when it works correctly, It's a very convenient feature. But it rarely connects my phone to the car correctly the first time. It does get there eventually though. I'm listed as the primary user in the computer but it almost always preloads my husband's and he's not even in the car. those hiccups aside though, it's nice being able to lock your car remotely if you forgot.

Doesn't fully work. Car on/off will say on, but the car won't be on upon inspection. The lock feature is glitchy, and it doesn't always work. Also, it does not connect to the phone every time, even if your phone is saved in the settings of the vehicle. App would be good if it worked properly and fully.

update: still can't clear error messages without forcing app to close. Remote start never works on the first try. Still can't clear all the notifications. It's been 4 years. Just let me clear the notifications. New update, cannot clear notifications even with app force closed. Unnecessary notifications. App still does not work. Keeps displaying pop ups and error messages. Can't clear all the error messages.

The app itself works pretty well, though I still get some notifications I turned off. So why the 2 stars? My free trial of Remote Connect ended. I'll pay for it, it's convenient. But I can't. I HAVE TO pay twice as much for a bundle of Remote Connect and something else I don't want. So instead of Toyota getting me to pay 100 bucks a year for something I actually want, I'm going to buy a 30 dollar airtag and just live without the other features. Dumb.

It's like a modern day 3 year old app. Slow to load. I have to press and hold the engine start sometimes 2 or 3 times just for it to recognize. The find my car map only uses half the screen because of a useless find my dealer and rentals tab taking up half the screen. It also isn't real-time tracking and the only way to refresh is to close and reopen the app. No way to tell if the car is locked at a glance either, you have to push the button to know. Try harder please

C+ as far as apps go. not a total kludge but everything seems to be more complicated than needed to get to what's needed. the biggest problem is the high monthly cost for remote connectivity. way overpriced for the few benefits you get. even if they try to pack in more mostly low value features to try to make the charges reasonable (they are not).

Don't believe any photos or promotional materials that show on-board navigation. You can KIND OF have on board navigation if you can connect Apple Play. However if you use any other type of smartphone, the in-car display console is an expensive mostly useless piece of plastic. You can run music & phone calls through, but that's about it. Since about a year or 2 ago they decided to stop supporting all other on board apps.

Remote climate control start just broke. Right when we're in a heat wave. In October. Darn climate change. The app used to be able to locate the car too, years ago. Other than seeing the odometer reading, I'm not sure there's any functionality left. The dealer that I use for service prefer to schedule using their own website, so that aspect of the app isn't useful either.

The main feature of Toyota connect, is to say "hey Toyota connect my phone". because the Toyota I own never seems to be able to connect the phone half the time. I would also like to add that it'll send you a message saying multiple vehicle alerts. when you open the app, you can't see what the vehicle alerts are. the only thing you can find is typically doors unlocked. when it's parked in the garage, that's a useless alert you can't turn off

Intrusive and useless. Waste of battery. Can't even upgrade software or install support for other languages. Only has English, French, and Spanish. No German, no Japanese, nothing. For a Japanese product, it has less features than Nissan. You'd think a 2025 Toyota would have all the bells and whistles, but it's a hassle to even get it to connect to bluetooth. This app does nothing for me. Older cars and aftermarket head units have better features. This app is good for roadside assistance only.

Even though I selected "keep me signed in" to the App, EVERY SINGLE TIME I open the App, I have to sign in again. Very frustrating! Then it automatically sends me a code even though I want to sign him with my password. The App also says I have multiple vehicle alerts, but there is only one alert saying the doors are unlocked. This could be a good App if they tried harder. Every time my wife tries to sign in the app, it freezes, then she has to delete it and reinstall it.

If they had a zero I would select it. Terrible app. Toyota should find all the people responsible and fire them. I have to sign in constantly. Passwords, 8 digit pins, six digit codes. I select 'stay signed in' every time I sign in but it doesn't work. Not enough characters to explain the process of getting it working for 2 drivers. Disappointed, didn't expect Toyota to ever have a product this pathetic. I will not be subscribing when my trial runs out.

Car with less than 200 miles. App not working AGAIN! Frequently fails to load , shows a DOWNTIME notice. Slowest app on my Android. Why would I buy a subscription to remote-start? Are we supposed to get impressed by all the sales tools? Access to all the settings would be useful, this app is not. Doesn't open/close car windows, only shows their status.

The app had always been pretty lackluster but at least I could lock/unlock the car from my phone. Now I've come to find out that the few remote options I had were part of a trial and now behind a monthly pay wall. It's ridiculous that I should have to pay a monthly fee for a handful of remote controls, those sort of features should be a given! Way to dime and nickel your customers, Toyota.

Update: An update was done, but the pay feature STILL doesn't work. I tried to use the online website, but can't remember my username and going through the email steps they say "your username is ___". Literally, just blank. No username attached. I'd give negative stars if I could at this point. The pay feature doesn't work. Hasn't worked in months, just says something went wrong on their end and to try again later. I used to be able to start and lock from the app but that's now extra I guess

Don't buy from Toyota The app is garbage it worked for the first week thats it. Cant view my loan details, make a payment, or check if I made a payment already w/o using the app unless I call the phone number, go through all the prompts and I still won't have access to everything I need anyways. I try to remote access but that doesn't work, we had it over a year so I think we need to pay at this point only it doesn't explain that to you or offer to purchase the feature so that's just my guess

this is the dumbest app. it never works. my car keeps telling me the navigation app isn't installed and I need to use the Toyota app to install navigation but there's no app option that I can find. trying to renew remote connect and it keeps saying "oops something went wrong. try again in a few minutes." why is there no other way to renew without using this terrible app? why is there no other way to download navigation to the car? when my phone is connected, why can't it connect without the cord

Completely USELESS. Never works, or at least it hasn't in a really long time! Then you get gouged for cash if you want to actually use something. For what I'm paying for this truck, it should be included at least through the warranty. I started out being able to make my payments in the app, then without notice, I couldn't anymore.

Just bought a Toyota a few weeks ago, and this app doesn't work all the time. Today the app won't even open. I have already had to reconnect with my car once because it wouldn't make voice command phone calls. I hate to, but Im guessing I have to uninstall, reinstall and connect my car again. A little disappointed with the Toyota product.

I have enjoyed the app immensely the past year with my free subscription. Now I have to pay a monthly fee to continue. I literally only want the remote subscription, but they force you to combine it with either a navigation app or a music lovers app, both of which you don't need if you use Android Auto or Apple to connect to your vehicle. There should be an option for only the remote, be realistic with your consumers needs, this isn't an inexpensive service you are providing. Do better.
