appears to be a pretty damn good app, does what it's supposed to to. really easy to use, and is helpful in multiple ways... my only complaint is that when trying to check digital footprint, it doesn't really give enough time to get & enter the code you have to get. if you can't be really quick(like 10, maybe 15 seconds), you won't be able to do it 😓

Malwarebytes was able to detect and fix some PC issues caused by browser hijacks even though the antivirus software from Microsoft was ignoring them. The process was pretty easy and painless. Best of all I got to do it for free. The software is free to try and fully functional for a couple of weeks. Once I saw how well it improved and protected the affected computer I decided to get the family subscription. Just the security evaluation it does is worth the price. I'm a happy customer!

Seems to work on, 2 complaints though. It keeps adding a notification that can't be gotten rid of that seems completely wasteful to me. It will also add a notification that it found something wrong, yet when I open it up no messages and everything is in the green. So very 0 alert prone.

Editing my review. original review had been that it says "Free" when it's a free Trial. While that's 0 of the extended stuff like VPN, they do offer some things totally free. I am editing because I was wrong. If you don't want the extended things, just click on the X and it will let you use the basic version for no payment asked for or received.

Although this app is industry leading, Android free version, database updates are incredibly slow to occur: usual download less than 0.10 kB/s. Phone number checker now works for Australian mobile numbers (Yay!). I feel pricing is high for the paid versions given others offer more features, but I believe still the best malware tool. Add $40 p.a for VPN but no info on speed, data or POP's makes this a blind choice. 😟 An Adware version with half the features of VPN speed/pops would be awesome!

While it did help me remove a couple unwanted files/apps from my phone, it will not find the source for my phone randomly playing music. This has been an ongoing issue for the last month now, & I don't want to get it serviced yet. While it doesn't happen constantly, it DOES wake me up in the middle of the night even with my media volume turned off.. The music is in a different language, & it happens to only play when the screen is turned off. I was hopeful. Just disappointed now. Thanks anyway.

Once upon a time, a long time ago this app automatically ran scans on the days and times I requested. I had requested a daily scan to run at 12:30 AM, and I literally could set my clock by it. At that time, it also updated its database as needed. Fast forward to today. I can request a daily scan at a given time, but it almost never happens. Most of the time I have to do it manually. I do not request an automatic database update because it does it whenever, costing me a lot of data.

I love Malwarebytes for malware, and virus protection. For that reason alone, it's worth it. However, I am very frustrated with the VPN. It wouldn't auto connect (although I had it set for this), it disconnected constantly, and it made my phone extremely slow. I finally disabled the Malwarebytes VPN, and got another one, and all is great, but I wish this one had worked.

but I tried to sign up, nowhere anywhere on their sign up for subscription page does it tell you how many devices it covers. I went ahead and tried the 7-Day free trial for the basic and it only covers one device. like I said nowhere anywhere in their subscription lists and details does it say anything about how many devices. I shouldn't have to call support just to find out information that most security apps provide immediately

I dislike this app. It is always in the foreground, distracting me saying it is protecting me. Like an unwanted ad (and I paid for it). Please please give it a background mode, so that is isn't in your face all the time! For the second time, I am forced to uninstall this app. UPDATE I've reduced my score to 2 stars Simply put, the android app does not remember that I've purchased a subscription through Windows. Waste of time. it used to be a good app (two years ago). I'll formally notify soon.

With the latest update the free version, which I've used for years, doesn't seem to be available anymore. I know you've said to others that it can be accessed through the PAYWALL page but I've looked all over the sign in and subscription pages and can't find it. I've looked on your website and can't find any reference to it either. I know you want users to pay of course. if you still do have the free version, please describe in exact detail how to find it. it seems very well hidden.Thank you

I do not like that the safe browsing permissions seem to be turning themselves off. I am forever having to turn them on even having the app tell me they are off when they seem to be on forcing me to turn off and back on to get the app to acknowledge they are on. I also find scanning for viruses taking extremely different lengths of time making me wonder if it is Infact doing a full scan each time

all was going well and I was impressed with the 7 day trial version which I installed today. did the footprint check and it invited me to 7 day trial of plus version. I agreed and it stated would be billed 25 July. so I continued and was charged £45 immediately!! not happy as should have had 7 days free trial. this all within 1 hrs of installing app. I have cancelled within 10 mns of being charged and would like a refund please. I have requested one through Google Play as can't contact you.

Downloaded on my computer and it worked perfect - it found and cleaned up my computer. Downloaded on my phone, and it opens up to a frozen screen and crashs a couple seconds later. Unistalled, restarted my phone, redownloaded and had the same result. Phone software is verified up to date. I will update my review as soon as it works properly on my phone, but until then, it won't work at all for me, so I cannot rate it well.

Won't let me past "turn on notifications" screen. App is forcing me to turn them on. Why? What's so important that I need them on? I've read that your notifications are mainly trying to sell upgrades and act more like ads than actual notifications. What say you? Edit 1: I can't issue a ticket cause the app won't let me past the mandated notification setup. It wasn't updated per your reply. still forces one to allow notifications before moving forward. why can't y'all get this right?

The new update made it worse to where it runs slower it doesn't do nothing but when you scan it takes longer to scan with the same amount of apps. And not only that if there's threats what can it do it don't tell us that it can remove any threats in any way just to let us know that if there is any threats. And want you to update and download other parts in the app for other reasons. Plus you got to pay for the full version. I'm not even sure if this app is even telling me the truth or not. 💳too

Tried to uninstall and reinstall to solve problems getting this to work correctly. Caused even more problems. Think I'll forget about it. Original review: Nuisance sign in process. After signing in they send a secure code to your email. You leave app to check email, and when you come back, you have to start the whole process all over again.

This review is subject to change, but as of now, I am far from pleased with this app. I paid for a subscription to deal with intrusive pop-up ads, which have made using my phone nearly impossible. Little or no improvement thus far, and I am having difficulty contacting support. It may be necessary to cancel my subscription.

There used to be an actual free Malwarebytes app that even included real-time protection. Now you have to pay for that, which is understandable. But if you want scheduled scans or to even have the virus database automatically stay up-to-date, you have to pay. Pretty much every thing is now behind a pay wall. The only thing that isn't is to manually scan your phone. You'll get annoying notifications, reminders to scan, upgrade or "boost your score" (what loser thought of that?)...uninstalling.

From happy to infuriated with Malwarebytes for Android. I'm using the text message protection, and it has started blocking legitimate text messages from one of my favorite retailers. I can see no way to override it. There is an "allow list" but there doesn't seem to be any way to access it or add a number to it. I've been a Malwarebytes user for decades, but now I'm considering switching to something else. I've tried the "help" section in the app, but even that is totally worthless.
