize the awesome features of your portable Bose speaker(s). I'm a loyal customer when it comes to Bose products. I trust that paying a bit extra for Bose quality is something I won't regret. However, when it comes to the app, it feels kinda clunky and bloated with the "loading" times and general confusion when it comes to "party mode" if you own more than 3 eligible speakers. It's not a deal breaker but, cmon bose! 🤭
The sound quality is top-notch. the build quality is sleek and robust. I would like to give my QC 35II a 5-star rating... except it's glitch when I transition from my phone, my laptop and my TV. For whatever reason, it's not connecting automatically when I click "connect." I end up re-booting the headphones at least twice a week. It's extremely frustrating! C'mon, Bose. I know you can do better than this. I'm about to get the Sony equivalent just to avoid this hassle.
The Bose App works as intended. If you have noise cancelling headphones like the Quiet Control 30 it is especially nice because you can easily dial up or down the level of noise cancellation and see a visual graph. You also use this app for firmware updates. This area needs improvement because the process is very slow. Firmware update needs to be redesigned because you have to have the app up and running plus the headphone turned on and in range for the app to transfer the data into the phone. After data transfer to the phone is complete, update to the headphone is fast. What needs to happen is once the data starts transferring to the phone you should be able to turn off the headphones and the data should keep downloading to the phone until complete. Then the next time you turn on the headphone the data should transfer from the phone to the headphone. Currently you have to leave the headphone on for the data to download to the phone. This is a slow process and a pain in the you know where. If you turn the headphone off during this process the data stops downloading to the phone. It will pick back up when you turn the headphone on.
Thank you for updating your app. For those new to this app, before it never worked. We could never get the devices to sync with the app. Now, it works wonderfully. I was amazed to see the device getting an update. For those complaining that it takes forever, chances are you were early users of these devices and since they never did updates before you're getting them in one massive data dump!
This has gotten worse ever since the update which disabled the ability to turn on speakers from your phone alone & connecting while also making it so much more difficult to even get connected to a single speaker. It's frustrating as when connecting my speakers to start party mode, one speaker will just completely turn off after getting connected to party mode. Meaning to turn that on back on i have to plug into a charger because it acts like it's completely dead even with a full charge.
I've got two of these speakers, but I'm trying to connect them in party mode, and it takes the an act of congress to get them to work together. One speaker is about a year older than the other. One has voice prompts, and the other does not. The older speaker with the voice prompts connects much quicker than the newer speaker. Itit'ss a PITA.
The worst buggy app. Works sometimes, other times it doesn't. Always crashes after it opens. Sometimes it won't connect to the speaker. I always hope the next update will fix the bugs. Nope it never gets any better. Android 9.0 on a Moto G6. Are you listening Bose development team?
Ive been using this app for nearly a decade. 90% of the time, the app will struggle to connect to speakers, especially if one is linking more than 1 speaker. App crashes and drop outs are constant. There are very limited controls as well. No EQ for instance, and as bose boost the bass across the board, there isn't any way to lower volume to avoid bothering apartment neighbors or have noise bleed into other rooms in a house. Return your speakers asap if possible.
There's no way to disconnect a device from the app - you have to disconnect from the device. The app only connects to 2 devices and sometimes you don't have physical access to the other device. For ex, I have a 2 cells, a laptop, and tablet. If connected to a cell and the tablet, but the tablet is at home and I'm at work, I can't connect with the laptop. This app should let you drop devices!
I was able to download the app, establish an account, and use party mode when I first got my speakers. But the app signed me out, and when trying to sign back in, I am getting a page of 3 documents to agree to. I click the radio buttons, also open the docs, and find myself with no way to navigate off the the page. Dead in the water, now unable to sign in, and reinstalling the app did nothing to help.
Impossible to find serial #. I was prompted, in several areas, to download the Bose Connect App. Then I was instructed to go to settings>product info>serial #. None of these were options. I always keep detailed info on the products I purchase. I like nice things but unfortunately people also like to take other peoples nice things. My Quiet Comfort 35 headphones were stolen. Without the serial # I don't have a case. I loved them briefly. I would think Bose would be more thorough. Disappointed.
Maddeningly inconsistent auto-connectivity to devices. You can only have two devices connected and when you turn one off to connect to another you have to turn on, it frequently crashes or just gets confused and I have to play whack-a-mole with turning things on and off to try to get the connection. It's been this way for ages and by now I doubt the experience will improve. The headphones are great but I wouldn't buy them again just because of the app. Maybe wired ones, but not these.
This app is just about useless. The ONLY reason to have it is for the "Find My Buds" feature. But most times it will say "can't play sound". What do I need the app for if I have to find it WITHOUT THE HELP OF THE APP? The few rare times the app doesnt say "can't play sound", the sound gradually gets louder. I may walk past it 3 times but dont realize it because the sound is too low at the beginning. Have to play sound multiple times because if it were loudest from the beginning, I would hear it
Party mode is probably the most useless part of this app, if you have more than 2 devices that can pair, it will literally always try to pair with the device that's turned off. Never mind that your phone has two perfectly connected speakers, it won't care...it MUST connect with the one turned off. Funny thing is, if you turn the other one on, then it's like meh, I'm good... I'd rather connect with a different device.
It's ashame that a lower rating cannot be provided. I own a full array of Bose products, this app makes me ponder if it's worth it or not. I'm technical by nature and education, so I'll figure it out. I'm concerned for those that are not professors of data science like myself. It's a classic example of a incompetence. By the way, I'd be satisfied if it would just connect instead of all the potential....pathetic
Bose owes their paying customers a better platform! Every time I want to play my 2 Bose SoundLink 2 speakers, it will only do 1. I have to mess with the app over and over and over to get them to play at the same time. Today, I gave up! Too much trouble. UPDATE: BOSE CONNECT APP IS NO LONGER WORTH MY TIME AND AGGRAVATION! IT IS STILL HORRIBLE EVEN WITH MY GALAXY S22. ULTRA.
This is the worst app I've ever experienced !!! I'd honestly give it zero stars if I could. It's so hard and frustrating to put your speakers in party mode. You have to constantly turn both speakers on and off, then restart the app, and do this multiple times, until as luck has it, they finally connect. I've factory reset the speakers, then reinstalled the app while getting help with Customer Service. I have 4 Bose Soundlink Micros, so there's no way they're ALL bad. PLEASE FIX !!!
This does not connect to my 2 Boise speakers in party mode. I got it to work once and it was not easy. 1/4/2025: Disconnected, reinstalled, same problem - does not work. 5/31/25: started getting app to work but it takes 10 minutes and I have to keep going back and forth between speakers. once working it sometimes loses connection with the second speaker.
This app is complete trash. For a speaker that advertises up to a hundred connected devices, you'd think it would have no problem with trying to connect only two, but it does! One speaker works fine but two almost never works. My phone can connect to both just fine but the app just cannot sort it out. It's a new flagship phone too. I expected better from a brand like Bose.
Didn't know there was an app (of course there is one) for my new SoundLink Flex 2nd gen, so I downloaded it and followed the prompts. 3 tries, no dice (literally what the app says when you try 3 times). Tried it again from the top, but still no dice. Kinda funny that they anticipate the app not connecting with those messages following each failed attempt at connecting to the device. The speakers work fine via Bluetooth without the app, so no need for extra bloat.
Have 2 s1 pro + speakers and this app does not even detect either one of the speakers. Connected to my Bluetooth on my phone without any issues but this app cannot detect it. Why make an app that doesn't work with your high end speaker is ridiculous. So now I have to use a Bluetooth pairing device, bought separately, so I can make these 2 speakers work together.
Very few apps on the market are as useless or as buggy as the Bose Connect app. When the SoundLink Flex came out, they advertised the ability to connect the speakers together. If only Bose took the time to actually make this function possible. When pairing the speakers together, they immediately both turn off. It takes about 5 or more tries to get them to connect. And when you do, if you stop playback and play a different thing, they again will immediately shut off. Zero functionality at all.
This app is so bad I'm considering returning the speakers, which I otherwise like. I have 2 Boss SoundLink SE speakers. Getting them initially paired in stereo mode was a 10 minute trial and error fiasco that never actually worked through the app. I had to pair them and get them in party mode manually via the speaker buttons. Then I was finally able to switch them to stereo via the app. But it was done and I was happy. Until the next time I wanted to use them and had to start from scratch. Every
For how expensive Bose hardware is, I'd expect them to be able to figure out something like Bluetooth without having issues connecting (with or without the app). My advice: don't connect more than once phone to your speaker, and never disconnect it once it is working. You may not be able to get it working again.
I open the app and it used to connect to the speaker, that was on and playing. Now it won't connect. After a few seconds, the 'can't find your product' page comes up. No way to try again. Have to close and re open app. Doesn't matter, cuz it still says can't find product, that is right here, a foot from the phone... It's a shame Bose has such a cheap, garbage app. Obvious they don't take it seriously and don't spend any $ in that area.
