I like the app more than it's competitor T, but still that app has its glitches. Unable to download federal nor state using the app. It is not that "smart", prompts needs correction, fix now, but then takes me at the beginning, then I have to search where the issue is. It should be I click Fix Now and take me to the location. False advertising, FREE and then at the end is charging me, I don't know where the charges come from, nor let's me know why it is no longer free, bogus marketing scam.
Nothing seems to work properly in this app. Can't log in using a password manager. If you switch to a different app to get info for filling out forms, it clears the form and loses all progress. If you press the back button at all, it logs you out and loses progress in whatever form you were filling out. Can't download prior year tax return PDFs (the button doesn't do anything). Most of these issues have been ongoing for 2 or 3 years. Moving to a different service for my 2025 return.
taxslayer is a good service... but this app is not. it logs out any time you hit the 'back' button on your phone, it asks to confirm you are human on both the username and password entry pages on login. it frequently 'forgets' things that you've typed in, and is generally not intuitive to navigate. Making good apps is not hard these days, there really are no excuses for this sort of basic usability issues. Taxslayer, you can do better.
This app is absolutely frustrating. I've been using tax Slayer for as long as I can remember and I think it might be time to move on. High fees, even higher fees if you're poor and can't afford their high upfront fees. and what do these high fees get you? a terrible app that makes logging in ridiculous and timing out before you can find the information to input and then you're logging back in and starting over because apparently when it times out after 30 seconds it doesn't save.
TaxSlayer is great & I've used it for over 15 years but the app is anything but. Click back... logged out. Swipe to go back... logged out. Turn your phone to landscape and back again... logged out. Click for a more detailed explanation of something and try to close the window... logged out. When logging in, you cannot click your saved username and password to auto fill it because the app will not allow it and you have to verify that you're human twice. They should try to at least appear to care.
