Lyft is not as busy as Uber. So, it should pay better. Instead of lowering the prices on priority mode, keep prices the same. The Lyft airport queue keeps throwing us to the back of the line or off the queue because the app thinks we're outside of the staging lot. When I haven't moved anywhere. And the app is slow with getting trips. I'm tired of this. The app wastes hours in our day often. I lose time and money because of it. And I'm not paid for it. Finding other work, this isn't working.
I wish the app had a pause button like Uber (only on Apple devices). Nevertheless, my main issue is that I no longer have access to my account. Previously, I changed my phone number which caused login probs but I was able to solve it. Meanwhile, my scheduled ride access has been reduced I couldn't make several pick-ups due to navigation issues, and it said to call the rider but I couldn't because the app didn't recognize my number. Lastly, adding apartment and building numbers would be great!!
Since the update, the app is lagging ALOT!! On the map when completing rides, the marker isn't accurate. I would turn down a street and the marker shows I'm still on the previous street. There are also some streets and some entrances to businesses where you cannot enter because it's a one-way, but the app still directs me to go in the wrong direction.
The App doesn't work well with Android Auto. It doesn't mirror the phone app to Android Auto well at all. I'm back and forth from the phone to my vehicle screen. Most of the time it loses sounds and I have to make the trips with vision only. Then it decides to come back in a few trips later. It needs improving badly! I don't have this problem with other platforms.
I give a 3 on the app particularly the navigation. For some reason they have taken away any options to navigate. unfortunately their GPS system navigates us through dark and secluded back roads which not only be scary but very dangerous as well for women and people of color. Lyft you must do better. Back roads are not safe for us. Please change your defaults in the app because Lyft has exempt us from changing it. until then I won't be driving at night like that. My safety is important.
Overall, this app is ok. I give 3 stars because the LYFT Driver GPS navigation is very unreasonable sometimes. There are a lot of better routes that you can sometimes take, and it takes a minute for gps to re-calculate. Another reason for 3 stars is that when you want to speak to a live human being agent (and not chat with them), you have the hardest time doing so, unless it's an emergency situation. Other than that, the app works well offline or online.
Absolutely the worst company to work for if you are into the market to doing fares. Their customer service for the drivers is absolutely atrocious, they will not properly inform you if there is an issue for your payout, no matter what you do, you can not get on a telephone line for help. You cannot even request help unless you click on links that immediately take you to a FAQ board, which barely helps at all. There's more issues but space limited. Not enough room to list reasons to avoid app.
After 7+ years of driving for Lyft, the Deiver app has gone from being occasionally glitchy to completely worthless. Rides are suddenly becoming unavailable for minutes at a time - even when it's busy - even in so-called "Priority Mode". Customers say they have been waiting minutes for rides to match, while drivers aren't getting paired with them! Lyft Maps is completely unusable, does not navigate around major construction areas, and is now locked as the only option!
Riders are cancelling because they are not getting an accurate GPS location of my progress to pick them up. I am not getting notifications of the cancellation leading to my wasting gas. I have had several riders say "it was showing you 20 minutes away" when I was right outside. Additionally, I get logged out if I have not been assigned a ride in 5 minutes. This is not cool. Please fix!!!!! PLEASE let us be able to see how many other drivers are out, so we know competition for rides.
I just started driving with Lyft and the app is so frustrating. It lags in every possible way, causing me to be unable to accept rides, GPS lags and/or just dissappears, phone calls connect, but neither the driver nor the rider can hear anything making it impossible to find your rider when the map is just black and you can't hear what they are saying to you or read a message they sent because the app won't move. The map changes orientation at random. It should not be this difficult!!!
I just found out there is a cap to tips per!!! i can not receive a tip greater than $50 or twice the value of the ride." so if you had a $200 ride and select %25, it won't let you! imagine if restaurants started telling you that you weren't allowed to tip your bartender, because they're trying to "prevent fraud." i was told this is to prevent fraud. but this is a secured app used only by verified users with valid debit or credit cards... <--those are the steps already taken to prevent fraud.
This app is horrible. Nearly everytime I get a ride and accept it, it goes away and I get a message that says "Match in Progress" and then the "ride is no longer available". Not only that, whoever is creating the GPS directions, needs to be fired. These directions are horrible. They take you through way too many unnecessary turns and also takes you out the the way of the pickup and/drop off. It's like it's intentionally causing you to drive extra miles. Horrible app
The "features" on the app has progressively gotten worse as they continue to "update" it. Restricting drivers to use the Lyft version of maps is horrendous. Telling us to make illegal turns, driving on restricted roads, and recently gave directions to a destination that would take over an hour more, rather than a more direct route, because it was 10 miles less. The passenger and I got a good laugh out of that, especially since time was a huge factor. Let us use Google again! In a 750k population
There's something majorly wrong with this app. It'll just randomly stop saying it's online, and won't find trips. ...and then I have to go off, and back online, to get trips again. The online thing disappears, and when it happens, it won't find trips. I've tested it. Started a month or so, ago. I have all updates I know of, and I've deleted and reinstalled the app. I'm on a Samsung Galaxy A20. No other major issue. It would be nice, if you could see profile and trip info, while driving, too.
GPS is borderline dangerous. Recommends illegal turns, doesn't always give warning of upcoming turns resulting in turns made from wrong lane, can't differentiate which direction it's facing. App is very distracting while driving. Doesn't have easily accessible "last ride" option, so if you need gas you must cancel all pending rides and log out to cash out and ruin your acceptance rate. Was forced to decline 3 rides while driving on a busy area of I-10 just so I could gas up.
This thing isn't loading up properly and is running extremely slow. the settings for dark screen always, no longer works. The option to use Google Maps is no longer there. using lyft GPS is boston is an absolute headache. The map literally starts going all over the place, and i don't know where to go. the accuracy for where the customer is, it's an absolute joke. this app always makes me driver pass the customers home and pick up area. This app doesn't send rides if it's running in the backgroun
The work is fantastic. The app is terrible. And now, it crashes in Android Auto, which is a huge inconvenience. Lyft Maps is the worst nav I've ever used. Constantly taking bad routes, nearly always directing me to where I end up with my pickup or dropoff on the wrong side and needing to either turn around to come back, or having my riders cross the street (in a larger, and very busy city with narrow streets, this is a big problem). way too many issues to list here.
I was using Waze until last weekend, now I'm stuck with Lyft's awful navigation. And the Android Auto app is even worse. Shortest route doesn't mean best, I find myself ignoring the navigation instead of using it until I get close to the destination. Not showing the name of the business I'm heading toward is a huge issue. I've lived in my city my entire life, business names are way more useful than the actual address. Especially in areas with many things packed closely together. Not good.
