Update 6/17/25, this update is much better, just have to touch command buttom and it sends the command, nice job developers! This update isn't much better than the previous updates. Now, it takes me at least 3 times to hold the command button to finally send the selected command. As with the last major update, having to hold the button till command is sent is a pain and when you're walking, is damn near impossible, very temperamental. There has to be a better platform.
Excellent. Glitchy at times hence the 4 stars but all around I like it. Also, I cannot get the location alerts to work. I have set them up and deleted them numerous times but still no actual alert. It's odd because this worked flawlessly on the myBuick app even as recently as last month
Still not working well, car status updates usually require relaunching the app several times. Remote start almost never works the first time, rarely on the second and occasionally on the third. Another issue is with Android Auto, if I get out for a few minutes, when I return, the car doesn't recognize the phone's return and I have to restart it to reconnect. I'm still unable to figure out how to set departure times.
REMOTE START ERROR FIXED! Like most everyone here I originally got the error when trying to remote start my car from the app. It seemed to be timing out so I found a work around to this bug. Open the app, go first into vehicle status and pull down to refresh, THEN go into key fob and start the vehicle. The first step establishes connection to the vehicle. Since implementing this work around I have had 100% success rate with the remote start through the app.
Has always worked great (I've been using it for over 7 years now). But unfortunately has 1 major flaw for me. That's the remote start. In the past once you used remote start in the app, you could extend it by selecting it again. Now once the car is remote started, you only have the choice to stop the engine by selecting it again. Instead you now have to wait until the car turns off (after 10 min) before you can restart it for 10min. The key fob still allows you to extend the remote start time.
UPDATE 2021: New app is too slow. Updating and then it doesn't connect. Starting remotely is ridiculously slow. Had to use key fob for quicker response. App definitely needs work. In recent months the app is extremely slower that usual. Updating takes longer than usual too. The remote start works sometimes, and usually after a second command. If I want to send address to car, it "thinks" for a while before I get an error. It doesn't work. What is the next step?
Lots of bugs, crashes often requiring a uninstall and reinstall about once a week. Slow. Wish it had a "charge started" time when I plug in and apply an overnight charging schedule. For some reason, gives me an annoying notification EVERY SINGLE TIME I open it, to tell me that I opened it. Same problems on two different phones where I have the app installed
It's great when it's working properly. Now it's saying "1 Alert" everything is OK with my vehicle unable to clear this Alert. Have uninstalled and reinstalled app several times nothing has worked. Also keep getting a pop-up window "Unexpected error has occurred check for app update" Been on the phone with OnStar Connection Service Team they were unable to resolve the issue. They sent the issue to their next level and have not heard back at all. Very frustrating.
Most annoying thing is the persistent notification about the "Trusted Device" service being active. As far as I can tell this does nothing and there is no way to turn the notification off other than to block all notifications from the app which I'd really like to not have to do for fear of missing an important one. Also, the app is super slow to update the charging status of the car and the map only loads half the time (even on a strong WiFi signal). Very disappointed in GM's software team.
Useless. We pay a monthly service for this app and it hardly ever works. No mention of any updates (assuming that is why it's not working)and when you truly need it..pre-start your car in cold weather, tracking your vehicle etc. It never works! Would not complain if it was still free, but since you want to charge..upgrade the experience. Thank you.
This updated version sucks! It's like I'm holding the start button forever, only to get to my car; and it's not started. Please bring back the previous version, I had absolutely no problems with that version. I push the button; wait a few seconds, and I get a notification when my car is started which was extremely fast. I am so not a fan of the newer version!
It used to work great, but the App stopped working. I haven't been able to remote start my car for a while and I just saw that my diagnostics last updated 4 weeks ago. I drive every day, so there is something wrong with the app. I logged out, restarted the app, checked for update, etc., to no avail. It is unfortunate because the app was very convenient, now it is useless.
Most functions have never worked. remote start takes 5-10 minutes to actually work when it does work (maybe 2 out of 10 times). I canceled my account and was charged again the next day (4 days after making a payment) the customer service person said they could not explain this... When calling to cancel I was hung up on and reps were incredibly rude.
I rarely leave comments, but this app/car communication is so bad that I'm compelled to leave a comment. I don't know if it's the car or the app, but they don't like each other. I wish I could leave (-)negative stars. Trying to start my car before leaving work in 25 degrees would feel amazing if the app actually started the car, but it fails more often than it works. It takes way too long for the car to update the app. My level of disappointment is about as high as the cost of the car.
The app just text at 5am to say I literally had 0% oil and 0 psi tire pressure, when I had 65% oil and 42 psi when I went to bed. After getting out of bed to check what the problem was, while running the vehicle and sitting in their for a moment the error finally corrected itself. And all the number went back normal. Please fix the bug in the app!! Update: It happened again, I'll be in contact. Thank you, Kayla.
Actually, the app works quite well and has significantly improved in the few months I've owned the car. But I'm giving it a low rating because it's pushing advertisements / special offer notifications at me which I can't disable without also disabling important charging-related notifications. Stop pinging me with special offers and I'll consider a better rating.
The latest update broke Trusted Devices. I can't set up a trusted device for a vehicle that is shared with me, and a previously trusted device no longer unlocks the profile in our car, because the trusted device Android service no longer remains running in the background. Notifications just don't work reliably. I'll get a notification that charging is complete maybe 1 every 20 times. And it takes forever to connect to car to get the current charge and run commands. App is not tested whatsoever.
Absolute trash. Takes forever to connect to my Escalade IQ or just doesn't at all, it fails to update charge settings or provide any updated details about the car remotely. Constantly trying to refresh or force close and re-open with no success getting updated data. After coming from Tesla and Rivian where the tech was fully integrated, this experience is an absolute joke. I should be able to use the app and it work seamlessly, but it's not even worth having on my phone in its current state.
How embarrassing to have an app that you need to be able to rely on especially for charging and it works 0% of the time and it has occasionally worked for my husband. The charging is never aligned, can never change the % to charge to. The amount of miles left is never in sync. And I can never see what my charge is at while its charging. Totally pointless Cadillac should be ashamed to have an app this bad especially when its a much needed app to rely on.
It's extremely slow to communicate with my Lyriq, like unbearably slow. I really wish I had a third party option, because I'd ditch this POS in a heartbeat. It's so bad that's it's not even just an annoyance, it's actually painful to use. I hate it. I hate that I can't just easily change my target charge cap without wondering if the update actually went through or without having to restart my phone because it's quit responding. I have a Galaxy S25 Ultra and always great connection.
