Me and my husband went on vacation and I was wondering what I could do to watch my shows without getting so far behind on them. Also I have a lot of channels and me and my husband loves football and the place we was staying didn’t have all the stations we needed to watch football so I looked up on the internet to see if there was a way to watch my shows without being at home and I found this app and it has changed everything for me. That week I was able to enjoy my vacation with my hubby and stay up to date on my shows. Plus watch all the football games we wanted. It was so nice. Also being a mom my kids always have the TVs occupied and having 3 kids who like different things all the TVs are always occupied so now I can watch my tv on my phone at any time and any where. I never have to use the tv again and honestly I don’t because I have it on my phone: this is the best thing Xfinity could of ever done. I literally can watch all my recorded shows or live tv. I couldn’t be any happier with this app
Please allow the app to play in the background as well as in lock screen mode. There are times I want to sleep to a TV but get blinded with the light that comes off it. With my iPad or iPhone I could listen to TV without that annoying bright screen in my face. Sadly you have to leave your device turned on to listen to the program. When you turn your device off during a program, you only get a few seconds before the app mutes itself. This could be a bad thing because if you leave your device turned on It can make it hot or run down the battery. T The ability to run the app in the background or in the lock screen (without video playing) would make it easier do use at night while trying to sleep. Plus if you're blind you can't see the video anyways. So to be able to have the video switched to sound only would make a huge difference for those who want sound only while using the app. I definitely love that Xfinity went the extra mile to make the app voiceover accessible for those who are blind. As well as contrasting colors for those who are visually impaired. However, I would like to see the app be compatible for those who have large print enable on their devices. Otherwise I love the app but it could definitely use some tweaking.
I have had mine since Feb 20th and still can’t stream. From what I can tell you can download the streaming app on newer versions of my TV in the family room but mine is 7 years old but still a 55” LG Smart TV. I mainly started my service back up because I desperately needed the Internet to job hunt and that is where all my time has been spent (easy when your Cable isn’t working). I paid extra for the 300 mb/sec so I would be prepared to accept any type of position available including work from home, independent consultation, or partial commute. That is when the sales rep talked about the awesome streaming app and no monthly fee for equipment because there are no cable boxes for every TV. The 300 mb/sec Internet comes with a different router than other plans and it is also required for the streaming app service. The sales rep really unsold here on the service and by lowering my monthly bill due to no charges for each cable TV box, that is what sold me on this plan. Sales reps should verify over phone the make/model of your electronic equipment to ensure compatible for streaming services to work as intended for optimal performance. This would make sure customers have a good experience getting up and running efficiently and effectively with the new service being introduced. Plus, it is just the right thing to do.
I've had other streaming apps & the ease of all was better. When you open them it's just like turning on your TV, channel just starts playing. Unfortunately with Xfinity Stream, you don't get that luxury. You also have to click too much to get the live channels. Example: When you go to the guide & click on a show, it takes you to the page where you have to click on which episode. You also have to pay for episodes. &NO AUTOPLAY! Some improvements are needed, overall I like it.
Xfinity has been the worst cable provider I have ever experienced. The overall quality and service is great but they apply limitations that are beyond frustrating. Living in an apartment in Chicago, my apartment building includes Internet in my utility package. However, I’m required to contract my own cable and therefore I moved forward with Xfinity. I have 5 TV’s in my home and have a cable box in the Living Room and Family Room. The representative assured me that the other 3 TV’s could use the Xfinity Stream app; however, I’ve experienced nothing but issues with this app. Due to the fact that I don’t purchase my Internet through Xfinity, the restrict the ability to utilize cable on the other 3 TV’s. I receive an error including, “..some content can only be viewed on your in-home WiFi.” Essentially, Xfinity is requiring me to purchase their WiFi in order to stream cable and since I have WiFi included in my monthly utility bill with my apartment complex, I have to pay an additional $50/mo for Xfinity WiFi or $25/mo for 3 additional cable boxes. I feel extremely disserviced as this is a clear sales tactic to expand the services I use by requiring me to utilize Xfinity WiFi in order to watch cable on the Xfinity Stream app. This could just be my opinion but I feel as though trust is built over time and can be lost in a moment. Xfinity’s lost my trust through this experience.
The app is nice for watching your shows that air on cable directly on your phone or iPad, however, there are many issues with the app. For one, just searching for the show lands you in many loads of the title - each time you type a word or letter the titles take a moment to load. Now the load time isn’t longer than a couple of seconds, but when it goes multiple times the time starts becoming significant. Another major problem I have with this app is the functionality. When I tried to scroll through an episode of my show it would take me back to the spot I was at before scrolling and it would show me an additional advertisement. This specifically bothers me because I despise ads and I seriously despise when an extra ad is fed to me when it shouldn’t have. Wanting to watch my show while I ate, I kept trying to scroll and the same issue persisted - forcing me to watch 5 or so of the same Allstate ads (yes... bland). My food was getting cold and I was hungry so I gave up, closed the app, and moved on the the tv channel’s app. The app is okay, but it would a whole lot better for the customers to not have to experience multiple Allstate ads even though television needs to be a little bit greedy.
If you try to watch something it will restart from the beginning after every single commercial break. The good news is when you go back to where you were it doesn't make you rewatch the commercials again. The only reason I use the app is there are a few shows I can literally watch nowhere else. Once again Comcast doing slightly worse than the bare minimum. Honestly I'm surprised the app works at all.
Lot of bugs lately. Will go to cancel recordings and it confirms it's canceled then I'll check back later & see it is recording and bumping something else out. Or I've had games that are recording that will simply stop recording part way into it. Fun to find out later... And not due to too many recordings either, not sure what's happening there. And now I'm only seeing some of my recordings on my tablet, which is how I watch most of my sports, so I'm losing 1 of my main pulls for xfinity there
Please, developers, fix the android version so we can watch recordings! The app spins when opened, and has a "There's a problem. Please try back later" message for the DVR since the June 11 update. Great when it works. Now it won't play recordings from the DVR. It's still better than trying to watch the LG app that's plugged in to the Internet that freezes up every couple minutes. Ugh
Clunky experience. Leaves a lot to be desired. Episode will pause and start at wrong times. Ads will play and then resume playback 15 min earlier. Then to fast forward, you have to watch ads again. Joy. When episodes are about to finish, no "skip to next episode" or any similar button pops up. Really? It's almost 2021. Every other major video streaming app has this.
This app is awful, it's slow, unresponsive, and I have been trying to connect for 30 minutes, reinstalled the app, only to find out I needed to change my password?! Why couldn't the people in Philly figure out how to give me a pop up letting me know instead of making me do everything else first? And why are they forcing me to update my password anyway? Did they have a security breach that they haven't announced yet?
This used to be my favorite app and one of the main reasons I keep Comcast. But not I can't stand it. Lately, I can never stream TV or watch my DVD recordings. Constantly getting a message saying "Well that didn't go as planned you can still watch your show on demand." Then when I ok to watch on demand that won't play either. This definitely needs to be fixed fast. Comcast cost way too much to have the same problem for weeks. Thought the update would fix it and nothings changed.
App suddenly stopped working. The app used to work just fine, I could use all of the features I wanted with minimal issue. Now, the app won't even load upon start up. I'm just left with a loading screen that will never end. I tried to sign out and sign back into my account and I can't even get past the Get Started screen. Everytime I press "Get Started" I am met with a Connection Error pop-up. My internet connection is fine, it's just this app. What a shame, I enjoyed the app while it worked.
Absolutely worthless. Anytime you want to watch something important like a live game or race, It says you're not allowed to view content outside your home wifi network. This app is useless, what's the point in not being about to stream sports while at work or on the go? Isn't that is what is advertised?!?! And in order to keep them from selling your personal content, you have to fill out a form and submit it. Unlike simply checking the box in your settings. I'm done with Comcast
Worked great until it didn't. Sure the occasional sound not with the picture, that we could fix by reloading. But now this "NO MEDIA FOUND" error. What's the deal? How can it not be found. Then it asks if you want to stop casting? Stop casting what. I pay too much for a subpar streaming system. Should have just gone to Hulu live. Should have known it was too good to be 0! Very disappointed!
App sucks. Freezes and stops responding every single time I try to use it. Have to force close and uninstall daily just for it to keep doing the same thing over and over. Great app.... not at all. Think I'll cancel this sh!##y service and get something that actually works. Don't waste your energy to download or use. It's not gonna work long.
A multibillion dollar company can't come up with an app that can remember where you left off. I have to remember where I am in a show because it always defaults to the newest season. AND, even better, it doesn't even give you the option to play the next episode when you finish one. You have to wade through and fInd your next episode. Also, the app is the slowest streaming service I have. And I have MANY. All for the deal of a lifetime at $245 per month (including sub-par internet).
Would be great if it was not constantly buffering. I use mobile data for a lot of streaming, with Netflix, Prime, and the CBS app and never have a problem. The only time this works well is on my home WIFI, and I might as well watch what I want on the TV or laptop if I'm at home. Would also be nice if I could use the app to record remotely. I'm often away from home and remember I forget to set a recording or I hear about something I'd like to record. That was really handy with Uverse.
Unless I'm doing something wrong why does it take so many steps to start watching a live tv show? Why can't you easily switch back & forth through channels (again way too many steps!). If I press on a tv show option it means I want to watch it don't take me to a page where I have to press watch to start watching it! Also why is picture in picture not an option? Just ridiculous! This app just seems to be bare-bones basic and it's 2022!! Do a whole lot better xfinity stream a whole lot better!!!
App now SUCKS.. It has gotten worse since my last review. I open the app and it closes itself multiple times before it will actually open. Then no matter what show, live TV, or recorded shows it won't play them. It just sits there with the spi Ning wheel of death. This is on 5gh wifi and 5g UC data at full strength signal. Nothing will play.. its really sad. It's part of the Comcast package and advertising. It says watch TV anywhere on the go. But, you really can't. On Samsung galaxy s21.
Terrible. Constantly freezes & lags. I have yet to watch a program that doesn't get an error message. "SOMETHING WENT WRONG ". Never happens with Netflix or other streaming platforms, so the problem isn't with the Internet, but with the CABLE APP. I end up frustrated, I exit Xfinity to watch other streaming apps that don't have constant interruptions. Don't bother calling for help, they don't let you talk to anyone until you text & jump through a thousand other ways to fix it yourself.
Just don't go with Xfinity. There's nothing this app does better than any other streaming service, and plenty of things it does worse. If you want to watch 8 seconds of show, then 8 seconds of loading, then 8 seconds of show, then 8 seconds of loading, this is perfect for you! If you don't feel like starting and stopping 126 times in 10 minutes, then just go anywhere else.
Chromecast doesn't work, I can find my Chromecasts from every other streaming app except this one. what good is an app if one of it's only features to watch on a big TV doesn't work!?? And to add another thing, if it finally does decide to Chromecast, it literally does not stream properly. Constant buffering, resumes after ads in the wrong place, bad quality.
Lots and lots if ads. If you stop a show and come back, it doesn't remember where you left off and starts 10 to 15 mins prior in your show. If you try to fast forward it rewards you with more adds (lots of them) then your show for a few mins. then more adds. One of the worst streaming apps. Do better Xfinity.
When casting to Chromecast from the app, rewinding is unbelievably bad. It keeps freezing and doesn't rewind. If your phone goes to sleep, when you wake it up, it starts the program at the beginning. Same happens when you have to pause it and when you resume play, it freezes and goes back to the beginning. There is no option to skip recap or skip intro. Playing any content on this app via Chromecast on the TV is painstakingly time consuming. This is the worst streaming app ever.
This is literally THE WORST App I have ever used. Impossible to watch anything as it just kicks me out. Now I can't even scroll the channel selection as it freezes and kicks me out. I bought 4 Firesticks to be able to stream Xfinity on all my TVs. What a waste of money. Thanks for nothing Xfinity. Update. So after spending 2 hours on the phone with Xfinity ( kept getting transferred and having to explain my issue over and over again) I was told the problem was fixed. It wasn't. Annoying.
This app has been working until yesterday, that I noticed. It opens but and when I choose a recorded program or even a live channel is hangs up as if it's loading. I uninstalled and reinstalled and tried other troubleshooting, but nothing works. I can't even watch on a browser because it tells me I have to watch through the app. If this gets fixed, I'll edit my review. Until then, very unhappy.
Can only stream in vertical portrait mode. When I flip to horizontal there is absolutely no video playback only audio. I'm not trying to watch a tiny little box with a magnifying glass or just simply listen instead of watch. This has never happened before but with all the other issues I've had with this company Im fairly certain this won't ever be fixed.
I initially gave 2 stars. I now give1. I would give zero if it were an option. The new update removed the Mini guide. You have to start at the top of the menu, scroll through every listing before finding the channel you want, whilst being UNABLE to continue watching the show you were originally viewing. Also!!!! Is keeps freezing. I shouldn't have to continually restart the app. Scrolling through channels to get back to what I was already viewing! Cancelling my subscription A.S.A.P
