Elon Musk you have truly made the world happy I know for one thing that you have given me actual hope of having good internet. Relying off of phone lines for internet and only getting downloads speeds of 1-3mbps if even that on one device is truly and disappointment and seeing how the fiber optic internet situation we are having in my are with them going down half my road and stoping and coming from the other side of my road only the the edge causes some serious lag. For example, call of duty games have always been my favorite and now that internet requires faster speeds to function anymore has caused me to ultimately slow down on gaming almost to where I never wanna play anymore. And Starlink has given me enough hope to rekindle my love for gaming. With this I also plan to build my first Pc and join a new community of gamers after being an xbox fan for so long. Thank you and please never stop innovating you are truly the best man on earth with a wonderful purpose in life.

We haven't had any issues and we have had starlink for over a year now. We have 3 gamers in the house and they can be online at the same time and never any buffering, lagging or real time issues at all. I stream movies with no issues and we live in a very rural area. The only complaint is the price is a little steep but it's good internet so it's worth it in the long run I guess.

Great service and speed. I live in a rural area and had a different Satalite system, and it was so slow. I couldn't stream or make calls. Basically, the only thing you could do was check email. Thank goodness for Starlink. I can make a phone call, stream movies, use the security system that I had, and could never use. I highly recommend Starlink.

we live in an area where we've tried multiple wifi options, and most have been horrendous. some will work for a short time and wouldn't even be able to have multiple devices connected at the same time. Starlink has been absolutely amazing. it's the best option for wireless wifi hands down, and we can literally run dozens of devices at the same time.

very good internet but I have trees all around me so I can't get a clean signal continuously it'll be good for like 5 or 10 minutes while gaming then it'll freeze up but in the winter when the leaves are off the trees it's really good and I have no problems. it's been hailed on it snowed and it withstood some very strong winds. it's actually pretty tough and has a built in heater so no ice or snow down fall is the router gets hot! This app really helps with alignment and where to put it.

I live in the country so our options were non existent for high speed internet. when starlink was announced I quickly put my name on the list to try out their service. once we were contacted about getting set up we didn't hesitate to give it a shot. when the packages arrived they were very well packaged and even easier to set up, it took less than 30 min to set it up and we had high speed internet. it had been amazing and have zero complaints about the service. 10/10 would recommend!

Got this as our neighborhood is new and internet services hadn't made it here yet. I was skeptical, but after ordering the equipment and setting it up (was easier than I thought) I have yet to have an issue with service, speeds, or even a full household all logged into it. Video streaming and gaming has been great, no issues. Additionally, the price per month for unlimited/uncapped internet is way cheaper than what both Spectrum and Allo offer. We can also take the equipment with us anywhere.

I love my starlink connection. It is very reliable for me. And it never move slow whether I have one or up to ten devices on it at the same time. It was pretty easy to setup on my roof. Even adjusting the dish alignment with their satellites passing over were easy as a connection could be. Thanks

due to the geographical area I live, I do not have the option for many internet providers and the few I've used the internet and wifi is pretty spotty. since I've been using starlink the past year, I've had absolutely no issues. great service! great for streaming movies, music, and games. not to mention use of wifi for education purposes. never run out of data! and super easy to install an d hook up!!

I have yet to get my kit but I have friends who have just received theirs. I just have to say that we are incredibly grateful for this service. My friends have been blown away by the speed and consistency that they are able to receive using Starlink in our small community. With Covid-19 the need for reliable internet skyrocketed and our community, which still does not have cell phone coverage over approximately half of it and has had the equivalent to dial up internet over the majority is waiting with great anticipation to test out and use this new service. Which is less expensive than the other satellite service we currently have and is unlimited verses the 10 gb limit of our current satellite. Needless to say we are appreciative and grateful for Starlink!

The Starlink’s App is excellent. It allows for easy set-up of Starlink and of your WiFi user name / password. It’s interface is simple, attractive and functional, allowing you to check your network locally or from thousands of miles away. Features include network statistics, speed check, on-line status, dish obstructions, control of the 2.4 and 5Ghz networks, remote reboot and more. This also allows you to turn on and off heat mode (snow melting) in the satellite dish, which is useful if you’re running off battery / solar to reduce current draw. I’ve been using Starlink for about six months and this App has always been stable and continues to improve. A guest network for the Starlink router would be great, but I just use a second router for this. I think Starlink’s goal has been to make this interface stupid simple and it is! Excellent work by the developer!

I’m an IT admin and I’m floored. I came to set this satellite service up for a family who lives a rural, desert location and I expected it to be a slight improvement over their existing satellite internet provider who I CONSTANTLY heard complaints about but I couldn’t do anything (I’m not an ISP and the cable and phone companies won’t drop service here). They finally got into this Starlink program and now I want it! The transparency, simplicity, and the SERVICE are GREAT! This should be what the other ISP’s are copying because I want visibility to know when my home’s last network outage occurred and the duration. Instead of guessing network speeds, they provide the testing tools right instead the app. It’s great! Since I am an IT Admin, I will say that I wish there were some MORE router configuration options available (like guest wireless, child safety tools, etc.) but NONE of that is a priority over the current tools that Starlink has provided here. Those are only things that could bog services and hardware down over time, so I’ll gladly take this setup and hope that they keep their foot on the pedal to become the next big ISP!

Easy to use app. Over the past 18 months Star link itself has changed our lives giving us the ability to work from home. It's not perfect, some areas are better than others. Also something to consider if this is your first time setting starlink up the find a location for dishy feature using your camera is just an estimate, you will need to fine tune the dishes location using the visibility function once set up in the app and can take 12 hours to compile satellite data.

i picked up Starlink because my cellular carrier's data network in my area really sucks. imagine very day having 5 Mbps and every YT video, FB/IG reel having to buffer and having seriously low quality. Video calls were even worse to the point that the image was very pixilated and the audio was choppy. now that I have starlink, all of that is the past. no more buffering or laggy video calls and I usually get 150+ Mbps with obstructions

Pleasant and simple. A great basic app giving you the information about the service you have. Yes, it took longer then expected to get the service in my area but it's new tech and it takes time. For me, the service is phenomenal and a definite upgrade over my old satellite service. Set up was simple too. All this said, this is not what we are here to rate. The app is clear, basic and a great tool to check out your service and how you use it.

I moved from a city to a very rural area where there is no fibre! I work from home and need a stable and fast WiFi connection. After a lot of research, I ordered the Starlink dish and have been blown away! It arrived really fast, the set up was easy and actually fascinating when you are searching for obstructions. You pay for what you get, we have no buffering, gameplay has never been quicker, video calls are stable with no freezing. If you are thinking about purchasing, don't hesitate!

still testing but considering starlink is about to be meshed across all cell phones across the planet. it's been like that since last year for most of T-Mobile customers. that's what that little satellite dish is when you see in the top right corner of your phone when you go into a dead zone, that's why you don't lose service. for everyone else, you had to volunteered to test.

I was one of those people who had this app refusing to search for obstructions because the phone permissions weren't allowing it. But they were all set correctly to allow this app the permissions. I figured out the problem. Google Maps was put into sleep mode when my phone last optimized itself. I removed Google maps from the list of sleeping apps in my phone and the problem was solved. Search for obstructions started to work immediately. So check that yourself.

Thank you Starlink. I had a little trouble, which they sorted out straight away. The connection is perfect and works excellent on all devices in my home. The speeds are literally insane. I cannot recommend highly enough to everyone, switch now to their internet service. If you are looking for secure and reliable internet there is nothing better than Starlink.

I waited a long time, however setup and confirmed, consistent signal took a solid five minutes. My speeds average is 200 Mbps down and ~35 up. I'm not sure about all the folks with issues, but I'm glad it isnt me. There are a ton of tall pines where I am and I still dont have issues, maybe interrupts every 7 minutes. Even with interrupts I can't notice anything on Netflix etc. Just very nice to have fast, unlimited access in the middle of nowhere.

I had originally bought the dish for completely different service address, then I went and switched it in the account for this address to be as the service address. It was quite easy in my profile settings. Everything seems to be running perfectly! It might not be specifically portable for in motion purposes just yet, but if you learn to use the stow option and change the service address when it is necessary; it's great!

Forget all the negative reviews, and try it for yourself. Set it up to where you have a clear view of the sky, even if it is overcast or snowing, you still have decent speed. Connection is consistent. I have experienced no drop off from any of my devices losing signal or fighting with the router to remain connected. If you live in a concrete and steel house, budget to get an additional node/router. I urge Starlink to discount the router/node for persons that already have the standard kit.

The software updates to the hardware can be frustrating. when I'm streaming and it resets 2 hours early, or has connectivity issues 8 hours early until I manually install updates, it sucks. some days, the scheduled reset time doesn't suit me at all, and would suit to be delayed 6 hours, or done 6 hours prior. Otherwise the service is amazing

service and speed are absolutely amazing. I have the mini and can plug in anywhere and so far no issues. I had some issues with the initial setup and there's absolutely noone you can call for customer support!!! that is a huge down side. if your not good with installations I'd recommend help. but once I got my service and was able to purchase wifi. it's been absolutely amazing 👏

Can't really manage a whole lot on the app, good for visibility and light administration, as that's all one can do...sign in could use an overhaul, I have to change from my browser just because the app detects that I am not using a standard browser...how about just redirect me to the website with the browser I use, instead of one you want...I pay for the service after all

Works if setup specific ways. The device running the app must have direct access to the syatlink router. Even if you want to use your own router, the one provided must be first in chain and the one directly connected to the dish. So your own router has to be the last in link. This means double down on things you don't need, like NAT, firewalls, etc. App won't work at all otherwise.

I love the Starlink service. It's great to have fast internet without having to use the local cable company. The app, however, needs some work. It used to work well. Now, it loads slowly and often just hangs up. Sometimes it says I need to connect to starlink even though I am. I can get the speed test to run maybe 50% of the time. It used be no problem. If I check outage statistics it will never return to the previous screen and, to do anything else, requires exiting and restarting the app.

Update: 15 months later and the obstruction check is still broken. Used to work fairly decent, but recent updates have made the obstructions tool flaky. We have the roaming service and often use the obstruction check when setting up camp. As of late the app often doesn't show the green dots to be collected. Sometimes trying 8-10 times will get it to work. Options for network config are limited. App works for the other basics, such as stowing and rebooting. Overall it's mostly useful.

I'm wondering if the customer support even exists. I bought the expensive hardware, paid the $50 for a month of service and used it 2 days before it says "restricted" I no longer have an active subscription. I login to the website and it confirms my subscription is active and paid up, but this hardware and the app are now just bricked. There is no way to contact support, you can only send a ticket. I did this about 5 hours ago (weekday midday) and no response not even acknowledging receipt :(

Can't connect with device! activated dish (or whatever it's called) paid for subscription, downloaded app. Then when I tried to link it to my account, it failed, showed me errors, and says device is already in use. Contacted customer support (which is non existant) and a "ticket" was created, but no more help other then a suggestion, which did not work. Tried canceling, but still being charged for the month, for services I cannot use. what a waste of $120, plus the cost of the dish.

Maybe Elon Musk is brilliant and maybe not. But the starlink app is some of the worst software ever perpetrated. Cryptic non-standard interface. It looks like and undergraduate coding project. Perhaps it was written in Pascal or Basic. I am attempting to add a mesh router. Online instructions say to do this in settings. Unfortunately, my starlink app seems to lack this ability. There is no bypass radio button in Settings. If I log onto Starlink on the web, it shows the grayed interface to choose by pass mode and says I have to do this in the app. Of course, this s cruel joke by some Muskolite pothead programmers who just needed a good laugh. My starlink was downloaded in May 2022 from the Apple Store, so it should be up to date. Maybe an ild version? So I tried to delete the app to reinstall. The icon disappears but the app is still there. I cannot reinstall it. WHAT A JOKE app. I guess they aren’t raking in enough cash to write functional software or provide ANY support. YOU ARE ON YOUR OWN. By the way, this is FACTUAL free speech, Elon.

The app is clunky and finicky and laid out poorly. And contrary to their claims, It is NOT POSSIBLE to "pause and resume service at any time". It simply doesn't auto-renew at the end of the period. There is NO pausing or pro-rating, it's 1 month increments. Period. Totally 0 advertising. Also, if you don't un-pause every few months, "If no action is taken by that date, your paused service line will be cancelled." In other words, it's a scam. Keep your service active, or you're gone. 🙄

Reprehensiblely awful app. It's constantly confused as to the status of the dish, WiFi and persistently wants to configure things that are already setup. The support for the app and starlink in general are best of breed if you are looking for the worst service imaginable. Unfortunately impact what would otherwise be a brilliant service.

I wanted to love this service. But, it isn't for me. I can't enjoy Internet that cuts out every 15 minutes. I can't get support when it takes 1-5 minutes to click between each section on the app. I've tried getting support, but they don't even allow you to send their own debug files because the character limit is too small. Here's an idea, when I click on send debug, send the file to my account in your servers. You know, like an actual tech company would do?

Been paying for service for months and haven't connected to the internet once yet. Now switched account to portability and have been in an area with service. Every night I check it and every night it still says it's waiting on an update that is supposed to take place automatically and there is no way to manually download it. Thisclose to canceling, throwing the hardware in the closet, and chalking it up to another expensive failed promise in life.
