It's findings aren't always 100% accurate but it's pretty good! And, if it's wrong, you usually find the correct species in it's list of look-alikes! Been using the app for quite some time now. It's like going to a friend who knows a lot about mushrooms but like anybody, isn't perfect. And that's okay because the app itself tells you to double check it's identifications with a professional as the creator(s) know it's not perfect. And that my friends, is respectable..

This app has been 100% free to use... Mycologys been an interest for around 30 years to me. However, identifying ageric bodies (mushroom) has always seemed a bit daunting and scary. After taking a short time to learn the most basic anatomy of the fruiting organ, and with this app, I now realize the fear was silly. I find the app to be accurate and easy-to-use. Also, I love being aware and close to the Fungi kingdom, without being part of it (at least not yet!). Thanks Devs and participants.

I've been collecting wild mushrooms for 30 years but I haven't tried an automated identification app before. I tested it on a series of fresh mushrooms that I was certain of. Despite being in the beta stage the photo identifier worked every time. This especially amazed me because there was no reference ruler or size scale in the photos. Nice app!

Great suggestions to help if you are uncertain. However it is of course best if you know what you are looking for already. This app is to support people who are already somewhat sure of what they are eating, rather than a total novice. It would be nice if there were a community sharing option, as well as a (community-sourced) tool to find where certain edible species are located. Preparation instructions might also be nice for species that are less familiar!

With the help of this very easy to navigate app in the last 2 years downloading it and using it as my "go to" I have learned a treasure trove of detailed and very well photographed information and because of this one app i have grown from a one month out of an entire year "morels in season" enthusiast ; with one single kind of fungii to locate and harvest (if you're lucky) very well informed mushroom hunter and now I can storage *year round* with confidence . Thank you

The two ID apps I have regular success with are Mushroom Identificator and Seek by iNaturalist. Both of them work very well if you take multiple photos of the organism, Mushroom Identificator works well with photos taken through the app in live time, Seek does not. I got the full version, so it's nice without ads and the IDs seem to be accurate so far. My only problem is that there is nowhere for me to log my own ID'd fungi. It would be nice to have a log with a space to write notes/add pics

I was skeptical about it being a picture ID system, but I think they nailed the way to do it. Adding information about the stem and the gill/pore type is an excellent way to narrow the choices. Also, having a long list of similar types makes the chance of a good identification much better. My only suggestion would be to narrow choices by location (not gps location)

Way better and more accurate than other similar apps for fungi identification. Photo results are not always 100% accurate, which is understandable as nature pics can be very noisy, but you will probably find the right one among the other suggestions if you scroll down the list of alternatives.

So far hasn't been the most accurate. Seems like it gets fairly close, which they specify is the case in the app, so no big deal. What I really don't like is that if you choose to take a picture of a mushroom you've found, it doesn't save the picture or give you any kind of history of what you've searched. If you don't take it with your regular camera, that information is just gone.

I downloaded it as it looked promising. Then I read the privacy policy part. Well, you don't even state what type of data you collect. Leaving me hanging in the air. Collecting "several different types of data", etc is not exactly adequate to gain my trust. Also, I can't see how knowing every possible data of my phone including IP address, etc can improve an app. No matter how helpful an app may be sometimes we just have to say no. And it is my turn to do it. Best wishes, Krisztina

I was looking for an app similar to iNaturalist to use at my workplace for help with identification. I figured I'd give this a try as it had a lot of downloads and high rating. The overall ascetic could definitely use some work. Seems very bland and dull. Other than that, the recognition system itself could use some tweaking. I imputed a type of coral fungus and was presented with over 75% of cap and stem species. Great idea but needs a lot of work for sure.

Suggesting a species for someone, the text is to small. I often select one I dont want to, and I cant change it. Add a may be not just yes or no. Lack of edible mushrooms as well. Give instructions to people taking pictures to show a picture of the substrate and or tree it is found on. A lot of bad pictures. Bring back the market place that was cool. Make the quiz harder.

I was able to successfully identify a mushroom ONE time. Each successive time, the page would just never load other than asking me to rate the app. Rating the app after only one use seems a little thirsty, yet I did so, thinking that my not doing so yet was keeping me from being able to use the app. Didn't make any difference, though. In addition, because I used the app when I was on the road, that location is now locked in, and I can't change it. I've clicked on just about everything to no avail. At this point, I'm not particularly happy with this app... Update: after wasting entirely too much time on this, trying to make it work, I'm just thoroughly disgusted, and I'm uninstalling this useless POS!

In it's current state this app is worthless. It would be a lot better if it asked more questions such as growing substrate, location, time of year. Also when the results are given the user needs more than a picture and name, full description of all mushroom rates should be given so user can sort out the results. As it is now you are asking the user to ID the mushroom for YOU by a single picture. I hope you find this useful.
