I want to start this off by saying that alto is a very fun game overall!!!! I love the gameplay, minimal ads, lovely art style and game mechanics. Oh, and buying the ad-free experience is totally worth it! There is one bug that I would like to point out, however Whenever you jump over a big chasm and you don't land a grind on the flags, if you revive your character the camera won't follow them. This makes it stay on the image of the chasm making the player unable to see where they are
This is such a soothing game for me! The visuals, the music, and the sound effects are so peaceful and can ease my mind when my anxiety starts creeping in. You can play free mode where you're just endlessly skiing down this mountain, no rewards, no points, no game over, just you and the mountain. But there's also a game mode where there's objectives, stakes, and different cool features to get you excited!! I'm so glad I found this game. It never has any issues and it's such a pleasure to play😊
a very calming time killer. if you want just a calm game to play when you're bored or when you're out and have no wifi, this is the game for you. the soundtrack and visuals are outstanding, and the gameplay is engaging and very satisfying. one of my favorite mobile games. if you like this, also check out the sequel, "Alto's Odyssey." very similar with the main differences being in terrain and soundtrack.
The best "dashing" game out there. The atmosphere, music, sound design, and gameplay all culminate into a calming yet engaging experience that's perfect for a quick distraction, and a mobile game in general. The stuff shown here makes me wish a full-on game was made in this vein. The quest system is clearly only there to keep the game's shelf-life up, but you could enjoy the game well while ignoring any kind of "progression". The only reason I wouldn't get this is because a second one exists.
I played this before playing the sequel alto's odyssey, and while I prefer the second game, this one still holds up! my only complaints are that the llama mechanic feels sort of pointless outside of missions (scores alone have never been a motivator for me), and there's a particular chasm (two small gaps in quick succession) that's nearly impossible to clear if you're going too fast. worth a try if you loved the sequel, but want something a little different!
Overall a very fun and relaxing game that isn't overrun with ads like what many of the other "free to play games" are like. The micro-transcations are pretty reasonable in this game, and are definitely optional as you can easily earn everything by playing the game. Unless you really hate ads, which in my opinion, is worth paying 2 dollars for. *plus you get 5,000 coins* Keep up the good work guys!
This game is a lot of fun! It's simple, challenging and relaxing at the same time. The graphics and are great. I like the upgrades you can purchase (with in game currency). I purchased the remove ads feature to support devs and this game is worth it IMO. One thing I do wish that would be added is an upgrade ability to be able to back flip faster! Thanks for the great game!!!
Extremely fun nostalgic game. Gameplay is never boring, and always extremely relaxing. But of course it cannot be perfect. The later levels are IMPOSSIBLY difficult, especially the wingsuit ones. They're real sneaky about the ads as well. Not a single pop up ad EVER, but due to the stupidly difficult goals in later levels they pretty much force you to watch ads for coins. Would still recommend, though.
Beautiful game! Played it for years. Only suggestions I would make if possible would be to have a way to save your progress (some account or something) and for the music not to restart every time you mess up. After completing the entire game I accidentally uninstalled the app and lost everything. And it would be nice if the music would just pick up where it left off when you fell after starting again. If these things are addressed I will definitely give 5 stars. Thanks for your hard work!
The game is beautiful overall, wonderful design and stellar backgrounds and scenery. My issue is that there are a number of glitches or bugs. When I use Inez and she is boosting, she misses all type of items and coins. It's quite infuriating when I pass many coins and magnets and she doesn't pick them up. Now I use her mainly, I can't say this happens with all the characters. Additionally, when you use a ramp there's a chance you'll fall straight down and lose. Sometimes I've even ended up inside a mountain of snow. I was so close to reaching the last character when this happened and I think I'll need a break from the game because of it.
Good: smooth time passer, neat background visuals, unique runner game with interchangeable playable characters. Minimal ads for the f2p person. Less than good: night time is so dark, trying to see the stones with no coins marking them is next to impossible. After purchasing the "ad free" package, you can no longer watch ads to continue your journey if you fall. You get 1 chance now. Not 3. I don't mind giving you devs money for your work, but I would still like more than 1 continue per run.
i love this game. its fun, relaxing, the gameplay is smooth- it's great. however, there have been more and more ads as of recently. after almost every game, i have to watch one. this is made even worse by the fact that sometimes the ads are so zoomed in that i cannot close or skip them. i then have to restart the app, and the fun is replaced with frustration. i want to rate this higher, but i just havent been enjoying it as much ://
I actually like this game a lot more than my review might imply. It has relaxing, charming graphics and music and intuitive, engaging gameplay. But items have gotten really buggy. I'll glide right by them and they don't even get picked up, or the game doesn't register it. The hover feather in particular seems to work about 20% of the time, maybe less. I had to pick up at least FIVE just to complete the mission to collect ONE! :(
