Features
The meterUP Parking mobile app has several features that make parking in the city more convenient. One of the main features is the ability to pay for parking directly from your phone, eliminating the need to carry around coins or visit a parking meter. The app also allows users to extend their parking time remotely, so they don't have to rush back to their car when their time is running out.
Another useful feature of the meterUP app is the ability to locate available parking spots in real-time, helping users find a parking space more quickly and easily. The app also provides notifications when parking time is about to expire, helping users avoid parking tickets.
How to Use
Using the meterUP Parking mobile app is simple and straightforward. First, users need to download the app from the app store and create an account. Once the account is set up, users can enter their payment information and start using the app to pay for parking.
To use the app, users simply need to enter their parking zone number, select the amount of time they want to park, and confirm their payment. If they need to extend their parking time, they can do so directly from the app without having to return to their vehicle.
Pros & Cons
One of the main advantages of the meterUP Parking mobile app is the convenience it offers. Users can easily pay for parking and extend their time without having to visit a parking meter. The app also helps users find available parking spots more easily, saving time and frustration.
However, one potential downside of the app is that it requires a stable internet connection to function properly. This could be a problem in areas with poor connectivity. Additionally, some users may be hesitant to enter their payment information into a mobile app due to security concerns.

While I find it odd that the app will let you mistakenly pay for parking on the same car in the same zone twice, and it doesn't give you any information on how to fix this, it eventually reverses the additional charge and you get your $ back. Still frustrating that you can over pay for parking due to app error, and that you can also think you paid for parking due to app error. On 2 different occasions the app froze and I had $35+ ticket on my window instead of $15 all-day parking fee.
Little difficult to find the app, and selecting payment option wasn't clear. I saw the plus sign at the bottom right corner, but the rest of the screen was blank, so I went back the first time. Then when I was sent back to payment history, I guessed at the next step (pressing the plus sign. After that, the process was smooth.
Convenient, but... be prepared for Transaction Fees when you park, extend time, and end park. I was charged $0.40 for each, adding $1.20 to the $5.00 parking charge. Also, it will let you park longer than allowed while charging you double and triple the rate. Read the fine print. I would have rated 5 stars otherwise.
It used to work so well, now it can't connect to the network when you put in a location or scan the #3 code, has become useless. Most people complained about the additional cc fee, but i always thought it was negligible when you could stop parking. Now its a totally useless app. Problaly a PPA change again that we have yet to be informed about. Making me long for a meter to use with an old PPA smartcard
No in-app notifications on meter expiration (like the old MeterUp app had before it went defunct). There are email notifications, but whatever email service they're using causes the emails to be delayed by several minutes. Kind of defeats the purpose if I have a $36 ticket before the computer figures out what time it is. Or given it's the PPA, maybe that is the purpose.
Every time I try to pay for a spot using the app, it keep saying "sign in". After you sign in it ask you "how long"then sign in
login link loop bug still persisting. Just use it to find zones ahead of time, but beyond that expect to have to use the kiosk.
In the running for potentially the worst app I've ever used. They took the decently serviceable ParkMobile app and just trashed it. Parking notifications will persist even after you've cancelled the parking, parking expiration reminders only work half the time, and they're never "on time" for 15 minutes before, text reminders don't work at all. All around this app is absolutely miserable, just like the PPA, but we're stuck with it as it's the only option besides using the kiosk.
Beware! I used this app 3 times around spring garden. 2 diffrent zones on 3 diffrent days. Guess how many expired meter tickets I got? 3 !!! Currently online disputing them but that's such an inconvenience for something i did the right way. For some reason the app doesn't reflect on the kiosks so the parking authority just gives out tickets.
I paid for parking on the app one evening and received a ticket. Disputed the claim, sent them screenshots of the receipt and my license plate (which are not on the receipt for some reason). Called them only to find out that the receipt was not registered on their website. In addition to the parking, you must also pay for a transaction fee. What transaction, if it did not take? This app and the PPA are a joke. USE THIS APP AT YOUR OWN RISK.
Unusable on my phone (Android) for over a year. You need to be logged in to pay, but it's blocked. After entering username/password, I'm emailed a link, but clicking the link doesn't complete the login and I'm stuck in an endless loop. Others have reported this but even on the latest version this is still broken.
Endless loop trying to log in. I get the link, click it, and I'm just sent to the app home screen as if nothing happened. Tried contacting support and they said they didn't deal with that and sent me the Member Services number. MS says they don't handle the app, only the payment side of things (rep tried to help, but was unsuccessful). Only reason I haven't gotten a ticket yet is due to my handicap placard. If I get a ticket, I'm taking it to traffic court. This has been going on for months!
The only way to log in is through a "magic link" that sends a link to your email to log in. Unfortunately, it appears to be dark magic because the link never actually logs you in, and instead just opens the app without actually doing anything. I don't know why they did away with passwords which have worked well since the dawn of computers and the Internet. Now, I have no choice but to pay for parking like it's the 1990s. Give is an option to log in with a password and fix the magic links!
App is trash! I've restarted my phone, updated the app, deleted the app and reinstalled it, yet it refuses to work. I can't sign into my account, or create an account. It's like the app has froze up. Meanwhile I have started a session, and need to know how much time I have left on my meter. If I get a ticket, me and PPA will get real acquainted, real quick! PS, I've deleted the app again, and will not be reinstalling.
Almost as soon as I installed this app (about 1 week later), I got TWO notices that said my email and password were both compromised from this app. Now I have to change passwords on virtually everything I use. Not to mention, they most likely have my license number! I now have to monitor EVERYTHING to make sure nothing else is hacked as a result of this breach.
i started a parking session and set an alarm so i know when to extend my session. when i went back into the app, it said that it 'failed to refresh' and I could not see my session even though the app indicated there was an active session. Figured I'd move to another zone and try a new session. When I got to my car, there was a ticket. Thanks MeterUp. I wish there was a way to send the ticket to you for your lousy app. Bad enough you have to pay DOUBLE to extend, app failures get you tickets too.
Terrible app, minutes and hour numbers are so jumbled that you cannot key them in. I have to keep scrolling thru the minutes to get more time. Meanwhile the vultures are circling around your car waiting for you to stop fiddling with the app if they're in a good mood. I'm looking into other parking apps, plus it doesn't notify you when your minutes are running out even if you hit reminder. MeterUp is effed up
Paying on this app costs way more than at the stations. The prices on this app change all the time for the same spot. I got curious and checked at the terminal by the spot and parking for two hours was 4.75. That's fine. Check on the app. More than 15 dollars. And that isn't even including the service charge. I figured the service charge was the difference but apparently there is a HUGE markup for no reason. Don't use this app if you have the option. Just use the terminals by the spot.
