I am an 87year old widow with a large family although on my own now. But have to say I swear by my shop of Lydls. I first became aware of this store years ago in Portugal when visiting my daughter and family so have been a Vregular customer for vast number of years and you just cannot beat it for value and value for money selling lots of things at excellent taste and best prices etc other supermarkets don’t. I visited Asda yesterday with my daughter at Eastbourne /local to me and a large store/ who initially wanted the post office (which I am sad to say you don’t have them in your stores or petrol stations) and couldn’t get over the much higher prices for Ordinary things. For instance a large packet is sage and onion stuffing was £2. Ridiculous when lydls sell a packet for 29p say x 2 = 58p. That’s about says it all in favour of My best favourite store at Polegate supermarket and have been telling my family and friends about your stores for years. I won’t go on any more as you will get bored but for overall and ALL the products you sell in your wonderful stores you cannot be Beaton for products and value for money. Sincerely
After purchasing a power too for £130, I used the register the receipt on the app before paying. I then paid I then purchased my shopping which came £88, the Lidl cashier said I would be able to use my Lidl coupon to pay for the shopping so to do this. I then tried to use the expect £2 off voucher which was not viewable on the app, so I paid for the shopping, I asked if I could register the receipt, I was told by the cashier that I could do after paying but to call customer service and they would be able to help. I did this and was only able to listen to a audio recording as opposed to a person that could help. The customer service did however tell me to register the receipt in store, therefore, I have lost a lot of faith Lidl’s customer service, told one thing store different on audio record on customer service. I would appreciate if someone could register my second receipt so that I claim my addition £8 coupon. Thank you for your review. I was one of your first customers wen you first opened I have grown old with you. I love the different types of foods you have from around Europe I live in Blackpool. But from Glasgow. Also lived in Spain. Wen travelling from. Alicante air port in taxi to l pollop. Outside Benidorm. I saw your store just newly opened. I was frilled husband and cab driver couldn’t believe my delight in seeing your stor. E. It made me feel connected. Thankyou. Your staff at Bloomfield road have always looked after me. I have noticed the prices have gone. Up but still cheaper. Oh can you not get some Scottish. Food. Like bread. Square sautés. And. Black pudding as there is loads of Scottish people in Blackpool. Cheers loyal customer. Oh and for about. 5 month. My scratch was out of order every time I won it would say. Something went wrong. Manager told me to contact customer service. But to no avail. And I don’t use computer. Sorry. Don’t have one only. Tel. But still. Love shopping at. Store. June. Hewitt.
I’ve been unwell with post-Covid fatigue so after visiting doctors I needed cheering up. My husband kindly drove to the newly opened store as we’ve been looking forward to Thomas for over a year. The experience really cheered me up. I’ve got beautiful flowers on my table now to look at, from Lidl and they last for ages. In store I saw a tiny little baby being carried by his dad, so I asked to see the child’s face and he was a proud dad, coping magnificently with shopping as well. What was really cute were the mini trolleys for kids. The mums were friendly as I laughed as the little girl was throwing goodies into her trolley. I managed to get halfway round the huge store before I felt too tired, so we headed for the till. The man at the cash till was chatty and helpful as I got my electronic Lidl card scanned. We love the items we got from the bakery, and I’m now sitting down enjoying these with a nice cup of tea and looking at my flowers in the centre of the table.
For 11 years we travelled in our motor home: the last five years of which we lived full-time …. exploring Europe and shopping in Lidl. We love Lidl products and were thrilled to find the core products in each country we visited….in particular we love the on-site bakery products, Gold Coffee, wines, Lidl gin, beers, hygiene & household products and fresh, fresh local produce…. the list goes on… each country sold produce of the region and it was so exciting to try new tastes and flavours. Imagine how thrilled we were to find the weekly “FLAVOURS OF THE WEEK” in England, bringing us products we have discovered on our travels. My new garden is a picture: all thanks to the range of plants Lidl has been selling (at brilliant prices) since spring. Sadly age has caught up with us and our nomadic lifestyle has come to and end. As we knew all along, we have had to settle down… and are now back in England… so imagine our joy to find a brand new Lidl less than a mile away on the outskirts of Andover! All our favourite Lidl lines, wonderful wines from all round the world, British staples and the icing on the cake:a Lidl Loyalty scheme on our mobile phone…. Rewarding us for shopping with them and offering weekly vouchers based on our store preferences. Why would we shop anywhere else? Lidl is definitely “Lidl on price” but the quality is superior to any other supermarkets’ products of a similar price. Bravo Lidl…
I'm using the self service terminal. Using the app is slightly more convenient for me than using the digital credit card. My feature wishes: - Disable emails for "Abbuchungsankündigung". - Make ads in the app load after I can select the payment option. the app takes 5s to start. - Add an option to show the Lidl Plus card on start. This is the reason why I installed the app.
wonderful app! BUT I'd appreciate it if I were able to change my preferred language. as of now if you change location, the app language changes as well and you can't change it. pretty inconvenient if you travel to a country and you can't understand that language or if you're trying to immerse in language you're learning but you're stuck with the language tied to your current location. what a bummer. I'll be super grateful if you add this feature.
Is there an open Beta? ngl. I like the bold feature rich strategy you are going for even while I have privacy concerns. But you could easily double down. For example improve the shopping list feature: Add the NRV values of the products, add feature for recipes and calorie tracking. This would make it so convenient for some people to add all into calorie tracking apps. also it would be an insane usp. and you could use the PR for things like health living etc.
Edited after the latest changes to the app: app now very slow in changing screens (e. g. from treats to offers). Much worse now, hardly able to use in-store. Good idea but would make much more sense if it gave you the digital receipt without you having to use one of the coupons. Doesn't scan if you're not buying any of the items 'on offer' - why?
a bit of a faff as you have to activate coupons before they are valid for some reason. it's also slow to open and display the barcode to scan at the checkout, which is annoying. not really worth bothering with tbh, the rewards really arnt worth the extra hassle. EDIT: seems it's working again (but even slower for some reason). I think it crashes when there's no Internet, which is often in my local store. bit of a design fault there. back to 3 stars.
So far so good with offers but lately when I click on an alert the app doesn't launch. Just want to mention that also, a lot of offers are irrelevant to me, alongside some that are relevant. A lot of improvements needed for the app interface itself. It's all over the place and some things look clickable in fact are not!
the lidl app is becoming a cluttered mess. 1. the app loads significantly slower nowadays, which works against the fact you guys want customers to use it in store (as scanning products or scanning your personal account at checkout). 2. the app is visually confusing. please stop forcing the website at the top of the app. I get flustered every time I open it.
Slows down the shopping process. Tokens and vouchers don't last long enough to benefit. Update: it's improving but still slow. Sorry but a card would have been better with the discounts applied automatically. Quite often there is no signal in the shops so impossible to use quickly. Still agree with my original thoughts. If the benefits only last a few days, they aren't worth having. With fuel costs, I try not to shop too often. Work doesn't allow it for many.
The old Lidl app was better. This one, is getting from bad to worse. Maybe it depends on the country, but the Romanian one sucks. 1. the shopping list: multiple clicks to get to it, and all you see is the name of the product, and the only options are to change the quantity or delete the product. Just erase the whole list option. It makes things harder, not easier. And now I can't see the weekly offers in the app anymore, just the catalogue. I have the physical catalogue. Pls bring back old lidl
The app is set up to be very deceptive on sales. Forgetting that many of the sale items are gone very early. The App makes it difficult to determine what item or items is in sale. Often it's only one or two particular items in a sea of similar items. Good luck finding the right code. Be very careful when buying and don't pay full price and make deceptive marketing beneficial to them.
App decided to log me out because I haven't used the app for a few weeks, standing next to the register trying to login, forgot my password so pressed the button to recover and it asks for three different things after having to wait to receive a code via SMS and then it would also like my date of birth. After the website decided I tried too many times I uninstalled the app and just paid full price for my groceries. What a waste of storage space on my phone.
Oh dear. Front end mostly fine but let down by diminishing back-end performance and fundamentally eroded rewards scheme. I'm not sure it's entirely coincidence that since the rewards were slashed, updating of transaction history has been slowed by several hours and push notifications stopped, making it less practical to do the split and immediate return shops (previously recommended by checkout staff) needed to make the most of the scheme especially in this age of spiralling travelling costs.
Please just fix this app and stop making excuses for not opening and other errors (keep reloading/updating is not a fix!). If I was contracted to write an app and it worked like this I would not get paid. It has not been error checked properly. I would not give it a beta release let alone a full release.
Why the heck did you remove search receipts options? Now it is really "fun" when I want to find purchase date for device for warranty for example. What is the purpose of having digital receipts when you cannot search or manipulate them? Still can't believe that you dared to do such a thing, and even more, that you refuse to restore it after weeks of negative reviews. Just a proof of what lidl really thinks of its customers.
the only food app that keeps signing me out after I exit it, and even if I scan the code, the discounted products get no discount when I am about to pay (it says that the discount was applied, but in reality the products are having the normal price like without the discount). I don't have any technical issues with other major food apps, only with this one.
update 2025. App updated, but receipts degraded. It always lacked the ability to save off receipts, although you could take screen shots. Alas now you can't search them and only the last years are retained, so you can't find nor produce the receipt for a failed three year warranty item. deleted comment on early faults. OTOH the removed working features were ceased by Lidl. One might think that this was to stop warranty claims as now you can't find your receipt and after a year Lidl delete it.
Really poor, cannot even set up an account as over 12 hours later I am still waiting on a verification code for my phone to come through!! Will stick to Tesco instead, they price match and having a physical card makes all the difference. This app is a waste of my time.
When I want discounts from coupons I have to click them like a fool, they are not automatically recognized, at the beginning when the application was created they were automatically recognized. They are going to cancel the Lidl application, which had a great shopping list. Here when I put something on the list I don't see the pictures and I don't know what I actually wanted to buy because I can't remember from the description what exactly the product is, it's much less clear.
After the latest update, now when I open the app, I just see a blank white screen with only a "back" arrow in the top left. Nothing appears on the screen and I can't get into the app. Clicking the arrow just gives me a popup saying I need to accept the terms of use (even though I'm sure I already accepted them before), with no way of actually doing that.
Horrible app. Makes me not want to use Lidl. Every time I visit Lidl the app needs to update. There's always problems. It doesn't load, signs you off, coupons are for a very specific version (lactose free with same price doesn't count or vice versa). You need to prepare your shopping trip thoroughly and load the app well before the cashier to even use this. Worst of all, the coupons are useless -10% trash for cheap items. Not worth the hassle at all!
they removed digital receipt search. this was an essential feature. bring it back! you will be getting more than 1 star review from me until you do. as a software engineer myself, this is a crazy, unless there's ulterior motive for making it hard to find receipts. maybe to reduce return rates. and bring back the multiple years. at very least, 3 years of history for warranty purpose. side note: online posted tips are to request the receipts through Subject Access Request under Data Prot. Rules
Old, now non-existent app was much better. Browsing through items from the catalogs and adding them to shopping lists worked great. This app redirects you to online pdfs and has no option to add any of them to a shopping list. The shopping list function of the app is just a basic text editor.
Most useless app ever. Half the time it's not working. Now we went to the till with things set out in the store as 3 for 9euro and no-one could figure out how to set the discount so we had to pay 2 euros extra. Also, you apparently have to activate every single offer so it's very misleading when it says a discount is for Lidl plus customers. Of course, you can't activate anything on an app that doesn't work properly.
The app requires updates from time to time without stating till when the current version can be used. It seens there's no tech reason for that, as the next minor version (which is also several months old at that time) always works for me. No changelog, always the same BS. Country and language can't be changed independently. No feature to read barcode and check price.
To be perfectly honest, it's a waste of time. You have to spend vast amounts of money to get anything worthwhile back and to make it worse it's time limited. I'm never likely to spend enough in the requisite period to get anything back. Maybe if you're shopping for a family of 6... Overcomplicated and pointless. What's wrong with a straightforward point for every pound spent, that you can exchange for money off your shopping when you've collected enough.
