This is exactly what I was looking for. An easy and intuitive way to try out weird and unconventional chord progressions without having to look each one up and learn to play one by one! Giving 5 stars because I've had a lot of fun and will get a lot of use out of this app for inspiration, as I begin writing my own album. A few times it froze (when I got to about 9 sections) and I was unable to save or export as midi, but that's literally the only issue I've encountered.

This is a very professional app! It has helped me kickoff several projects. In most cases I export the tracks as wav and go directly into Voloco for laying down vocals. One issue I have found with more elaborate arrangements is that when I export as midi and attempt to import in FL Studio Mobile, the files are corrupted. I have a hunch that note cutoffs aren't registering. I'm willing to work with you to identify the issue. A dark theme would be a nice addition. I'm also willing to help there.

I paid in full for this app way back in 2014. This app is great for songwriting on the go and studio prep. The MIDI export option can get you files that you can edit in your fully fledged DAW for more hands on control after you've charted everything out. continues to be a great tool all the way into 2025, as I've just now downloaded it on the 4th phone I've had in that time.

I got this when I didn't think inversions mattered and didn't know modal music existed. The more I learn about theory, the more I appreciate it! It's aware of your key and can handle any mode, not just major or minor. You can change your inversions and immediately compare. I'm just learning about tonicized stuff; I think they color-code all the key's Good Chords green, the ones commonly tonicized yellow, and the rest red. Great for writing/testing progressions, not as a performance companion.

Fantastic app overall! Really helped me get my musical ideas out quickly. I love how detailed it is. However, I do have some suggestions to improve it further. Firstly, the audio runs way too quiet. I have to max out the volume on any device I use it on to get it to acceptable listening levels. And lastly, the way that slash chords are spelled out is incorrect. For example, an A minor triad with an E in the bass should be Am/E or Amin/E but the app shows A/E Min which can be very confusing.

This is a great app, nice simple interface and does a great job of playing chords. There is one change that would make a huge difference. If, when selecting the scale degree in the left panel (ABC etc.) chordbot defaulted to selecting the major, minor or diminished that was in key. That way you could 'play live'. Which is impossible at the moment since selections need correcting to stay in key.

By far the best app yet for chord progressions ( that i am aware of) and it's ability to create songs and form songs that you can transfer to midi or whatever format you prefer in your daw, where you can then take your ideas to a new level, been using it for years, wish it was constantly updated with new sounds but for what it is it's still my go to app.

Finally an app that let's me create back tracks to improvise on! Thank you very much for that! However on future updates I would like to have more choices in the chords data base (been looking for add9 chords and did not find it) or an option that lets you build up your own chords. Great choice in instruments line, even though a greater choice in lines and variety of instrument would always be welcome.

damn near perfect app. it could use a few extra features. for example, would be nice to be able to choose different strum and drum patterns for different sections! also would be nice to have a play/pause widget in the notification bar since the music keeps playing in the background. otherwise it's amazing for songwriting! so happy this app exists

Wonderful tool for songwriting. My only quip is that while it is great to be able to save your ideas, on occasion, the arrangements one has set can end up being recalled incorrectly. For example, you build a song with 10 sections and each section is different, you save it but upon opening it again, the song will have the arrangement from one section applied to all 10 sections thus losing all the work you did. Basically what I am saying is that the recall factor can be unreliable at times.

I'm just getting to know this app but one thing I think it should have in addition to what is there now. A new page that is basically a flow-chart of established built-in progression choices. You pick the key you want to use, then you pick a progression from the list, such as 6-4-1-5 or 1-4-5, etc. Then you have options to increase or decrease the number of bars in each change, copy/paste sections or add changes however you want. Then click a button that "populates" that to the song page.

The concept for this app is "spot on" perfect. The execution is a little lacking. For instance, all the instruments sound like an appegiated piano with some small differences. e.g. Electric Guitar sounds nothing like an electric guitar. Change the settings for Chorus/Reverb have not discernable change. My phone is a Samsung Galaxy S21. Maybe I need to download something. Everything just sounds the same.

It is an amazing app. The variety of chords available plus inversions makes it unique compared to other similar apps. Unfortunately, it does not have the usual, more common styles in terms of rythm. I will, as a result, give it 3 out of five. When it includes the more conventional styles, I will give it 5.

A touch to play mode would be very useful, as in make a pallet of chords and tap them to play, drag to rearrange, etc. As it is, it has a tendency to slow down the composition process, because it needs to start playing everytime. Lots of great options for playback, but only if you already know what chords you want to put together. If that first stage were faster and easier to experiment with this would be a 5 star app.
