Some time ago I received a ring with an embedded NTAG 213 Type 2. It's been a couple years now. But this ring has been through hell and back. Picked up the ring and tapped it with this app running. Could be do to its age or lack of use for awhile it seemed not to read. However after a few epic battles of "find the sweet spot" it worked great. Utilizing this software she was laid bare for me to enjoy. Great software, easy to use, flows so nice, and jamed packed with features.
A must have on every NFC enabled phone! Lets you read pretty much every type of tag. NXP is on the cutting edge of near field communication, and their app most definitely reflects that. It's best when used in conjunction with the NXP Tagwriter as well. I use the tags to set up routines.
To all the people reading the one star reviews, be warned they seem to be a *one time* thing, or an issue on the user's end as phone a Samsung Galaxy A50 runs this just fine with no errors or issues what so ever this works as if it where at CES being a perfect demo app, no issues never fails to save always works, I see no issues here.
This is the only Android app currently known to me that supports and interprets the NFC Forum NDEF Signature Record Type v2.0. The UI is simple but well done and without all the "bells and whistles".
Used it to test different RFID wallets, and it worked fine. It provides info of nearby chips.
A free handy tool from the NFC originator. Now I know what chip and their protocol inside many of cards in my household.
Perfect for checking if transport tickets are operational (Myki, unable to check balance, but that's Myki's fault, not NXP)
This app used to work really well, but something has changed recently, and now it struggles to read cards. The NFC on my phone appears to work, as I can use Google Pay without any issues, but my phone really struggles to read a card. It will read a card eventually, but only when rubbing the card directly against the phone, and even then it's hit and miss. Not sure if this has anything to do with the message stating that android beam is now disabled, in the settings?
Cannot save report. Cannot share report. Where is the save file location? I list the recent files but see nothing about it.
Saving xml export is impossible and sending files to email doesn't work at all. When you click save scan it sometimes says it saved other times just spams a error message until you force quit the app. When you share to email it will open the email app and insert the title of the email but it fails to attach any files. It is impossible to find the xml files in your phones file browser probably because they are storedwhere you cannot view them and they give you no option to change save directory.
Full read can't read memory contents, card-phone connection constantly interrupted. Other apps have no issues at all. Developer response was as simple as "Dear valued customer, just buy a new phone". If your app can work reliably only on most up-to-date os version, you shouldn't roll it out for all versions
I have a Galaxy S9+ and this app does literally nothing. It won't scan anything. Literally nothing happens. I've tried all the troubleshooting steps and nothing. Oh well.
Disappointed it can't find an external NFC reader plugged into USB, if it worked it sounds very interesting.
Full scan stopped working in 4.25.3. It just stayed broken since then. No wander people complain the app is useless...
