As much as i don't like the parameters of this game, Best is the Awesome graphics. It has a very very unrealistic bounce of ball around the greens. Ive lost 6 games in head to head in a row due to the eratic and unrealistic bounce, but I am new to game and will learn how to adjust. Super game and very addictive. Be ready to spend some money!! Over year later and I'm good at this one. 5 stars.
It's better than I thought it would be in the mobile hell experience. No intrusive in your face advertisements to move forward besides the bull to buy when you start the game. Good graphics, challenging gameplay and courses, good events. Decent way to relax and one of the very few mobile games I would give a 5 star these days. Not bad with anxiety issues as well, helped me out, so I'm certainly appreciative. Overall a fun time waster. One of the best if you like golf.
This game is so fun, it is so accurate , and it totally got me interested in golf!!!☺️ Like I used to think the Masters tournament was super boring, but this game made me think it’s the best thing ever. There really is just one problem though, and that problem is that out of all randomness during the game, it will black me out and bring me out do my home screen. I don’t if it’s just me, and even though I have an iPod touch (embarrassing) no game I have does this even 3 times as much less as this game. It really is annoying if I am going for a putt or a drive and it blacks out and brings me back to the home screen. I was playing my first time in screaming aces, and it happened and I lost the game
So I reviewed this game one year ago and this game has improved so much for the better that I'm redoing the review. First off, the graphics have improved tremendously,the game play is much smoother and quite realistic now. The controls have improved. We would like to see an option to turn off crowd control clapping and reactions and also add ocean wave crashing sounds at cliff bluffs like pebble beach. Seeing the waves with no sound takes away from the realism. Immersing in headphones? awesome!
First off, I do love the game. my only complaint is that there are waaaaaay too many hole outs from off the green. An example... I played one of the challenges and played 17 holes as part of the challenge. During that challenge, my opponent needed to hole out to either tie or beat me 9 times. Of those 9 times, they holed out from off the green (from various distances) SEVEN times. That's just ridiculous. Otherwise, the game is fun. But that needs to be fixed.
Good game but it would help if you had more shot/club information and though not unique to this golf game it’s expensive. All golf games seem to be at least slightly more expensive then other games as a whole. In the real world it’s expensive so it being a game of affluence in life it makes sense that it has a higher amount of real cash in the gaming world. It’s pretty easy game to understand even without out practical knowledge of the game of golf itself but most likely won’t be of much interest to those without at least a passing interest to the real game. Compared to other golf games hitting the ball the right way, at least to me, is easier but more detailed shot distance and club distance would be helpful. I really have no actual complaints about the game just slight issues that you see in any game where you need to hit or shoot something with a certain amount of accuracy. It’s easier to play than other golf games, the issues with distance and accuracy will probably lessen with repeated play and it has above average replay ability. And the key issues with most free to play games is in app purchases which are slightly more expensive then other non golf games and competitive with most golf games.
Typical stuff... As long as you don't get into spending (throwing away) cash, this isn't a bad game. I play nearly every golf game available and this is, actually, one of the better ones. A lot of stuff is unclear so I just play the best I can and try to enjoy it. I'm 72, with little money to waste on games, so I buy NOTHING! I just have fun. When I lose, I watch the videos to re-supply my coin count and that's the most of anything that I'll spend. Worth the download.
I enjoy this game. I'm learning and adapting. One difficulty is with the shooting method, because it feels to me like a catapult rather than a golf stroke, and I'm having difficulty judging direction and power..., but as I said:...learn and adapt..., or leave it...no reason to aggravate a/o frustrate. Would be nicer with more variety of course too, of course . . . let's see what the future has in store...
This game is fun but you won't win many head to head matches unless you pitch it in from the fairway. Even if your bag and ball selection is far superior to your opponent. They usually end in a tie. Also every time you return to the home screen there are at least two pop up ads trying to get you to purchase balls or pin packs. It gets tiresome.
A fun game, just addictive enough to keep you coming back to casually play a quick hole or two. Graphics are great; gameplay could use a little optimizing; but the reason it lost stars is (aside from the 3 pop-ups every time you hit the Home screen), is that it seems like bots are taking over. No way this many different people can chip it in from 70+ yards away to tie up the hole right when they need it and with such an awful swing!
It's a fun game, but once you get to a certain level, all the winning players are either bots or cheating in some way. I played a trio where the winner was -6, meaning they aced a par three and eagled two par fours. just no way a human put up that score. It's a shame this problem exists, because otherwise the game is great. Also, I think the game would be more fun if there were no replays in tournaments. Allowing replays gives a big edge to people who can devote the time to multiple attempts.
It's initially a pretty fun game - courses are nice, mechanics are easy to understand, and it seems to throw a lot of upgrades / goodies your way (sounds like a casino slot machine at some points). Then the "not so great" side. The head to head mode is obnoxious. 99% of the time you tie your opponent and have to go to a shoot out. The courses are super repetitive. There's also not much of a skill gap due to the easy mechanics - it's pretty much just who has the better gear + a bit of luck.
I've easily played this game more than any other app I've ever installed. I've really enjoyed the challenge of mastering the mechanics of the game. Here's my frustration: Once you reach a certain level, it is virtually impossible to compete. Between what appears to be bots that can score 30 under on an 18-hole course, or challenges that require you to use golf balls that you had to pay to obtain, or pricing out different tournaments to the point where you go bankrupt. I'm close to uninstalling.
If you’ve played other similar golf games like Golf Clash, you’ll find this fun. It had its pluses, like daily tournaments, and other features and play modes that allow you to win prizes, and level up your equipment more quickly than other games like this. My one big problem with this game, is that game play is wildly inconsistent. Same shots can have very different outcomes. I’ll keep playing because it is fun, and you don’t have to spend crazy money to move up. I have yet to spend a dime. Just know going in that there will be times you say to yourself, “How the **** did that happen??” After another week of play, I’m downgrading a star. Gameplay is just so quirky that I question whether I’ll even continue playing. Moving the screen to get a better look at adjusting your shots for wind is very difficult, not smooth at all, and buttons are in bad places, and very sensitive. Have “accidentally” hit shots more than a couple times. Game has some really good qualities, but gameplay is so erratic as to be frustrating. Much better games of similar ilk on the market. Glad I haven’t spent a penny on it. Probably won’t be at it much longer.
I have seen that there are way to many pop ups when trying to select a game and to check the clubs to upgrade and anything else even after completing any and all games. This should only happen when you load up the app before anything and only there. I have seen not only me but others playing the same hole as me we have a vary shirt put and it’s only two or three feet away with a straight shot that the game stops the ball exactly on the edge and we end up with a par or worse. That is frustrating immensely. In rookie mode the more money a player gets the wind is greater when it should only be that way on veteran 2 and higher. We all should get a chance to also select a better putter as we advance as well. There is a hole that shows a cross wind at 10 and at 12 plus at times going right so when adjusting for this the ball goes straight. Now when the wind goes to the left then our ball goes way left when adjusting for wind. You would see more people possibly paying for this game if there were fixes with these to start with. I will send you my thoughts on the fairways another day but for right now I know they are way to narrow and trees are hit when the ball is hit straight just for starters. It's a fun game, but there are some frustrating tech issues. The game can lag when you are taking a shot, which gives you a huge hook or slice that isn't accurate. This happens a few times a day, depending on how much you play. Also, you can be mid match and lose connection with their server, which ends up handing you a loss even if you were inches from the hole and your opponent was in a sand trap. That's happened in different places to me, so I know it isn't my connection that's dropping.
the graphics on this game are absolutely stunning. They’re the most realistic of any golf game available for mobile devices. I love that u don’t have to wait for other players and you’re not under a severe time restriction so u have to rush shots. However, the HUGE problem I’m referring to is probably going to end up being a deal breaker and will force me to stop playing soon unless there is a solution. The problem? Putting is an absolute travesty. There are only 2 outcomes WAY to often: 1) Either I wind up leaving the ball on the lip of the cup or I blow past it and wind up with an even longer putt than I started with. That elusive zone where you putt and leave it a few inches from the hole if u miss does not appear to be a repeatable option 75% of the time. That’s not a haphazard conclusion on my part either. I take my time and try to leave it as close to the hole as possible if it doesn’t drop, but that happy medium does not appear to exist. I’m hoping that a new putter will resolve this issue, just like other clubs I’ve received as I’ve advanced thru the game. However, there are no other putters listed like there are with all the other clubs, so this may not even be possible. 1st thing-I love the game. The big problem that I've had is that even though I've made $29.99 purchases before without problem,the 1 time that I had a problem it has been a nightmare to fix it. I didn't get part of the package that I paid for. I have always got what I paid for before and after this 1 time. U would think that they would just credit my acct. the missing imaginary items(holds no tangible value so no actual loss for company) but nope, would rather tell me I'm wrong and close case
Now this freaking game is starting to become a lot of glitches and shots dead on but hitting things that aren't at the hole. Stalling after you've tied. This is getting very frustrating and annoying. Especially if the pot is large
Only fun if you are willing to spend money, game play seems to change if you don't buy things. Your win to loss ratio seems to change if you don't spend money. It's not just a gear advantage, your opponents (at the same level as you and with the same trophy count as you) will start hitting hole in one's at an astonishing rate, while your shots will start hitting the flag or lipping out. Saw the same thing with golf clash, which is why I stopped playing it too.
Play visual is really good. The problem I find with it is that there is no tutorial that tells you how to use all of the clubs that you've accumulated, how to put back spin on the ball, how to use all of the other equipment that you accumulate, just poorly designed as far as learning the game goes.
Good game, I have, and never will spend a dime on it. Too expensive. IF you choose to play it like I am, just be prepared for the games developers to make life hard. On head to head matches you will run 10 or more games where you can not win short of a hole in one. You will also be matched with opponents WAAAAY above your level, sometimes double or more where you are. On some tourneys they make it next to impossible to hit the green in regulation, ensuring you score poorly. Back to those H2H matches….On the playoff hole is where they get you. I hit 20 feet away my opponent hits 18. I hit four feet away, opponent hits two. You will see when it’s happening because the opponent does not hit until AFTER you have hit. Some issues with ball not reacting to how it should in wind, but I’m tired of typing. Just know, you can play without spending cash, but be prepared for the game to cheat you out of some wins etc…..just deleted the game/app. Got tired of the cheating SOB. I never spent a single dime on it and I guess they track that cause it started making play very inconsistent, a shot that stopped short of the green on one shot flies and runs over it in similar conditions. The wind also is assbackwards, affecting the short shots waaaay more than the driver etc…so long jerks….”let’s go ultimate golf” Hi there! It's an odd game at best. The "windage" cannot be adjusted for, or if it is they're not telling. The other interesting thing is one plays a lot of bots. Easily discernable when playing one, but frustrating as the rules defined for the players don't seem to apply to the bots. This is the second time I have dl'd and installed this game. It is fun, but they are driving the player to spend a lot of cash if the player is truly competitive. Subtract one star from the above listing...
Each time I engage with this game, I feel compelled to submit yet another unfavorable review. It has become apparent that I have ceased buying balls and pins due to the evident manipulation within the game. While it is an enjoyable experience, I question why the developers do not allow us to play freely. The greed is disheartening, especially considering I have already invested $150 to participate. Remarkably, every opponent I encounter seems to never miss a shot. Should be a 5 star game 😢
If you're paying to play this game you're losing money to bots. You'll notice inconsistencies in the game play from the start but it's often in your favor. Then you'll reach a level where the game play changes and you can't win at all. The bots will start playing each round with the same pace and amazing shots to beat you. Every match is a tie and of course they're dropping an inch away from the cup. I tested this on two different phones and the game play follows the same pattern.
the graphics are actually way cool however, how is it possible to hole out 250 yds away consistently. I'm always ahead of my appointment by at least one stroke it's obvious when you're playing against the computer because they hole out no matter where they're at on the golf course. I used to spend a great deal of money on this game but I will never again spend a penny on this game as it is way too rigged. It really kind of sucks that you guys haven't fixed that. Wish I could give it no stars!
Some rave about this game…and in some ways they should. But sadly, the developers either don’t play golf or just don’t get the concept. They’re so close to a perfect golf game. But the small details they have left out are causing the biggest issues for me. I have worked pretty hard to scratch up some reward cash to upgrade my clubs. That helps me drive a little further and maybe hit a little more accurately. But if I can’t select a different club based on where I am and what I’m trying to accomplish, what’s the point? I’d also like to be able to buy upgrade points to get me to an upgrade faster…but I can’t. Don’t trust putter lines. They’re garbage way too often. I’ve lost THOUSANDS because I can’t get a solid read. And if you’re playing the wind, GOOD LUCK!!! The movement on one shot with a sidewind at 7mph will not be the same next time. Even with perfect shots. Tiebreaker games…. Lol. Ridiculous hole placement and, again, not able to select the club I want, has cost me plenty of games. It’s so frustrating. I’ve stopped playing as much as I used to because they take the fun out if it. Who wants to play golf blindfolded??? That’s what it feels like when you can’t read the slope or know the green speed. If you’re into golf and want to experience disappointment and frustration, you have 2 options. You can play this game… or go to an actual course and play with 4 clubs and a bottomless bucket of range balls. We are sorry you still share the same sentiment about our game. Trust me fellow gamers, don't waste your time on this game unless pay to play is your thing. Even if you hit perfect shots or putts the ball somehow magically pops out of the whole or stops short. They don't want you progressing too fast especially in tournaments. Biggest waste of time. One day I'll actually find a game out there that is fair. But for now, deleting.
It started out good a year ago, but now? They seem too interested in making money and making the game bigger. The wind inconsistently effects the ball, sometimes moves the ball twice as far as it should or doesn't move it at all. The meter skips when hitting the ball. You would think they would want make the game more accurate and better, but they prefer more money and bigger. Don't waste your time or especially your money.
Game went from fun, to a money grab filled with bots and ads. I've been casually playing this game for about a year and it's been a lot of fun until recently. Bots started taking over and winning every round. 3 trophies yet you're playing up at a level that requires 50 and you're winning every time, and this morning I found that they've added 30 second ads which have never been there. Sorry but I'm out.
Needs a one player option for you to practice on. I don't want to always play against others. Like every other golf video game I played had a one player vs the computer option. Maybe if y'all added that it would help because after waiting forever sometimes I just don't want to wait for some else to decide when they are gonna take the shot. Would come back if that is added.
This game, you can't change club near the green example. You can use a putter on the fringe of the green. Not in this game. You're forced to use a club instead. Putting the ball at the last second, it moves off the direction to miss the hole. You try counting the wind, and it doesn't matter the game, which puts you into harder issues. I dont recommend this game.
I loved this game first few weeks I played it. But as many said you need to pay money to be able to compete against many of the opponents once you get to the 300 level. It’s not a fair playing field when opponent can out drive you due to their club upgrades. Some holes can’t reach par 5 and they can easily to it. Still can compete but best to put all your game cash into short irons so you can beat them in tie breaker. My biggest issue is that the game is starting to crash when playing. Somehow it only crashed during higher level matches and you lose your entry $$$. So this 5* game gets a 3* from me. Hopefully they fix the bugs or time to find new one. Update to 1 star: After writing above review this morning. Game crashed on me again. The bad time is it only crashes when I am playing higher $$ games. Played 4 $1000 games and no issue. Build up to play $4K and it crashes. It game the countdown and I shot and opponent didn’t. Went to end game screen thinking I won and gave the match to them. I am so done with this game. Update: I finally get an email from the developer after who knows how long. I completely forgot about it cus I deleted the game after issue. Asked if I updated new version and “we have resolved some of the issues.” What a joke. Too bad I can’t lower a star Hi! Thank you for your feedback!
