Game is setup to take you actual YEARS to accumulate a "good" team of heroes. Been playing daily for 1.5 years & my team is only at 4k. I haven't summoned a 4* hero in about 6 months, since I stopped paying for bonuses. Quite coincidental & annoying that I play for hours every single day yet never get anything good from summons unless I pay for it. Reward playing more!!!!!!!! Also, matchmaking is unfair, in every aspect of the game.
This game is great A few versions ago, but they changed the drop rate on 5* heroes, I'm assuming to make more money. The problem is, and a I've talked to a lot of people on this, if there's not a decent chance of getting a 5* hero or weapon on a pull, why feed the machine? It's already hard enough to level your heroes, now you have to struggle with the chance of even getting them, which lately is unlikely. If this keeps up, I may have to find another game.
Great game; basically it's Empires and Puzzles with a different look and a few tweaks here and there. The player base is still small compared to E&P, making it difficult to fill an alliance with daily players. No complaints though, and it's something all Empires players looking for a break or just something a little different should absolutely play. SG, please advertise this game!! We need a bigger player base! ⭐⭐⭐⭐
This game is a total money pit. Sure they advertise it as free to play. Once you finally give in and spend money for gold, the character and weapons generators are complete garbage. Here is some 3 star idiot you can craft and already have gotten 20 of. It's a fun and enjoyable game at the beginning. I will continue to play but thats only until I hit the point where I have to spend more money to advance.
Game turned into a complete pay to play game. You no longer ever get any good rewards, or heroes, unless you pay. Never any 5* heroes or weapons, or parts to level up anything that is 5*, and the rewards suck anymore. Even the boxes at the end of path of valor are completely garbage. Not to mention the 20 ads at the game start up, now also having ads down the right side, and then ads that popup mid game. It went from a good game, to garbage from greed. If you cared, you'd fix it.
Alot of fun....but here's the thing. I've been playing this game since it came out or close to I think, and it used to be that I put a little money in and bought what I needed I could have a decent chance of getting what I wanted, whether it was weapon or hero or whatever. Now, I get basically the same 3* heroes and weapons no matter how much gold I spend or real money I put in, it's become very pay to play heavy which takes away the fun. I also wish there was a way to trade with other players
First I would like to say I won't spend a penny on this game, It would be the same as throwing money in the street. Furthermore the game play is ridiculously lopsided. For instance, your teams power will exceed that of your opponent and you'll lose ridiculously. The tiles are against you, and the opponents charge is always incredibly fast. They'll attack with two special attacks before you can use one!
Good overall game with depth of tactics to overcome enemies. Join teams with players your size. Strongly suggest knowing if you wish to spend some money after a month or 2. Joining a team with similar buying is ideal so you are matched with similar power people. Joining strong teams is tough as enemies are tougher. Its a game designed to play for months, not days. 3* because there are far too many pop up event sales. pop ups are annoying.
The game is decent. But it takes too long to accomplish certain goals like leveling up unless you spend real money. My biggest complaint however is that you are hit with like 50 pop ups as soon as you open the game so if you want to just open it and do something quickly you cant because you have to close a ton of pop up windows before you can do anything else. I get you want to let me know about things in the game but there has to be a better way to do so...like the in game mail box
The game itself is nice. Matching puzzle for combat linked with colors for damage levels against your enemies. The issue and it's a big one is that it's a game that makes you wait or buy upgrades and also you have an energy level to play the puzzles. I understand that these things drive your income for the app but having both forms is absurd! If you do away with the energy bar, I would reinstall and play, but not having two different money grabs. Didn't play long enough but there's probably ads
Definitely a "pay to win" game. It limits how fast you can upgrade unless you pay. Even by saving up rations, it won't let you upgrade unless you pay to allow you to upgrade. Only other way is to sit there and annoyingly wait, and wait, and wait as you very very slowly endure loses before it lets you upgrade without paying. I'm only keeping it to gain points for a golf game I do play often.
After you get so far, it's near a miracle to level up. Additive but frustrating. In Wars, you can match player levels, but they have unfair advantages not available to the attackers and nothing to even things out, so it's hard to beat them. Some Wars even automatically heal THEM, but not attackers. It's a great game in a lot of ways, but the "it's the little things that kill." EDIT: I was spending 💰 but I wasn't doing any better with my chances of getting anything I needed
I actually really do enjoy this game and am very active. Great artwork and whole idea is addicting. However, now that I've progressed in the game, the rewards from story levels and weapons summoned don't seem to get any better. You'd think the longer you play, you'd continue to receive better weapons and rewards. Yet after months, I'm still getting the same weapons and rewards i did during my first week in the game and still playing with 3*s and 4*s. Not a 5* in sight.
This is a really fun & challenging game. But, unless you're willing to pay out real cash, to get some of your fighter's upgrades quicker, you'd better be ready to have a lot of patience with the leveling up process, & the 'in game' cash awards are really low; a lot more so than other games of this same genre, that I've played. I haven't coughed up any cash, yet, & I probably won't...but I have patience! Still, it's a lot of fun, good visuals, a LOT of variety with the characters, & it's free!
I've played empires and puzzles for years..was getting to a point that I couldn't really do anything but get new heroes and the events pretty redundant. And it shortened the POV becoming even more of a "money grab". So was about ready to punch out when I saw the new game with the same format etc. The difference is that they use guns instead of troops and the heroes are more like regular people but the best part is coins for 345*s after each map section, so less $grab. Gr8 so far:)
I've never played a game that stunted player growth this fast. I've been playing a few hours & already want to give up because I can't gain enough resources to level up ANYTHING. Usually it takes a few days to get to this point, this game you get there by the end of a long tutorial. They shouldn't use the same resources for training heroes as leveling them. The only thing I like is artwork. I hope they change it & allow players to gain resources easier in the beginning, until then I'll pass.
Massive prevalence of pay to play. Be prepared to spend a lot of money or wait months to progress. Free to play is an option. But everything can be bought. If you lose a standard storyline battle, for example, you are forced to choose between paying to continue or "Give Up" (horrible wording). This means you either pay money or fall behind. It's fun for maybe a week, then you just feel the need to buy stuff in order to play. In response: f2p is barely an option. You're greedy! It's ridiculous.
I play this game religiously, but my gripes are the heroes selections when you get a summons. It will give you the same hero back to back on the draw, it takes a long time to reach levels, the wars are mismatched, the chat is blah, you can't use emoji unless, I'm missing an upgrade or somethin, and the rewards in war raids and beating a war machine are mediocre at best. I've made friends playing this game, so I stay and play. Overall, it's not bad. The algorithms just suck on a draw in a summon.
I actually really enjoyed this game and have been playing for 8 months. The board is smoother and less glitchy than empires and puzzles and its got a nice GI Joe type theme. But the problem, which really outweighs everything else is that you really cant advance even when spending money. I have been playing for 8 months and after spending at least $100 a month, have not been able to get one 5 star hero. Sure, I have like 30 4 stars, but seems Ive capped out and I cant compete with other teams
First the is one of the few games I liked (I started before there was an app store) so much I actually threw money at it. I would have become a whale except recent updates severely impacted playability. The drop rates for exceptional heroes was already very small compared to other apps (~1.5% vs. 5%) in addition the only viable method of obtaining premium draws is via the cash shop. The last update reduced to drop rate by a third. While it is possible to earn enough credits for a single chance at a premium drop...it would take the average user, 1 hour a day for 10 months given 20 credits per event on a 2 month rotation as you 100. Mind you that’s for a 1% chance of an event legendary. Compare this some (like top in category) games where you can have 5 of the rarest heroes within 1 week or 4 hours of play without spending a dime. That’s a statistical superiority of 500 to 1. Basically we have to ask ourselves how vaulable is our leisure time and weigh the rate of return. While we did enjoy our stay, sadly our clan and our wallets are moving on. Thank you for the review. We're sorry to hear you didn't enjoy the game. If you have further feedback, feel free to send it over. MUST AY TO ADVANCE. Otherwise it will take 1 year just to get started. That’s a fact. They always say it’s free, but only if you are ok with 1 minute of gameplay every other day. I get why they made another of the same game. They made billions off E&P, so why not play on the stupid people and remake it. Well this fails miserably. You need unique characters to make people interested, this has none of that. E&P is NOT pay to play, unless you are greedy. I took the slow root and am doing great. This game, I am at a standstill at lvl 5 buildings as resources are scarce in this version. Played for 2 days, then quit as it was boring, not rewarding with cool characters, and scarce resources make it even slower to progress unless you pay (which many suckers will do to be the top dogs in a lame game) AVOID AT ALL COSTS, HORRIBLE EVEN FOR A FREE. ZERO stars is the real rating. Thank you for your review. Puzzle Combat is completely free to play. We do offer in-game purchases for those who wish to play at a slightly faster pace, however, all players receive the exact same chances to progress. Should you have further feedback, please do not hesitate to send it through to us at https://smallgiantgames.helpshift.com/
This game is similar to Empires & Puzzles but the gameplay is faster and I would say better. There’s always plenty to do whether it be events, PVP, war machines, story missions, and so on. The game isn’t all about summoning 5 star heroes. If it’s anything like E&P then I’m sure there are plenty of 4 star that are really good. Even having a solid team of 3 stars is beneficial for events. If you want to spend money then the VIP pass is worth it and a great value. Just be patient, find a fun alliance and enjoy the game.
Those who are complaining that this is exactly the same as E&P are missing the big picture. I’ve been playing E&P for a couple years now and what I love about this game (read: opportunity) is that I’m going in knowing exactly how to play, and know exactly what I need to do differently than I did with E&P. Will I spend money? Sure, I’ll spend what I spend on E&P: $50 for the annual VIP pass, and that’s it. I think $50 per year for a game I enjoy is fair. Now having said all that I will agree with the general consensus that the tutorial is WAY too long, especially for those of us who know what we’re doing. A suggestion for the dev team: offer a way to opt out of the tutorial. Seriously, this game is exactly the same as E&P, so let the seasoned players just play. In summary, it’s nice to have a fresh coat of paint on a very familiar piece of furniture.
I play the game and overall I enjoy it as I am in a group of people whom I enjoy. Collection of “heroes” and their development is also something I enjoy, however that joy is waning due to the horrible pRNG system used by the devs. I have spent plenty to grow my roster but I will be ending that monetary support due to the horrific odds at pulling top heroes for free. The odds are listed as 5% however as of this writing, I am at 55 consecutive pulls without a 5* hero from my training school. While I recognize that this is statistically possible, it seems highly improbable that I would have a teammate who went even longer (1:77 I believe). To have two players in one alliance of 27 total have such miserable luck is in fathomable. If you play, feel free to spend as you wish but be aware that trying to grow a free roster will take a lifetime. Cheers. UPDATE: now 0-59 and ready to quit this silly pit of a game. Devs are unresponsive and likely do not care since the property is being sold again. Typical, drain as much money as feasible from the play base then kick it over for someone else to try. Pffft If you could submit a report through our in-game support system, we would be more than happy to investigate this matter further. Our support center can be accessed by tapping Menu (bottom right) → Options → SUPPORT → SUPPORT. Use the button in the top right corner to reach us (Android: speech bubble, iOS: Contact Us).

Quite coincidental & annoying that I play for hours every single day yet never get anything good from summons unless I pay for it. Reward playing more!!!!!!!! Also, matchmaking is unfair, in every aspect of the game.
