App doesn't open reliably, cannot get it to work with android auto
Definitely the best app to find a charging station. Quite exhaustive. The support is nothing to be compared with any other app ! We exchanged mails over almost a week to find the reason why I couldn't install the app. They were kind, reactive and supportive. My problem got solved thanks to them. Highly recommend it, even for only that reason.
As a new EV driver I was keen to use this app given the reviews, but Vauxhall vehicles are not listed in the vehicle info setup. Have to find a compatible app.
A good number of charging stations are nicely listed with photos. However, I rate the app mostely negative as distance unit is set according phone language, no in-app setting available on that! Charging costs in Euro instead of local currency. Costs shown are more expensive Chargemap rates instead of local rates. Route planner does list my car, but when panning a route it says that the car is not supported yet.
Doing what I need, although I often end up using the feature embedded in waze or Google maps this one is still better when I need to properly search and am not driving.
chargemap sends the chargemap pass "La poste", without a tracking number (in my opinion, saving 20 euros at the wrong end). In the small print it says that the delivery time is 4-10 working days, in exceptional cases up to 30 (!) days. in my case the pass has not yet arrived after more than two weeks, which is why I switched to the competition. The customer service is very poor and the emails are full of spelling mistakes and previous communication is ignored (I was asked for my address 4 times
It's accurate, helped me already with 3 summer holiday trips abroad.
very slow on startup. often fixes itself to home address rather than current address for starting position and needs to be forced to use current by keying it in. otherwise the routing and charging algorithms are vey good. would be nice to have a feature to reserve a charger
Used to be fun and engaging to use but now I can't even login, even after a fresh re-install ("Unknown error, try again later" - no hint on what failed 🤷). The app also just logs you out after a day of inactivity (or even between two charging sessions on the same day). So, tl;dr: It's just annoying now, if it even works at all :( Update: No change with the recent update (and honestly, the login issue (frequent log-outs) has been there since multiple years and has never been fixed 😔)
I would recommend it but there are a couple of problems. I would like to plan the journey in advance but can't open it on my desktop PC or on my laptop. Would much prefer to do the forward planning on the bigger screens. It also sometimes recommends too many charge stops, for instance it needlessly recommended a 1 minute stop even thought there was plenty of indicated range left to get to the next stop. 1 minute stop is pointless and when I tried to delete it it simply replaced it with another nearby charger lasting 1 minute?
This was my favorite charge station app but over the past year the navigation/route recommandations have become horrible. It often suggests out of the way routes and stations. Today it recommended a 50 km detour to a slow charger instead of staying on the highway. The saved settings seem to never actually be saved. The saved routes don't actually save anything since they just reroute the destination and not the saved stations. I use the app to find stations. I manually make my desired route.
Had trouble on S of France finding a station that would accept card. Eventually did, but taken aback at cost, actually dearer per kilometer than petrol as best I can calculate. Just as well I've a phev.
customer support response times are slow. Be aware they've now imposed a €150 spend limit. This was done without explicit communication on such a major change. Now little sense to use this card on long journeys because I mainly use Tesla superchargers. Its better to use Tesla member discount for cheaper charging if I'm going to be charged immediately. My Volvo chargecard is accepted at most major European chargers and allows settlement the following month.
Doesn't work. For any trip that requires a charge, just gives me an error message saying, "No routes found. There are not enough charging stations compatible with the autonomy of your vehicle on the route." There definitely are. Update: contacted by someone on the Chargemap team telling me there are not many charging stations in Canada and sorry. Provided a map from a ABRP showing all the available stations and options for charging along the desired route.
This used to be a great app. But since a few weeks, the points on the map just stopped loading. The map doesn't update when zooming or navigating. This is also the case for my wife, and a friend, so it's not an issue with my phone or app.
Good app, but it takes ages to load the points if you're looking for a charger... A performance update would be great
Really poor 😢! No match between instructions on the charger and the app. No answer from the customer "Helpline". Gave up after waiting 15 mins for an answer, without which there was no way of using it. DEFINITELY DO WASTE YOUR TIME!
ok, it will find a route... But be happy to pay... When you want to use a network, it will just ignore your request even if this network's station is 1 km far from the one where it would make you stop, and this because the one you want is not on the main road (but half price...). There is no way to tell that you want to use the cheaper networks. So, I use this app to see the stations that I like, that I select by price limit, then I use Google Map to go from one station to the next...
Avoid avoid avoid. The prices you pay with this app are hiked so much, you end up paying sometimes double or triple per Kw, then hilariously they offer you a membership to reduce cost by paying for a membership and after that the prices are still sky high.
I put the trip in to see the stations in between destination a to destination b, but it said there weren't enough in between. However when I broke it up into portions, there were plenty stations to get me from one city to the next and eventually home. The app should've done all that for me.
