The Illinois toll-paying experience is terrible. I traveled there recently and never want to go again. I paid the tolls after my trip and now they say they're unpaid (yet my cc was charged), and they're threatening me with fines. The app refuses to work "something went wrong try again later". Customer service can't answer basic questions and they say they can't do anything until after I've been invoiced with fines. I tried paying the toll again but the site gave an error about paying twice.
It's more an issue with the system, not with the app. But it will not allow me to see past paid tolls. I struggled to do the same thing on the website. I know I incurred tolls within the last 50 days, and I know that I paid tolls through the website. For some reason, it will not show those tolls even if I select to review the past 90 days of activity. I have tried to view this information on 3 different devices. I also tried to use the virtual assistant, but no luck. Typical Illinois.
the app is fairly unorganized. you cannot easily monitor which vehicle went through the toll. you have to check activity, get the transponder number. Then go to the transponder section and get the license plate. Then go to vehicles to find out which vehicle it was. also adding transponders to a new vehicle could be a bit easier. after a few times, it becomes easier, but the first time can be frustrating.
The IL tollway customer service line is one of thee absolute most incomprehensible services I've ever encountered. It took 3 attempts to get a human on the line and once I did I still was unable to get my issue resolved. After 45 mins , 4 attempts I still have the same problem. Horrible! The toll way sure knows how to take your money but when it comes to rectifying and issue, addressing concerns or answering questions they are of no assistance.
Should be able to pay by plate even though I have I pass, since the app opening screen says it's possible. My sticker wasn't read, so I needed to do this. The only thing it would do is bring up my Ipass info. The website would open the app whenever I tried to do it from there, even when I used a different email to make a second account. I ended up unistalling the app to do it. When I tried to report it from the app, the "submit" button stayed greyed out no matter what I did. PITA.
