Best Android file manager I've ever used. The animations as you switch directories are a nice touch. Easy to set up to work with Termux. I wish I could see/change permissions for files within the app, edit files with the binary viewer, or use the built in editor with scripts set as executable, but for most of what you need to do this should be more than enough "out of the box."

Clean, responsive, and lots of cool network storage features. The only problem I've had in years is I don't think I can filter by file extension, just predefined "type" like "image," an asterisk wildcard doesn't seem to work. But that problem made me realize I had, what, a 4 year streak of never having to look anything up? And it still gets maintenance updates! Just buy it!
One of the best, most complete file manager, and utilities applications I've seen. I purchased the plus version just to show support, which is very rare for me due to income limitations. The privacy policy alone is reason enough to use it. I respect a developer who does things well and explains things simply. I give this application and developer(s) my recommendation to friends and family. I'd like to say "Good Job!" and many thanks to the developer(s). 🙂👍
so freaking exceptionally good. usually Android apps are idk kinda underpowered, but I've been using fx on the road to connect to my remote server and it powers through like a champ! I was sorting some camera shots and instinctively finger zoomed in the file browser and the thumbnails actually resized and got bigger. an example of the thought and care that has gone into this product. I imagine the maker(s) of the app actually use it themselves. I believe I have the paid version, worth it.
Perfect for my needs, I can access my NAS files from anywhere and with different devices, once you learn how to use it is easy to get to your files, transfers, open documents. I have used many other apps but this one is a keeper, just wish there was a way to save the password since I mostly use within my network, a thumbprint reader would be nice since I'm a senior and my vision is not 20-20 is hard to see small print on small devices.
This is the best. Don't think twice. Main rule of a file manager is it shouldn't spy on you. Look at windows explorer. Yet all these Android file managers comes with heavy tracking. Fx file explorer is against that which makes it perfect. Besides that its very fast and easy. Not clunky. I know why file managers these days are slow, it's busy selling your data. 🤣
Absolutely love this explorer and have been using this for a while. Its smooth, fast, easy to use and ad free. What else could you ask for? However, I recently got a new device and I can no longer access the Android data folder because of Android 11 and you can only access that folder if you give the app the permission to manage all files which unfortunately Fx file explorer does not ask for. It simply says "access denied" when that folder is opened. Please, fix it as soon as possible.
This app is definitely rly good. I switched from a certain different app that was pre-installed on my phone but unfortunately that app started bit***ng because of the name of the files. But then I discovered this app, it had all the features that the other app had and it doesn't throw me any fake errors like "file doesn't exist" just because there were ( ) [ ] - . symbols in the file name. Definitely 10/10
Almost perfect. I've tried many file browsers. ES file explorer was my go to for years but I can no longer access it. This one has almost everything I need and privacy features too. The only feature missing is the ability to unpack multiple archives at once. I have to keep another app installed to manage zips and 7zs. Other than that, flawless.
I've been using this as my main file explorer for years now and i absolutely love it. One question though, why is the new update removing translucent theme (temporarily possibly) ?? That's the default theme I've always used and I'm not updating to the newer version till it comes back. Please bring it back! I have an OCD to keep all my apps updated.
Edit: Turn off updates. They brought back the internal media players, or at least the ability to choose them, when opening a file. I believe I tried setting them as the default action but it wasn't an option, in May. (Original: It was great but the latest update got rid of internal media players and activated a trial of YouTube Music, without me having to opt-in, even though I've got an app for music. I hope they bring back the media players and some of the other functionality that was removed.)
While the app has a great interface and is easy to use, although I was unable get it to connect with my tablet via the FX connect feature so I was unable to transfer files over to the tablet. I have not tried to see if it worked with my pc or laptop as the main reason I downloaded the app was the phone to tablet transferring. Other than that issue I encountered the app is actually well made. Question, I activated the free trial. Does this just cancel at the end or will it bill me?
Looks great, works mostly well. Recently, it now opens local videos as network streams, which breaks the previous/next navigation and __often__ causes players to lock up and/or crash. It didn't use to work this way, I don't know why it dies now, but, as far as I can tell, there's no setting to change it. Same videos play fine if opened with a different file manager
Have been using it since 2021 to find files on my phone by name and to copy files to/from my Linux workstations. It does the job pretty well. However, find file feature doesn't provide share file menu which is a major inconvenience. Requiring one to navigate to the folder of the found file, manually locating the file in the folder and share it from there. Add share option to find file result view, please.
I used this file explorer exclusively for several years and it worked great. Recently I began having some problems with it. It would not connect to shares in my private network, for instance. After I got a new phone, with a more recent version of Android, this app lost a lot of usefulness. For instance you can't make it be able access certain folders in your phone. Sadly, it seems this app has been left to die.
Used to love this app for cloud storage but after they dropped support(android limitation, but it's been a year now come on devs!) Loved the interface. I switched to solid explorer(paid) and I love it the support cloud, local, root, android/data, and pass/print locking cloud drives. And it's a nice yi as well. Highly recommend for anyone looking to switch.
So sorry to have to do this, but I think I have waited enough for the developers to fix the issue. In the Modules section still appear the FX Plus Add-On as installed, but I no longer have access to my cloud services. Even when I re-add them and grant permision as requested, each time I try to access their content, I receive a Network Error or Denied Access message. And it happens with Google Drive, Dropbox and OneDrive; all of them.
This app had been my favourite file explorer for years, and I even paid for the premium features. Unfortunately, for whatever reason, it can no longer write to the SD card even when I grant it "write access". I tell it to save a picture into a folder, it pretends to save it, but has really not saved it. I have thus switched to X-plore which doesn't have that problem.
1. This is just a trial version that expires after 7 days of use. I never download the deluxe version nor requested a trial. 2. Giant icons cannot be reduced in size. 3. This app cannot remove the downloads folder and the documents folder from the home screen in spite of what the preferences pretend to allow. 4. Developer does not respond to bug reports or feedback, and one year later, same bugs exist.
