On the left side of the workspace, there is a column of different instrument options that you can add to your project. Simply click on an instrument icon to add it to your composition.

Once you have added an instrument, you can begin playing around with it by touching and holding on the pads at the bottom of the screen. The different colors correspond to different sounds that can be made with that particular instrument.
