Honestly I'm amazed at how trouble free this has been, especially after reading the reviews. My wife got some studio earbuds from some giveaway and lent them to me. I was skeptical about needing an app for them at first, but it's honestly nice to have that kind of interface and it even lets you customize some of the controls. It might be nice if it did a little more, but this is way more than I would have expected anyway so whatever.
My wife bought me Studio 3 headphones. I had heard many reports the earlier models were not sounding good. They rock. Great sound. Needed to download this app to sync with my Android phone. Amazing app.. Connects quicka and well. I should say with apple devices the headphones seem to connect quicker even without the app. Love Beats, love their app. 5 stars!!!
The app makes it very convenient to adjust your beats products. I do have an issue with specifically the beats studio buds settings, when I use only 1 earbud it turns on the transparency model automatically which is completely fine but when I turn it off it has been turning the transparency mode back on within a few seconds of me turning it off. I have to turn it back of a few times for it to actually stay off. It's just inconvenient but other than that it's amazing!
Look I have no problems with the headphones, ok? It's just that your app won't stop sending me the battery amount of the case and headphones! It is annoying when I watch or play something I can't see most of the screen cause of the stupid notifications. This happens almost 24/7. I even turned off permissions, and it'll still do it. Just plz stop and take those battery percent notifications off. It's ANNOYING.
Not a great app. Really wish that I could just see battery levels without needing this... It did help initially figuring out how to use the controls on my powerbeats but that is it... Normally when I open it, and my headphones are connected (even in a call or listening to music actively), it doesn't register them being connected and defaults to help connect...
Sound quality and fit are great. But since switching to these, either they're causing my phone to spaz out, or they're bugging out themselves. Way too often, I try to pause, just for the app to crash to the point I have to restart my phone. Reliability isn't where it should be. Imagine listening in your ear , but the push button to pause decides it won't pause and continues playing music and crashes my streaming app in the process. FIX THIS!! I paid too much to deal with this.
All the comments about not connecting and having to manually connect are exactly my experience. I would leave my powerbeats pro earbuds charging for days and when I go to use them, somehow, one of them are dead! How is this possible?? Having to uninstall and reinstall and reconnect is ridiculous and shouldn't be an issue with expensive earbuds. I will say, the sound quality is good when you finally connect.
I've had my beat pro for well over 6 months. It started off great, I would pull it out the case, and it would connect automatically with either or both earbuds. Over the last 2 months I now have to manually connect them each time, sometimes it says unable, and I will retry. Then if I had my right ear bud in, the left won't connect unless I push the button to respond. The sound quality isn't the same on both. I've uninstalled the app, unpaired and still no avail. Should've stuck to Sony.
I absolutely LOVE the sound quality of my Beats. But this app is not as good. When I'm listening to an audiobook or my music on the go and I get a call, all of a sudden the earbud switches off and won't connect until after my call is done. Plus, there always some type of update, but when I try to do it I get an error. Is it because Thought it was because I was using an Android device, but I see that's not the case. Please improve this - I LOVE the Beats brand.
Permissions requirements are silly. You DO NOT need my location. More importantly, I cannot see a way to save my noise canceling setting. Every time I connect the buds, it defaults to 'transparency' when I last set it to 'noise canceling'. Each time, I have to open the app, set to noise canceling. Even while I'm looking at it....the selection will change with no input from me at all. It also shows me current firmware but no indication if it is the most current.
The app..... I'm having more of an issue with the ear buds. fully charged and will not stay connected to my android any more. I stopped using them maybe a year ago now. thought maybe it was just my phone getting old. now I have a brand new phone and still won't stay connected. I first bought them back in 2020 and they were great until now. oh well. no more apple products for me
The app is basically useless even without it installed you can still easily connect your headphones without any issues. It gives you info about headphones that you don't need almost like they're trying to find ways to fill up the page. The battery percentage of the headphones and case never update even if you had it charging for more then an hour. It doesn't let you alter the sound on the headphones like other apps and worst of all it's draining your phone battery trying to connect to the device
The headsets themselves are great. The app... if you don't have apple product you are not lucky. I am supposed to see the charge left in each headset and the case. Wow when I can see it I am so happy that I celebrate. Most of the time my headsets crash on me before I am able to see it on the app. Very cool when you fo important calls. So at the end the app is supposed to be for both apple and android but it is not the case.
The earbuds I use are good, they have really good noise canceling, and the transparency mode also works really well. But the problem I have most is that the app crashes VERY frequently, and it's a huge problem because I often find myself needing to switch between noise canceling and transparency (depending on my situations), but it's basically impossible when the app constantly crashes within 2 seconds or less.
The app has no idea the beats fit pro are already connected. It's insane that what is supposed to be one of the most premier audio brands in the world. Can not make an app that recognizes its own device. Bout these to replace another pair of wireless buds and will absolutely be returning them because of this app. Absolutely inexcusable!
This app has gone crazy. It opens every few miniutes on my chromebook and takes over the entire screen. I'm uninstalling the app so that I can use my device. Also, the speaker disconnects from windows after 10 minutes with no explanation. I am told that the app would update the firmware but the problem persists. Bascially the speaker is useless unless we use android.
Half the time, headphones don't even show up under "My Beats" even when connected. They never show up when not connected, even if they've been connected several times before. Battery tracking is also completely inconsistent and shows up apparently only if it's feeling like it and it's a full moon. GPS tracking extremely inconsistent as well. Basically don't expect any of the advertised features to work at all.
My powerbeats pro always had a weird pairing problem. Had them for about a year and a half. In the last 2 weeks though it's had a update button that doesn't work. Since I've not been able to charge them properly, I can't get them both to work at the same time, my box doesn't show up anymore on the app, and my headphones will be paired and playing with them in the box and the box closed. 🙃 Whatever they did or tried to do with this update has completely ruined the app. DO NOT BUY!!!
1st, the app never recognizes that the earbuds are connected so there is no way for be to know the battery level. I've tried all sorts of things/combinations, but 9 out of 10 times the app doesn't recognize it's connected though the S10+ is connected and the audio were just fine. This is super frustrating. 2nd, app only shows the earbuds' power level unless the earbuds are in the case. It would be really nice to show the case power level or request it. 3rd, few features, basically pointless.
The headphones are great, except for when they disconnect from the phone due to distance or idle time. To reconnect you have to take off the headphones and put them back in the case multiple times until they reconnect. It's very obnoxious. For the price, there shouldnt be cheap problems like this. My old $50 Plantronics headphones never had trouble connecting or staying connected. And they didn't have a useless app to download either.
The app is a joke. It doesn't offer anything useful. It only let's you toggle noise cancelation (which is also a joke on the studio³'s) on/off, which can easily be done on the headphones. Shows battery %. Lastly, it shows you how to control your headphones, but it contains zero controls in the app. Would be nice if it did and at least an equalizer. Geez! These are supposed to be studio headphones. They should at least offer features on the app to make them feel more like studio headphones🗑👎
I have power beats pro and a beats pill. Those still work and connect to my phone, but just recently the app won't open at all. It just keeps force closing when I click on it. And even a message sometimes pops up at the bottom of the phones saying the beats app stopped working and will close. It used to be a nice app to see the battery level of the connected headphones or speaker.
Why is the default transparency??? Would you like a tinny slightly delayed audio piped in? No? Too bad! 1000 times day you have to open the app to get back to noise canceling. Please let me select my own default mode. One has to open the app to get to noise canceling mode but you can get between the other modes just by holding the button. WHY. So in summary, the hardware works fine.
Update as of 4 Aug 2024: still doesn't connect properly. When they do connect, one piece is always dead. They are constantly connecting on their own, even when in the case. Too much trouble connecting. I have had to go through the entire process of connecting to my device three times. I've finally given up and just listened with one earpiece working and the other never connecting.
Ever since the last update. My power beats pros don't function correctly. Left side won't charge and doesn't even register as working(doesn't work at all). The left side will play and stay connected even when in the case and the case Is close, I have to literally turn off Bluetooth to make it stop. Then it randomly disconnects if listening to music or YouTube when a call comes in or viceversa.
BEATS DEVELOPERS ARE YOU LOOKING AT THESE REVIEWS BY YOUR CUSTOMERS??????? THEY ARE NOT WORKING! Over the last couple weeks I've gone from a complete day at work using the beats for phone and occasional music, down to 5 minutes of use for anything and it "dies" or disconnects (whatever it does). I've reset it multiple times and it doesn't work. $250 and a year of use? I'll be looking for a cheaper option. Why did they crash so quickly?????
My beat fits pro will not update to the new firmware. As soon as I close the case, it seems to time out. This gives me an update error every time after only 1 or 2% complete. They are connected via Bluetooth to my Samsung phone and I can hear music playing through them in the case. However, as soon as one earbud is removed, the bluetooth is lost causing the app to completely delete them. Seem like this is a regular occurrence and needs to be fixed ASAP.
I would give this app no stars if possible. It's terrible. It doesn't even recognize the earbuds and I have to connect thru Bluetooth and the issue with that is I can't change the settings for the earbuds such as touch to pause, change tracks etc. This app sends me CONSTANT notifications about an update but when I click it to update the earbuds, it just goes to the app and doesn't allow an update no matter what I do. Flat out, this app sucks. It's CLEARLY been neglected and needs fixing!
This is an expensive piece of garbage. I'm never spending money on a beats headset again. It's always disconnecting and difficult to pair back with my android phone. Lately, the battery discharges completely once I take the headphones out of the casing and immediately replace them back. I don't recommend. Even my cheap headset still works and I bought it long before beats.
