The app only works if you are logged into your Wemo account. Some info on the internet indicates that the app will work without the internet after all is set up. Not so. In fact, it doesn't matter which wifi connection you use; if you log into your Wemo account, it works. I was hoping to use these Wemos in a remote location without internet, and a wifi router. But apparently not.

I would like to see support for custom icons, as many of the online screenshots hint. Update: they added support for custom icons/images. Some WEMO fall off the network for no reason. Getting them to rejoin is nearly impossible for 2 of them. Try after try after try. Range to the AP is the same as others. Firmware was all up to date. When they do fall off, why don't they reconnect themselves?

Used to be a great app, but not sure what happened in 2025. My plug is not responding to the set rules, leaving the light on all night, which becomes costly. I've gone into the app settings to check the internet connect, but was unable to click on the button to verify or update. I also went to the app store to see if it needed updating, but that was all good. Now, I'm left manually unplugging the plug and not having the lights to turn on daily per the set rules. That's a huge disappoint!!

Addition: after uninstalling the app, making a factory reset on the devices, and reinstalling the app I was able to setup my switches. From one to two stars. I'm not the most technical person on earth, but I believe my tech knowledge is above the average. Setting up the device is a nightmare, and the application doesn't even show the same options shown on the Belkin website, in the troubleshooting section. I just don't have the possibility to connect a mini switch to my home router!

I have used this product for several years. It has degerated into an abandoned product or at least it seems that way. Both the hardware and software are unreliable as many other reviewers have reported. I just replaced 5 Wemo smart? plugs with Amazon smart plugs. All five were installed and up and running in ten minutes.

Unable to add new smart plugs. Adding a new plug renames a random plug I've already set up. The one I'm trying to set up continues to blink 2 colors. Tried it multiple times with 2 different factory-reset plugs with the same result. Update: dumping Wemo was one of the best decisions of my life. There are WiFi switches out there that respond instantly, are actually easy to set up, and are far cheaper than Wemo. Don't waste your money on this product line that Belkin has clearly given up on.

Every time there's a power outage, or wifi disconnect of any kind, I have to reset all devices as if it's the 1st time. Lately, the app doesn't work at all. It finds my devices, but when trying to turn any of them on remotely, they turn gray and go offline. I've uninstalled the app and reinstalled it and now can't sign in, it won't send me an email to reset my password, and I can't create an account because my username already exists.

Never worked well, since 2019. I had the app and "smart" plug (more like dumb) it was always hit or miss. It doesn't connect and then after a month or two, it shows up. Whether on iPhone or Android, it is such a pcolito pair it. It falls off of the app, and I'd have to spend hours resetting it, plugging it, connecting, and when it says connected, I go back to the app and it says "unavailable". That goes on and on and on. I 've had wyze for 2.5 years, which didn't cause me any trouble.

The absolute worst! I never give bad reviews, but this time it has to be done. If for no other reason than to potentially save someone else from going through the trouble that we go through trying to re-connect plugs after moving to new homes. It's unbelievable how many attempts we make and always fail. Gave up and bought all Leviton plugs. WOW! What a difference! They're so simple, so wonderful to setup and program. The 4 wemo plugs we have are now going to the landfill - where they belong.

its 2025 and belkin/wemo has still managed to put out the same garbage product it has since 2018. ive got a dozen different plugs and lights.. a few from cheap brands, and a few from expensive brands. Everything connects to my wifi and google right away. Every one of them is available 24/7. Enter wemo.. Connecting takes 50 tries, rolling back the app, standing on one foot. Devices are regularly "not detected" or disconnected from Google.. belkin should be ashamed of themselves.

For some reason my front door light switch stopped responding tonight. then disappeared from the app (grayed out). Then after resetting, appeared, but when I tried to turn it on, grayed out again. another switch in the garage went missing. The third smart outlet turned on, but when I tried to turn off, grayed out. They show as connected in the router interface. I don't see other devices from other vendors behaving like that. You guys have a problem all of a sudden.

If you haven't heard, Belkin is dropping support for nearly all of their wemo devices. Avoid. The devices that we have usually lock onto the access point with the lowest signal strength and never rescan to find a closer one. They will drop off the network for a long time and need to be power cycled to wake them up and reconnected.

I've had nothing but trouble with the Belkin Wemo Light Switch and app. The devices constantly disconnect from the network, even when all other smart devices in my home are working perfectly. Reconnecting them is an exercise in frustration. To make matters worse, they refuse to link up with Google Home. Despite following every troubleshooting guide and even resetting the devices multiple times, integration never succeeds. I wouldn’t recommend Wemo as a dependable smart home solution.

Used to be a decent product. This new update has bricked my WeMo Mini. Had to do with the stupid WeMo account, which froze on the app. Finally just went to my email and found the confirm email. Now, I can't connect to it. I've tried to factory reset it and can't get it to connect. App just keeps spinning when trying to connect. Staying away from WeMo until they get this fixed!

I am a perfectly capable user of technology, but that only works if the product isn't junk. I have spent hours trying to connect a switch. The app wants me to connect to a Wemo wifi, that isn't listed as an available network. It asks me if I've installed the switch, which I have, but it does not give me anywhere to tell it yes. it it just a page through about the wifi issue. I clicked the link to watch the instructional video thinking that might hold some clues, URL doesn’t work.

Constantly disconnect from the network, logs you out, and then says your password is incorrect, ask to send you password, it will never arrive, try to create account with the same email it tells you it already exists. Switching to kasa wifi plugs are better, faster and cheaper, a 4 pack for $22. You're welcome.

App and hardware is garbage. If you lose power the light switches will not be recognized in the app. Light switches are connected to WiFi but greyed out in the app. Unable to get them back. Have factory reset 20 times and tried to re-add with iOS and Android devices and they will reconnect in wifi but the Wemo app doesn't see them. Don't waste your time with this ecosystem.

This is honestly the worst app ever. They never give it any firmware updates either. Whenever I need to reestablish a smart plug, which is often due to this app and the hardware, the app just gets stuck on an endless attempting to connect screen. It will spin endlessly. Now my lamp doesn't work with Google assistant anymore. I ask Google to turn on the lamp and it says it's offline because of the Wemo app. They honestly don't care about us at all. I even changed my WiFi settings too.

Some how has gotten worse over the years. Weno plugs just disappear from the network for days at a time. Attempting to add a plug, asks for a name and just renames an existing one and then drops it off the network. basic functionality gone, the app crashes and even the touch targets are misaligned with the UI. I'll be retiring all my Wemo devices now. Thanks, for that.
