Features
Titanium Backup is a powerful mobile app that requires root access to fully utilize its features. Some of its key features include the ability to backup and restore apps, app data, and system settings. It also allows for batch backup and restoration, as well as the ability to freeze or uninstall system apps. The app also offers encryption for backups, scheduling of automatic backups, and the ability to move apps to and from the SD card. Additionally, Titanium Backup provides integration with cloud storage services like Dropbox and Google Drive for added convenience.
Another notable feature of Titanium Backup is its ability to convert user apps into system apps and vice versa, as well as the option to create multiple backups for the same app. The app also offers a comprehensive overview of all installed apps, including their data size and cache size, making it easier to manage and optimize storage space on the device.
How to Use
Using Titanium Backup requires a rooted Android device. Once the app is installed and granted root access, users can begin by selecting the apps and data they want to backup. This can be done individually or in batch mode for efficiency. The app also allows for scheduled backups and offers options for encryption and compression of backups to save space. Restoring apps and data is also straightforward, with the ability to select specific items from a backup or restore everything at once.
Additionally, Titanium Backup provides the option to freeze or uninstall system apps, as well as the ability to move apps to the SD card. The app also offers integration with cloud storage services for easy backup management.
Pros & Cons
Pros of Titanium Backup include its comprehensive backup and restore capabilities, including the ability to backup app data and system settings. The app also offers advanced features such as batch operations, encryption, and integration with cloud storage services. Additionally, Titanium Backup provides detailed information about installed apps, making it easier to manage storage space.
On the downside, Titanium Backup requires root access, which may not be suitable for all users. The app also has a learning curve for beginners and may be overwhelming for those looking for a simple backup solution. Additionally, while the app offers a free version, some advanced features are only available in the paid version.

Scary at first but if you take the time to learn what it can do then it's the most useful tool in your app library. It's the first and only app I download from the playstore when flashing a new ROM. All the rest of my apps come from TI backups. Batch restores have saved me countless hours and I haven't seen anything else like it.
This app doesn't seem to be maintained anymore. Anyone using Android 9 or older shouldn't have any issues. As of Android 10+ the app is no longer working correctly. It was a good run for this app, used it for years, saved me countless hours and it was worth every penny. Thank you to the development team. Unfortunately, all good things must come to an end. 5 stars is what's deserved if you understand that the app is not for recent Android versions. Root is also a requirement in case you missedit
Absolute lifesaver. The UI is a bit clunky and it took me a while to figure out that most of what I want can be found under the innocuously titled "batch actions", but the actual functionality is great. Especially when upgrading Android, apps sometimes don't transfer perfectly, so having the option to restore only data while installing the app normally is really useful. I'm glad I bought it and easily got my money's worth.
If someone would revive and update this app, I'd give it 5 stars! It is a must if you are rooted and using Android 10 or under. If you are using Android 11 and up, restoring is likely to fail often. What good is a backup you cannot restore? I still use it and love it on my older device. But for my newest phone, Swift Backup has been much more reliable for actually restoring backups. I just uninstalled Titanium Backup on my new phone, and had to write this.
Titanium Backup has been a staple in the rooted community for years but it has started to show it's age not only with the interface but also with it's functionality leaving users to find workarounds to some of the problems that have been popping up as new Android versions are developed. Having said that, there are very few apps that can do what Titanium does but none that can completely replace it.
(edited review) Sadly, no longer the best backup app for Android in this day and age. Setting aside the dated UI, the app is no longer reliable when it comes to actually restoring your backups (I've been told it's because it can't handle split APKs). That in and of itself makes the app nearly useless. Once a staple of the Android community, time has passed it by. I recommend other solutions, such as Swift Backup, which does most of what this app does but it actually *works*.
SOMEONE PLEASE PICK UP DEVELOPMENT OF THIS ONCE GREAT APP! It's so broken now it's unreliable and useless. Last time I tried, after backing up an app+data before reflashing my phone, I couldn't even *select* the backup file when I chose the option to import a backup. All .TiBkp files were grayed out, whether they were in cloud storage, or on the sd card. I wish I could get a refund, but multiple attempts to contact the support team have been futile (I've only received autoresponses). So sad. ðŸ˜
Still can't backup to PC easily after all these years... Very very baffling to me, and the UI is still very dated. I think it needs to be added now more than ever since phones are mandatory encryption and a PC version the app would be very nice. Hasn't improved in any matter in the past few years. I had to back up my phone on very short notice and it didn't backup my texts. It had some crucial memories and stuff from when my grandmother passed, and the app restore process has been like pulling teeth. You're fired. There are much better solutions out there nowadays.
Dead application and there are bugs with restoring apps when it already exists. If I have an app at version 4, and try to restore a backup of version 3, it won't restore the app and I have to manually backup, uninstall, install the old app, and then then new data. No response from support. Been using this for over 7 years, but time to find a new backup app :(
I used this app to backup my phone before flashing a new ROM. It seemed to backup the apps and their data, however when I restored them on the new system (same device), none of them would open. I tried clearing the storage for the apps to put them in "freshly installed" condition, and they still didn't work. Lastly, I uninstalled the apps, reinstalled them for the source and restored the backup app data, and they still didn't work. It failed to restore the apps or data.
Consider this app to be abandoned. I can look past the Android 4.1 UI, but nowadays all I can do is freeze and uninstall. Backup hardly ever completes to begin with, and restoring them is an even bigger gamble. Used to be a reliable companion app, now it's just a sad reminder of better times.
Unfortunately the current top review is correct: Titanium Backup no longer can restore backups. I believe the issue is one of permissions (each app has its own writable path and a separate user/group generated "randomly." The backup restore process likely does not compensate for this.) On current Android versions, restoring a backup causes the app to crash continuously until you clear its data. Titanium Backup was one of my most important essentials, so this is a terrible loss.
Long time pro user starting with JB, since Oreo (8.1) it doesn't work properly. It has not been updated since nearly one year... What's the poi nt to make backups that you can't restore ? On my way to a better solution (Swift Backup ?). I feel been ripped off . These unmaintained app should be removed from the store. There's still ppl paying for this app that's not working anymore.
