This a Question/ Review. I signed up to Angi a few years ago. Recently I came back to find help with another project. All went well, but soon as all was ordered and accepted, now I can't sign in. Not on computer or App. I get to where it says code was sent to my email, but nothing comes to my email. I tried numerous times. uninstalled and reinstalled the App, but now i can't even sign in to the new App. I've tried so many things with no luck. Tried to create a new account. Same thing.
The app just spins and does nothing sometimes. lots of white blank screen even when working correctly. It just wants me to fill in details then contractors text or email me. That's ok, but sometimes I don't want to do that. sometimes I just want to browse contractor ratings. so far I haven't seen a way to do that.
First time worked ok. Found what I was looking for. Second time too many replies and everyone wants the work. I had no idea who I was communicating with after a while. So much 4 Angie's list... it turned into a nightmare. Too many vendors fighting for one simple job. So I end up with the biggest crook who managed to chade the other guys away. Of course he totally overcharged me considering the scope of the project. Don't ever use these guys and Angie's list does not pre-qualify or verify vendors
SPAM-GI. I installed the app to start researching pricing for upcoming projects. The instant deluge of phone calls and emails was insane!! I tried to ensure my contact settings were correct but apparently my efforts were in vain. Plus the search box for requested tasks is not very intuitive. Vague or inaccurate results were common. I was very disappointed. I had high hopes because I'd always heard good things about Angie's List. Be prepared for the communication swarm if you download!
I've booked several times through Angi, and my experience has usually been bad. This week, for example, I used their concierge service, and the person never showed up -- yet Angi marked the service as completed, and charged me. There's no ability to note this in the app, or to request a refund. I've been waiting on the app's "24/7" support chat for over an hour, with no response.
Thoroughly disappointed in the 3.5 app, their website and the whole “service.” I've seldom encountered a more Mickey Mouse operation than this one, and that's saying a lot. I won't bore you with all the gruesome details, but you'd be pissed too. My advice would be to RUN and find your own tradesfolk and upon further review (see below) still screw Anji.
I tried to cancel, actively, for 3 months. I tried emailing to begin. 15 days later I started calling. I would call, at minimum, 2 times a week. I called the number associated with my "account specialist". Every time, I would get the voice-mailbox. Which would be full, resulting in an automatic transfer to a support center in India, filled with people who have no ability to make any changes on an account, only request for someone who can. This happened for two months. Horrible experience.
The app is very vague and confusing. I used the prepaid aspect of the app because I need help asap. It gave me the impression that for $301, the pro will be able to fix the appliance issue and will do it within the 4 hour time frame . Pro only did diagnostic and was not able to fix the issue. I asked if I'm going to get charged for the full $301 even if he only worked on it less than an hour. Pro stated that I would not be charged the whole amount; however, Angi charged my card the full amount.
I used to a dedicated user in the Old days when it was Angi's List. I even paid for the service for awhile. I could browse service providers, read reviews and select two or three to call. Now I am forced to fill out details about my project and then get calls from businesses that I don't want to talk to, sometimes from people that don't provide the service. And I can't even find the reviews that I need. This just wastes my time. Bring back the old Angi's list. I'm uninstaling my app.
By far the worst experience on an app I have ever had. Created account, just wanted to see how it compares to the other apps. Next thing I know I am getting 50 calls and texts.frkm contractors even though I cancelled or said job was completed anyways. Left no information on the job. No description yet. Somehow they're selling this to contractors. Not to mention I can't even delete my account. It's impossible. They tell me I don't have a phone number on there even though I sent him a screensho
Do not use Angi has a service. I had a terrible experience with two installers. Their support team is mainly through chat and the agents just disconnect with you if they don't know how to help. After an hour I finally got someone on a actual phone call and to process a refund you must fill out a form and they'll send a check in 3 TO 5 WEEKS! Insane.
This tool is fine for finding professionals, but their fixed price services and subscription are totally worthless. I called a week ahead of time to schedule a service, they cancelled twice on me an hour before the appointment, blaming a professional even though they never actually found one. I had people reaching out to me, so I know they were available, and I just ended up scheduling my own service. Price was about the same as Angi's "discount" price.
This is interesting. They make a great effort to contact you, suggest service, sign you up, setup alerts, and boom you should be good. It ain't as seems, they will not credit on bad leads. And they bill for a year KNOWING that customers are more than likely gonna cancel in the first month. BEWARE, they totally went unresponsive via email will not send a email notification that you will be billed, it just happens. Maybe put the lead fee in the notifications, so it's easier to track lead cost.
App is difficult to navigate. The Angi Pros do not use the app messaging system. The plumber they sent did not speak English. He did not even see the booking details on the app. I was not able to find his plumbing license online. Chat representatives are not very polite, possibly dealing with all kinds of unhappy Angi users all day. We will not be renewing our $29.99 membership next month. We will ask our neighbors for recommendations from now on.
Stay away from Angi at all costs. I have had nothing but issues. Contractors don't show up, you have to contact support for everything because their app doesn't allow you to do most things. Communication with contractors is absolutely horrible as they have 2 phone numbers (one for receiving messages and 1 for sending). I after 4 months of non stop problem I cancelled my membership and plans. It's just not worth it and this application is too limited.
As soon as you submit a request for someone to complete a job, you get incessant robocalls with no one on the other end. Just hangs up. Calls you 2-3 times a day. Was never even contacted by the handyman I request info from multiple times. Angie's List started out good. Over the years it really became too big for its britches. Nothing but robocalls and constant emails with absolutely no results.
Non-stop advertising and solicitation. I did 1 search for a service. I did not request a quote or even select a company. That was 3 weeks ago, and Angi shared my number with a dozen companies, and I've been getting mutple calls every day starting at 8AM saying they are "calling about my project request." I removed permission to call or text me on the app, and the calls kept coming. I asked them to put me on their do not call list, and the calls kept coming. It's now bordering on harassment.
I had Angies list for 5 years. I used it a dozen times with amazing success. I was happy with every company I used. Recently they were purchased, changed how their system works, and changed the name to Angie. I've tried the new system for 2 projects. The results have been poor. It appears the business model has changed. It used to be clients paying to get access to a list of honest customer reviews to make an informed decision. Now, the customers are the business and you are the product.
Beware! Do NOT install this app. First, when I would try to login on the app it would give error saying "this page cannot load" so I had to login on my PC. Second, this contractor they sent was dishonest. I just needed the inside pane of my double pane window repaired. The man shows up in shorts like he's going to the beach. Looks at the window then says he can't repair it. We are then charged for service not rendered. Ultimately we requested a refund.
Terrible! The app did not allow me to enter data in the Project requirements box. In addition, when I tried to respond to a message from the installer, all the words were backwards. I was able to log in on my laptop this morning and all worked fine. but since I only had my phone while I was away the previous week, the app did not do the job.
