I've been using this app for 7 years and have experienced similar issues to others. I notice they have FINALLY fixed the issue of adding a 'flavoured iced latte' to a meal, unfortunately they have now BROKEN the ability to order a 'flavoured iced latte' with points. I don't understand how hard it is to get it right, it's an app for ordering food. It was buggy when I first started using it and it's still buggy. Sometimes everything works right. I reinstall every 6 months or so and live in hope.
It's mostly cheaper than ubereats or other food delivery apps, but the deals are almost only ever for pickup orders, they increased the amount it costs to use your accumulated points to purchase something significantly, and you can now only use your points once per transaction. also, randomly the app wont accept payment and refuses to complete the order.
Used to be great — now broken at the drive-thru. The app used to let you edit items if something was unavailable at drive-thru. Now it just says each entire meal is unavailable and gives only a delete button for each one — no way to swap or adjust individual items. Worse, my items were actually available at the store, so the app gave 0 info. I had to cancel and re-order manually at the speaker. Really poor UX now. Please fix both the 0 unavailability and bring back item editing.
Something is glitchy with the app. For the last 2 weeks, I've been trying to redeem my Rewards Points for a medium Iced coffee. It lets me select the drink, then the hazelnut flavour, but then that disappears after l select type of milk. I'm then stuck and unable to move to the next stage. So l give up redeeming my reward points and go without the Iced coffee. please fix the app. Also consider allowing points to redeem a sundae.
The app is otherwise good except it is too clever by half when it tries to auto detect locations. When I'm taking a tram through the CBD I know which McDonald's I'm going to be at but it keeps trying to place the order at 3-4 different McDonald's on the way. Please DON'T do that it's really annoying when I'm in a rush and need to pick something up on the go
I am unable to complete orders if I pick a location but the app is unable to read my location data. Or if I make a purchase for my wife to pick up it won't complete. We waste time trying to use when it should be quick and easy. The app now forces us to open our mail app over inputting a password without giving a choice. Unnecessary cross app data exchange and privacy implications.
Horribly bug riddled, super high latency. One of the worst app experiences out there. Two stars instead of one as it does allow you to order with persistence. Tested across multiple phones, unnecessarily slow. Screen transitions and nag promos that are frustrating. Edit: over a year on and nothing has changed. Currently can't proceed past selecting a drink in a meal. This app is criminally bad from such a large corporation.
Constantly glitchy. Every update introduces NEW GLITCHES :D Today it crashed like 5 times selecting a drink. And the map hasn't worked for weeks. ALSO I keep getting a window asking for app feedback while I am in the drive through trying to collect my order. It covers my order code! So I click the "not now" option and my screen is suddenly a whole survey? I SAID I DONT WANT TO GIVE FEEDBACK! WELL HERES YOUR FEEDBACK. It's terrible.
I finally decided to get the app and found what I ordered to be unavailable through it. It would have been great to have the full selection of items that are ACTUALLY available, but it appears that having their staff relentlessly towing the line of asking "Are you using the App" each time is more an exercise in mind control than providing a better customer experience. I'd rate this 0 Stars if I could, but I wanted to provide feedback in the hope of culling superfluous questions when ordering.
Recent update relies on location too much. I used to be able to put in an order and my husband/daughter could pick up but now the order will not complete if my phone is not literally at the restaurant. Also when attempting an order and it keeps changing to an incorrect location without warning. We are unable to use it now, which is a pity because the points/rewards are helpful.
I genuinely have no idea how this app is rated above 1 star. This app has always been absolute trash. Today I opened the app, changed the order location, and added my order. In that time, the location had reverted back to the original location. No problem, I'll change it again. Made my order and started driving to the store. When I got there the app told me something in my order wasn't available (I ordered one thing). I ordered that exact thing at the speaker with no problem. Fix this POS app
If ordering from a store that's not closest to you, it changes the pick up store AFTER checkout, even after the usual warnings. Makes it impossible to have an order ready to go near home. I changed the store OK (once I was closer) and got my pickup code for drive thru, to only then be told at the window that this store was out of what I ordered. Up until then, it's been a clunky app at the best of times. Avoid if possible.
I got my order code and went to recite it at the drive-through window only for the app to glitch. The order code was gone. Now all that I can do is re-open my order. When I follow the prompts, it claimed that latte's weren't available. I found the code through the notification, but it didnt work. Meanwhile, cars are accumulating behind me. I ended up just ordering my coffee at the window. Sure hope I don't get charged twice. This is not the first glitch. Sometimes the points don't accumulate.
Super laggy to open / load. Changes restraunt location even after I selected somewhere else. (eg. it will select the closest store to me even if I'm driving to one in a different direction) Will recieve one code, only for it to not work and then have to re-process an order to obtain a new code that MIGHT work. For such a large company, you'd think they'd put more money into an app that works properly.
Awful. It's easier to order in store. This app has not improved in years. If anything it's gotten worse: It lags all the time. It won't let you place an order that isn't at the nearest McDonald's no matter how many times you select the actual location you wish to order from. And it never clears the order once you have paid.
The app either won't process an order (random payment failures) or it will let you place an order and either not send payment to the store, or not complete the order. I have had more than one order where I have had to reorder or pay at the store as the order did not show up as paid (also no charge to my card). Other orders seem to be completed and not show up in the app or order history.
15th July, tried to order in-store. Got code from the app to enter on the screen in-store, but failed each time. Even the staff were baffled. Ended up ordering without using the app. The app sometimes lets me order more pickles, other times not. It's strangely random but consistently glitchy and slow. Please get a professional to stabilise it.
Quite literally the worst app experience I have ever had. The app was always extremely slow to load menus. Sometimes a 5 minute screen timeout. At least they used to get your order eventually. Last 2 weeks or so the app tells you the store has your order and to head down, and then they tell you they haven't got the order. After a few times the crew say this has been happening a lot. This is not on the crew, the app is to blame. Absolutely terrible. now the app requires me to login every time
Limited time items not available. Have to guess and check every restaurant rather than the app just showing which restaurants have the item you want. Choosing delivery doesn't let you choose the restaurant, so you still can't get the limited time item. Australia is such a joke, can't even do fast food right. Such a trash app. Designed by fools who never actually tested it out.
The last few times I've tried to use my points and add item to the code, it's a toss up as to whether the code will even load. The points are taken, but I am unable to do anything as the code refuses to load. I've gotten around it by having to make it a purchase on my card, but that simply complicates everything when the code should be loading. Not to mention the people having to wait for me to cancel the order and go through it the long way while in the drive through.
