There are much better apps out there. Everything is OK for a while, then magically out if nowhere, the system catches "amnesia" and suddenly doesn't remember you. You then have to deal with the hassle over days of reconnecting your bank account, uploading bank statements, and convincing them that your bank account is still active. Even after literally paying them back a payday loan, and on top of them still deducting money from your account for a "rainy day fund", AND paying a monthly fee!!!
Just don't do it. They trap you with little rules here and there. You can't cancel the subscription without taking all your money out first, which can take days because you're only allowed to take a certain amount out in a certain time period. Once you start the autosave program, if there's any issue with your account, you can't turn it off. So even if you're broke, they are gonna keep autosaving and charging you. With Albert, you don't have control of your own money, they do.
Albert helped me in a pinch. But then when it was time to repay them, the idiot system wouldn't take my payment. Kept saying my bank balance was too low to do the payment. It's not. I just got my paycheck today! The Albert app doesn't update to reflect what's in my bank account. Keeps showing $0.26. I have way more than that. Then there's a refresh feature to update and it doesn't work. And there's no customer service, no chat. So guess what? You won't get paid. Dumb.
DO NOT DOWNLOAD!!! 1st of all you will never get the "instant money". 2nd you will be charged a monthly fee. Then when you try to cancel it won't let you. You see they automatically deduct money from your account into a "rainy day" account. But they are always deducting a little here and a little there. This is so that you always have a pending transaction going on. and as long as you have a pending transaction going you CANNOT deactivate your account. Its a SCAM!!!
this app is ridiculous!! I have been trying to cancel my account for months now but all the steps they make you go thru to cancel makes it damn near impossible and as you're trying to cancel, they're still charging you fees as well as withdrawaling money from your personal account for "savings" STOP!! 0 of 5 starts, would not recommend!!
⚠️⚠️THIS IS A SHARK APP⚠️⚠️work properly. Nothing is up to date. Money is wrong. It doesn't tell you your subscriptions. Alerts are last-minute minute so you have to pay fees to them. Hassle to cancel. Have to type in deactivate in the help bar. Have to remove the active debit card even if you don't have one with them. Only way to find out is buy calling them. or clicking small and subliminal icons. Even you do find right button it'll say connection error.⚠️⚠️ DO NOT GET. -5🌟 STARS
Don't download they give a small cash advance which cost $5.99 a month and you might not qualify. On top of that you have to go through customer service to get your bank info removed. Last but not least you can't borrow money without first agreeing to let them withdraw money from your account when they think you can afford to save. Whatever tf that means.
This app is incredibly deceiving. The company operates under the guise of offering users financial insight and transparency yet doesn't do anything at all that an actual bank will do. After having the app for a few months and getting a $25 advance I suddenly get charged $21.99?! I never asked for and definitely didn't sign up for any of the extra stuff and actually only opened the app to close my account because I don't use it.
Horrible. The fact that they make it so difficult to cancel says it all. To everyone trying to delete: You need to click the triple line symbol on the top left, click on 'help' and then search 'deactivate account. You have to go all the way to very end to choose 'permanently close account' on the bottom (they have it hidden, you need to click on 'pause account' to change it)
This app is designed to steal money and freeze transactions for days, sometimes weeks. You will not be able to access your money in a timely manner. You can't even use the debit card. Tried paying for something, and the transaction froze and was stuck pending for days. The support is non-existent. Phone number leads to a robot that reads you options for instructions to email customer service. It is a joke. They charge subscription fees for savings, investing, etc.
I have been trying for several days to get some help but keep getting told to wait. My payment was made on 7/31 & has cleared my bank account but it is still pending on the app. I was told to update my bank account;I have done this several times & it does nothing. I was told to update my card;I can't because the payment is STILL pending. I have used this app for a while& it has never taken this long. When you are in a bind & faithfully pay it back, it is very frustrating when it doesn't work!!!
DO NOT USE! They charge a monthly fee and when you go to cancel, they make it impossible. They keep trying to take money from my bank account to put into their savings which I did not authorize! When trying to cancel, it keeps saying I must withdraw any money but when I try, it says there is none to withdraw. Even though there is over $30! I will be contacting my banks fraud department about this app!
DON'T GET THIS!! Very shady. Most likely a scam. Near impossible to close your account. Was a decent app for 2 years, but this year, using this card.. ABSOLUTE TRASH!! To put it short, they do everything great for the first few years, but the longer you use it, the worse it gets! They took away my Instant, even though I paid it back everytime I got a deposit. I'd even upgraded my account and linked an account that gets thousands, but nope. Not good enough. Don't waste your time and money!!
horrible app. whats crazy is that i used the cash advance option once and after I still haven't been able to receive another advance. Even though my account is in the positive, paid off on time, make plenty from my income and yet its taken over 10 days for them to "complete" my payment. What a joke, after looking on my actual bank account it says its been paid and complete. Talking to customer service does nothing, they just tell you that it'll take up to 3-6 business days to finalize smh..Lies
Garbage app. I can't cancel my subscription and I can't cancel their mandatory "auto savings" feature where they just choose to withdraw up to $150 arbitrarily, any time they decide to do so. There is a pending charge that refuses to process, but they provide no information about it and you CAN'T cancel until it is processed-- even turn off the auto savings. I've tried making a manual payment, but they won't let me do that either because there's nothing on my account to actually pay!!
I would NOT recommend this app. while the app itself is ok and fairly user-friendly, and the deposits are fast, the customer service is the worst I've experienced in years. they only offer support via email or text and you only get a reply every 10-20 minutes, and they don't pay attention to anything you say. I'm not even sure they opened my account. if I could give negative stars I would.
DO NOT SIGN UP. sketchiest app on the market. They make it VERY difficult to close an account and they take money out of your linked accounts unexpectedly. I would NEVER sign up to use it as a saving account but I'm getting $30 withdrawals for a "rainy day fund" that I never signed up for. they also require you to verify with an Albert Debit card to close an account, which makes no sense since I never signed up for a debit account.
I would not recommend using this service at all. Customer support is truly a nightmare. It's over text messaging which would be ok if the customer service department cared about customers in the slightest. They don't. I'm just a regular guy and had charges for an app I didn't use or recognize so I requested a dispute. Once my charge was refunded, they immediately suspended my account stating there was suspicious activity on it, and I have done absolutely nothing to warrant that whatsoever.
This was incredibly hard to cancel! I don't recommend. So I didn't need the service much and it was so hard to cancel. The cancel button isn't easy to find. It's in the help center under deactivate and cancel. But if you search that in the search bard, it will just tellnyou how to find it. It wont give you the option. Then you need to enter your ssn, next, enter the last 4 of your albert card which was hard to find. Then your balance must be at zero which took days ti transfer things over.
Very shady app! They make it near impossible to cancel your membership, so you keep getting charged. I tried several times to cancel and got charged a monthly fee while waiting. They are taking advantage of people who are already struggling financially. Stay away from this app. Edit: Regarding the developer's response, I've already closed my account, but not before I was charged once more.
