The official Chosen app is an amazing tool for engaging with an amazing show. Although you can access some episodes through other channels, this official app gives additional content that you can't get anywhere else. My favorite is the Aftershow, which they started after each episode of Season 3: interviews with the actors, writers, and director that give you great insights into the show. And it's free! Get it, you won't regret it!
I use the app on my android smart phone and it works perfectly! There were a lot of people saying the app is horrible and glitches or they cant sign in, well they all seemed to be using Roku or other TV services to view it and maybe that's where the issue lies, not the app itself. Hopefully the Tech team can figure out why. Love this series and am so blessed to have it working so well! Peace and love family.
I love the chosen and I love that the app is free to watch. what I find annoying is how often the same [promotion video?] plays at the beginning of each episode. it would be fine if it was a different one, but it plays even when I get out of an episode and come back later. having a ad video play before is tedious when I just wish to watch the series.
This is a wonderful app! I was very excited to start watching, and watching episode 1 went perfectly, but before I started episode 2, somehow all of the language switched to Polish in audio. I have nothing against Polish people, I just don't speak Polish, But there is no other option left! In the comments on the episode, a lot of other people are having the same problem. I'm sure it's just a glitch, but it's definitely annoying! I want to enjoy more of season 1 of this amazing show!
The only thing I'm having an issue with is the TV. I'm using my Roku remote for Season 4 and I rewatched episode 1 two days ago and just finished rewatching episode 2, but for some reason it froze before I can even rewatch episode 3. But yet when I open other apps like YouTube TV, they work. Tried unplugging my Roku device then plugged it back in, that didn't work. Then tried turning off my TV and Roku, that didn't work either. Something has stopped The Chosen from working on my TV.
The app takes up an enormous amount of space when you download stuff. Semi-understandable, but it makes it difficult. Downloads also take SO long. I'm not sure it continues to download when you go to another app, which would be really useful. I hope somehow, download time/how it does it will be fixed. Otherwise I love the content! In regard to other reviews: it stays logged in and does not sign me out everytime.
I would give this 5 stars because the show is so fabulous, but every time they update the app, I lose the ability to stream to my TV. This time, I uninstalled and reinstalled and lost streaming altogether. Nowhere on the app, at this time, is there any option to cast to any TV. It's quite annoying because the video quality from casting through YouTube is hideous. I really wish they would get that worked out.
Not a fan of the fact that even when in "full screen" mode, it still has the "Home", "Gift Store", "Season 4" etc. buttons at the top of the screen. Didn't used to be like that and totally ruins the viewing experience on mobile. EDIT: Apparently this doesn't happen if you go into the full episode list for the season and play it from there, which is weird but at least workable.
Great app until it is not. Very smooth watching until it starts glitching on me. I cannot get through a single show without the app freezing on me. I looked for it on YouTube and can't find it there. I really hope you guys fix this. It totally defeats the purpose of watching this when it is unwatchable with all the freezing and glitching playing.
I really appreciate the show! However, it is only available to load on my phone. I tried to load it on my laptop and it transferred to my phone instead. I cannot view consistently on such a small device. Season one is currently on Netflix. I would think that two would also be. But I will have to wait until it is available. Yes, it is on YouTube, but with ads popping up LITERALLY every 3 minutes, that's insanity.
The app has been fine until a couple days ago. I also keep getting "something went wrong" and cannot open it. It happened when I scanned one of the QR codes from the Get Used to Different student guide. I sent a message to Chosen Team so I hope they can look into it. I've done all the necessary Uninstall, Install and restart my phone etc., but not working. I use the app every day and I miss it! Ugg so frustrating as I love the show so much! Please help Chosen Team. Thank you ❤️
I don't know the thought process behind going to their own app, but I doesn't seem well thought out. I stumbled across the Chosen on Amazon Prime. I hadn't heard of the series before that, but because it was accessible on that format, I found it. My faith, which was wavering, has strengthened because of being reminded who Jesus was from the Chosen. I want others to find it and for it to be a witness to them as well. That being said, the app doesn't work very well & needs serious improvement.
I love watching your show on my phone, and it did well. But in other devices, the app is really buggy. Screen sometimes bugs out of frame when trying to rewind or fast foward. Other than on my phone, other devices doesn't keep track of what episode or what captions is on. And the app on my phone can't even pick up on other devices even with Wifi on. Other than that, it's a good app to watch the show, and I love it!
I definitely like watching the episodes of The Chosen with Jonathan Roumie on my Roku streaming device. The only problem is that the app freezes whenever I exit the episodes, and I often have to exit the app completely and open it again to go to the next episode.And, the fast forward, rewind, and pause functions don't work very well. And, the episode summary doesn't work very well either half the time. Accessing these features often result in the app freezing as well. Needs work.
Amazing Show! Not great app. The app will not save my place in the show. So if for any reason I can't finish, I have to start over and get an un-skippable ad, then fast forward. Also, the subtitles just refuse to work, and it also will not cast to my TV. I started watching the show on Netflix first, and was sad to see the other seasons were on a separate app, but I understand why. It is just such a shame that the experience is not nearly as pleasant now.
Anyone else having issues with the play, rewind, forward, progess bar, and cast controls disappearing off the screen and not being able to use them? I can tap anywhere on the screen really really fast and it will, either stop, play, or fast forward without any of the controls reappearing on the screen. This is insane and extremely frustrating!
This review is for the Google TV app, but I'm not sure how to leave feedback for that app. But you have to login to the Google TV app on the TV every single time. It doesn't remember my login. Also the in-video controls are non- traditional—they sort of create friction for users. The Android app itself rarely casts to my smart TVs successfully.
After creating an account (which was frustrating on its own because the app kept freezing during the set up...and kept rejecting the username without enough specifics as to why), sign in didn't work because it says it doesn't recognize the username or the email. So, creating an account was just a waste of time. If the app glitches get ironed out, I'll write an updated review.
We have always cast from the app to my Samsung Smart TV. However, you updated the app and the ability to cast to my device is no longer available. My Samsung TV no longer shows up on the app's device list. We watched season 3 episodes 1 & 2, but the update no longer allows us to watch, as you add episodes, very discouraging. It is hard to rate an app that does not do the job intended.
This is one of the most poorly written apps I've ever had the displeasure to use. Please note that I love The Chosen series but the app is pathetic. On Fire TV it doesn't cache credentials so you have to log in every time. On Roku there is no password reset option. For those of us who don't hear well there is no apparent way to set subtitles. I worked as an application developer for decades and I would never have allowed an application like this to be released.
