this is easily, the best way to watch the live races. giving notifications that Do Not spoil the races is huge for me. I can't watch every race live, so allowing the full race to be watched after is another great point for this app. If you're looking to get into formula or export racing this is a great app for understanding what's going on in the world of f1. great application, great features, informative commentary, exclusive views into the cars and drives, and all while respecting the viewer.

Your subscription will be charged. Then when you login you will not be able to access TV pro. It will show that it cost $0 so you k ow there system knows you paid but still won’t work. Then no human trouble shooting available. They will have you hit restore purchase and that will simply freeze the app. Then you will contact them again via email and they will send you an automated response that tells you to erase the app reinstall. That won’t work and it will actually direct you to contact them again. You will once again get an automated response that tells you to do the same trouble shooting. Truly horrible customer service. You take our money first for a year of service and the. Won’t invest enough in your app to make it work or enough to provide customer service to fix technical issues. Maybe Michael Massey is the new Chief Technology Officer!

I’ve had this app for a few months now after recently getting back into F1. This app while the video UI can be a little clunky at times has overall been great. I’m not sure what everyone else is talking about with stream quality and airplay issues. I personally use this app on my iPad. The quality has never been bad for me personally and I have no issues when I watch on my iPad or AirPlay it to my TV. That being said I’m unsure if my experience is in the minority or if most of the reviews here are just upset. As someone who works in IT it’s entirely possible user error is the culprit for many of these reviews. Take mine with a grain of salt but check out the app anyways and see if it works well for you - it’s free after all.

Not the best or most reliable video player - has interesting bugs like, when behind the live feed, canceling your stream when the live feed ends. It is slowly and incrementally improving though, but at a rate as if they just have one part time developer maintaining it. I appreciate features like the different video feeds during the race.

F1TV should be partner with Netflix to handle all the streaming and maybe partner with a user account specialist company to handle security and login. It’s the only way to display telemetry so they have a monopoly. And like all monopolies there’s no competition so they don’t have to work as hard as they should to deliver a quality product. I streamed just fine a week ago but now that the season officially starts I can’t even login. Not the app, not online, and tech support is responsive but they are clearly not prepared for this. The person I worked with was great but the product is the Michael Masi of apps. Following weekend I streamcast FP2 from my device to my TV since the AppleTV app won’t let you stream the world feed and that blocked all my other devices from being able to start a new season. Had no issues with FP1. Tech support again…. And not a quick fix. It’s been YEARS and they still can’t make a decent product. Focus on the sport and let the experts focus on the delivery!!!

The jump to the big screens for this app was a major achievement, but the app world is like that classic Janet Jackson song, What have you done for me lately? 4k streaming could really bump up the broadcast quality, and it seems access to all that real time racing data is going to continue to go unused. So much potential is still underutilized, but it's still the best way to consume the maximum F1 content.

App mostly does what you want it to, but since there's no native TV /PS5 app for F1 TV I use this to Chromecast and the Chromecast frequently has issues (device I'm chromecasting from disconnects from the TV and both play side by side, with no way to control the TV). Layout of the session VODs also isn't the most intuitive, I watch P1 / P2 / P3 highlights, then qualifying VOD and race VOD, and every time I have to go digging through multiple levels of menu to find all the videos I want to watch

So this app leaves me scratching my head sometimes. For starters casting, it asks if you want to start from the beginning or go live, it almost always just goes live regardless of what options what option you pick. Also not sure if it's a Google thing but when you start casting the default volume is full blast. It's would be way easier to default the volume low then you can just turn it up at your leisure. I had one more issue but I don't have enough characters to finish my review. (496/500)

The first review listed indicated that Airplay issues were probably user error. As someone who did iOS support professionally for 8 years, I can guarantee you that the Airplay implementation in the F1 app is at fault. I have no other Airplay issues with other apps on any device I use. The F1 app Airplay may work for a practice session or qualifying but then the next video you watch will play on the iPhone or iPad but just spin when choosing AirPlay. Restarting the Apple TV will sometimes fix it. Restarting the phone or iPad typically does not. FWIW it seems to happen more often on the “International” feed (Sky Sports?) and more often on a race. Less so on qualifying. For the longest time I thought they were using a copy protection flag in the video to prevent Airplay for some races but now believe that it’s corrupted data that gets cached on the device. Force quiting the app doesn’t actually reset the app as it should so it’s a pain to get it to work. The real solution is to switch to the F1 AppleTV app. I don’t know when they released this but it wasn’t there last year when I looked.

PROS: It’s F1 for all your devices anytime, anywhere period. Lots of great F1 content and reasonably priced, spread across many tier’s. CONS: I really dislike the device quantity limitation on which you can be signed in on to stream as I have many devices I use daily. So I have to sign out of one to stream on a different device. The limitation I’ve found within the app is how difficult and confusing it is navigate to the content I most want which is to watch a live race or rewatch a past race. I’ve encountered too many layers of content I don’t want to see at the moment often times landing on prerecorded old races when I want to watch a live race and trouble finding a specific race I’d like to watch which often is buried too deep. This is especially problematic on the mobile apps, but does seem better arranged on the Apple TV set top box itself. Overall I enjoy the app and service as a new subscriber and am very happy to at least finally be able to subscribe directly to the sport I’ve come to enjoy so much of late!

Love the content not the UI. As a streaming app it doesn't quite fit the bill. The organization is decent, but the app doesn't save your place on the phone or across platforms. You just have to try to remember where you left off time wise. If you screw up, you can spoil the finish. (I've done this.) It didn't kill it for me but could definitely ruin it for others. No search feature.

I'm so curious about this app. Technically yes, you are able to watch some TV highlights on this app, you cannot watch a race on the app. So is it fair to call it F1 TV? I don't think so. F1 is the entire race series, the pre race events etc the warm-ups, the race, the interviews... all of it ... not just a select but if it... especially when you are charging such a high price tag for it. I'm giving this 2 stars because the analytics and data, most of the interviews you see on normal TV.

I'm bothered that they don't have an app for TVs, but being able to cast the races to a tv does the job just fine, but too bad it doesn't work. For some reason I can't cast live races even though I can cast old races. When I looked up how to fix it I couldn't find any solutions but I found other people who seem to have different issues casting, so I guess it's just a buggy feature.

I'm pretty disappointed in the app. It's very glitchy when you try to "watch from the beginning" during an event that's currently going. It will randomly jump to the live event instead of where you were. Casting to smart TVs is almost unusable. The stream generally doesn't start at all if it's a longer video. Videos under 10 minutes work ok but this isn't usable for the actual races or even qualifying. I'm quite disappointed since this is the primary reason I bought the subscription.

The app is more of a 4 star even 5 star at times, but when we pay this much for a subscription, and they don't upload the full practices or qualifying consistently I can't rate it that high... I don't want to see the highlights... I can do that on YouTube... I want to see all of fp1,2,3 and qualifying... even a day after it happens if I so chose... also, get wseries on here ffs...

Using this app is a pretty consistently bad experience, and it doesn't get better over time. Pretty wild that if you watch the pre-race show, it doesn't automatically switch to the race. Does not lend itself well to casting to a TV. No convenient mobile controls while doing that. If you start the race late, but it hasn't finished yet, when it does, it will cut your feed and you're left to restart and guess where you were at.

Worst value per dollar spent. Multi billion dollar industry with one of the crapiest apps I've ever seen. Imagine you're in the F1 TV Pro app and they dont even have a Schedule of the current grand prix, you need to figure it out elsewhere. The most unintuitive menu, you never know which item is selected, no possibility to cast the stream from their app, you need to cast the whole screen. Wow!

Save your money, it doesn't work. Refuses to cast to TV, and it's not available in the app store for my android tv. It's literally incapable of doing the one thing it's designed to do. You would think with all the money F1 makes they could at least use some of it on their app, but no. Support is non existent, as this is a widespread ongoing issue. It's basically fraud.

Very disappointing. The coverage of the races are subpar at best especially when compared to ESPN. The "restart" feature does not work. If for example, I watch a race to the end and then my roommate wishes to watch the same race but from the beginning the app will automatically restart where I left off. Extremely annoying and honestly surprising how far behind this app is from the likes of YouTube, ESPN, Netflix, etc. We will not be renewing our subscription.

Seek alternatives. I've used the app for years, and love the price compared to alternatives as well as the commentary during the broadcast. However, you can only cast using a Chromecast (not to a smart TV), the broadcast frequently goes blurry or stops to buffer (with excellent internet strength) and, if watching a replay, will frequently jump to the middle or end of the broadcast even after selecting the preference to start from beginning - ruining the race. I'm moving to a new platform.

Atrocious. A year ago, it worked fine. But now, when casting, it keeps skipping/freezing for about 0.5 seconds, once EVERY 5-6 SECONDS. Cable never did that. Because of the latency, the picture quality is inconsistent at best. It takes 10-20% longer to watch a grand prix, and it just ruins the experience. Because it worked okay for the 2023 season, and our Internet and other devices are the same, we know it's an issue with the app, not our equipment/WiFi/Internet connection.

Updated - bad stream Well, it's imposible to upgrade to Pro, that's weird, It looks like the only who is loosing thousands of dollars are you guys, I have to wait until my subscription end to try to upgrade, I hope it works like that... Update - July 7th - the streaming has no commentary, just in TV , no sound of commentary, on the phone everything is good, but you just can heard the cars on TV, that's so weird

Always spoilers on the thumbnails for races/quali!! it is so annoying and stupid. Dont you think people want to watch the event for the first time? And then you see a crash or result on the thumbnail when you are just trying to navigate to it... the lag on streaming is quite annoying for some reason it is slow where all other streaming sites work perfectly.

It's always a bad experience with this app. It either consistently logs you out and you need to search for your password or either get an unfriendly error messages when trying to login. Too many restrictions on the number of devices you can use although you didn't use some of these devices for a very long time. I would call this app F-Zero.

I paid for a yearly member ship, then realized I wanted the ultra 4k top of the line version. I went to upgrade my purchase, but I could only purchase a monthly plan. I did but my yearly subscription was still active. now that the monthly tern ended, I cannot use the 90$ year subscription I initially purchased. . . now I'm left here hoping someone reads. my 1 star review to offer some personal assistance because I cannot have a 1 on 1 conversation with anyone to reset or aid me in my purchase.

This app is garbage. I stopped using it for a year and now I paid again the subscription just to find out it's still not updated. It's virtually impossible to watch anything live let alone stream to my Chromecast Google TV. this is a subscription! Won't even connect with cell service. What's the point of this app if I can't even watch a video of the race!

Bought a subscription to watch F1 qualifying and race feed live whilst in Hungary. Video footage wasn't available to watch until after the event, and then only highlights. At which point it's on their YouTube channel for free. The problem would seem to be geographical licensing issues. But despite paying for this as well as Sky Sports, I was unable to watch a legal feed from either. You'd have a better service from a dodgy feed or fire stick...

Horrible!!!!!!!! Constant glitching on my Roku TV. Don't bother watching a race, even if it's complete. I waited a day and sometimes two, to see if it was a streaming issue and the previous race still wouldn't play without frreezing every 5 seconds! I reached out to customer service and they were completely useless. They provided no apology or information on how to fix the issue. Horrible customer service and a ripoff. If I could give F1 TV a score of zero I would.

Travelling issue. It seems that if you're outside your country of residence you cannot watch a race live, nor can you watch a replay, you'll be limited to a highlight after the race. This is not made clear anywhere in the app. I missed a race due to this. Jumping on a VPN resolves the issue but I didn't discover this until it was too late.

UPDATE: After 10 days (and another update), app still doesn't work, and refuses to *Restore Purchase. I explained to Apple and they have refunded my purchase. Apple should completely remove the app from the App Store too, as F1 have apparently disabled Restore Purchase (at least for monthly renewal attempts) and seek to divert us to their website. *****REVIEW: The F1 sales team is dishonest, in my opinion. I renewed this app two days ago. I paid money to the Apple App Store to do so. However, the Restore Purchases button no longer works. It says it is retrieving purchases but then says try second flow to restore. That is where it stops working completely. After doing all the usual logout, re-download stuff to no avail, I contacted Support Chat. But they said the app can't Restore Purchases and tried to convince me to stop using the Apple App Store and sign up directly with them. And their phone line support simply hung up on me after I described the steps to prove the failure. It all seems disturbingly dishonest and unethical. I am distressed by this. Sorrowful. No wonder this app has such low ratings.
