Panera is where I go only when I can afford to spurgle a little since it's a very pricey option. It's also been apparent for some time that the size of some of their items have become smaller while the prices have either stayed the same or have increased. However, one can't argue with the quality, freshness, and selections in their menu.
The app is very easy to use. It has many options that allow you to choose how you wish to customize your different food and drink items. It's very easy to apply rewards and use the offers. All the food that I ordered which included a bread bowl soup and a salad were prepared exactly as I asked. Hot items were hot and cold ones were cold.
The menu is deep and has tons of options. The UI of the app sometimes gets in the way and leads to errors. Also, the experience in the app varies quite a bit from the web experience, which can be even glitchier. Also, the app behaves differently depending on the store I'm ordering from. Sometimes, the app won't let me order for immediate pickup. I can only assume that different stores have ways to throttle traffic originating on the app. You get no warning that ASAP ordering isn't available
Great for ordering with kids in the cafe at a table, great for on the go-stopping by to pick up ur order. Although, I come here all the time. I don't always use the app (u can use #), but now I'm realizing that even when u give them ur phone # at the speaker, u don't get any rewards. Maybe I just don't know what I am doing, but the reward scheme here seems insurmountable. I've been here 18+ times in the past 6 months and have and never had a reward, hmm, it won't keep me from eating here tho.
App won't let me log in. I enter my email address, and it goes to a page asking me to enter the email address again. It's stuck in a loop. Clearing the memory didn't help. I have missed out on my free birthday pastry, because it wouldn't let me log in. Edited review: App allows me to log in successfully now. Still only 4 stars, because app problems caused me to miss out on my birthday reward.
Overall the app is good. I'd like the ability to add extra ice/ remove ice from drinks or an area to add special instructions. When I want extra dressing for a salad, I would like to be able to also indicate I want the dressing on the side, not choose extra OR on the side. Those are just 2 examples of things that could bring this up to a 5 star from me. The kiosks in the store only allow the same choices. Overall though, I don't have issues using the app.
I have been using the app for years, and have no complaints about it. My complaint is about the delivery option. They use Doordash, and twice now the delivery driver has stolen my order. they sit in a parking lot for 2 hours (I can see it on the map), then go back to the restaurant, then disappear. Trying to get a refund or redelivery is a nightmare. My point is that the app is great, but not for delivery.
App needs to be able to provide better ETA estimates for busy restaurants. I arrived a couple minutes after my order was supposed to be ready and they hadn't even started yet. And I received a notification after my pick up time which would have been nice to have before I made my way to the restaurant. Not sure where the issue lies here but it was upsetting.
The app itself mostly works fine, the up selling pop-ups are a little aggressive and cause friction and delays when you just want to order quick. But recently it's been logging me out and won't let me log back in. I can log in on the website and the tablets in store, but the app doesn't recognize my account, the 2-factor texting a code to my phone never sends no matter how many times I ask, any time of day, any day of the week, it just doesn't work. sometimes reinstalling works, sometimes not.
App works fine, but the UI and overall experience could use polish. I submitted a pickup order and assumed it went through, only to find out later it didn’t process until I woke my phone back up—by then, I was already at the café. Not ideal when you’re in a hurry. Needs better feedback and background processing.
The app keeps signing me out, telling me my password is incorrect, and forcing me to reset it every single time I try to access a page that requires login. I know my password. The app refuses to recognize it. I also signed up for a two-month free trial of the Sip Club, but was charged immediately. Another thing: if you go to the drive-thru without pre-ordering in the app, they’ll ask for your phone number. It’ll link to your account to apply coupons, but your purchase won’t count toward rewards.
Removing items from the cart/basket if its not ordered immediately is a nuisance. I can't use the 'order later' option because I generally don't know when that'll be, so I add everything to the cart so it'll be ready to go once I am. Except I just tried to do that and the cart was empty, so now I get to waste time doing everything again. Awesome! Yes, there could be issues with availability or timing etc, but that's what warning popups are for. Don't just toss the whole thing out the window.
There are too many issues. It automatically removes all ingredients from the sandwich every time you pick Customize in the sandwich section. In Baked Goods Feast, it doesn't let you add any item to replace out of stock items. So you end up with three items in '6-pack'. Says You've reached the limit.
Since most recent update, the app freezes a lot. I have to restart it and start orders from the beginning. Update: The app logged me out, and now I can't log back in! I had to order at the kiosk in the store. Also, most of the fruit drinks are not self-serve, but there's no way to order as "No ice." I have to arrive 9 minutes before pickup time to intercept the order and tell someone. Very inconvenient!
Cannot log in on the app. I already have an account, so I'll tap sign in, enter my email, hit continue, and i'm right back to the join or sign in window. I've tried clearing my app cache and data, restarting my phone, uninstalling and reinstalling. I've tried just being on data or just being on wifi. No dice. 🤷♀️ I can use the website, but I won't have access to the app only rewards which is a dealbreaker.
I have had this app for years, through countless updates, and have been a sip club member. This app, along with their website, for ordering is absolute dogsh!t. Constant crashes and wipes your entire order. It's incredibly frustrating when I have to put in my order several times, often to the point where I just don't care anymore and give up.
Garbage app. I was ordering when I minimized to check out another app really quick for a few minutes, when I went back to the Panera app it completely trashed my entire cart which I had meticulously customized. This is unacceptable for an ordering app. It is pretty basic in this day and age to have data saved when you move from one app to the next.
I am pretty tech savvy and this is Still the worst app out there. They keep making ot worse with every update. Every other app I use allows me to save favorite locations. Not Panera. Nope, 3 extra steps or turn on locations to be directed to a cafe in a far away location. Repeating orders is easy on every other app but this one. Subcontractors from literally any other company could help you.
Holy lord, please fix this app. Every time someone tries to use it, the app stops working and makes them reopen it every time they try to go to a different page. Want to check out? Nope, you have to close the app and restart from the beginning. Reinstalling doesn't help. And it doesn't matter what phone is used, or even if you have the literal WI-FI of the gods.
The good: it remembers my orders and my address, and it even allows me to add offers to my cart. The bad: The app is slow and sometimes buffers forever, processing payments is an issue for me since it would constantly say that the code isn't valid anymore even if there isn't a code entered and the same order works on my computer, and the customization options are limiting compared to what the store actually offers. Edit: You can not get tracking info for deliveries if it forgets the order.
