Was using Albert for 3 years but it never helped me make budgets so I switched to true bill (now rocket money) and so far I like it much better. One of my credit cards has issues connecting but other than that it's perfect for what I need. Edit: I'm still having issues connecting the one card but I know it has to do with the bank itself. Other than that, this app has been really helpful when it comes to tracking my spending and my savings trends which has become a game changer for my finances.
Needed to make a budget plan but didn't want to have to spend hours inputting everything manually. This sets it all up for you and lays it out as accurately as it can to start. The best part in my opinion is after set up you can adjust it all to how you need no matter what you're looking to do either saving money, budgeting or trying to simply cut expenses/monthly bills. Great App by far and super user-friendly.
Impressed! I dont even fool with my bank anymore, this app is amazing! I have literally saved $1,500 without even knowing it, as it only takes small increments of money IF YOU ALLOW IT, to save for emergencies, and the best part, you control it! Example, If I don't want it to take from my account if my balance is 1000 or below, it doesn't! Plus it found and canceled subscriptions I never knew I had or still have. It keeps track of everything you spend so at the end of the day you can sleep!
Within 2 days of using this app I discovered I was paying double on two car insurance accounts that I thought had been canceled. No matter how good with your money you think you are. I assure you there is one lingering thing out there that you probably aren't aware of that this app is going to find. Amazing! And it also lets you choose your monthly payment. You heard that right, it's a sliding scale feature. This is an amazing tool and instant money saver.
AMAZING sums up my experience! (And I'm a VERY strict "Google Reviewer" who doesnt beat around the bush). Now, WHAT THE APP DOES (ON IT'S OWN btw!!) SHOCKED me to see things I was paying for without even knowing! It's EXTREMELY hard & mostly impossible for ME to be able to check my bank account EVERYDAY for automatic payments that come out. As far as the app itself, has lots of features/options- takes some time to navigate/learn. It simplifies things & ALLOWS YOU TO CANCEL RIGHT FROM THE APP!!
Rocket Money gives a very detailed report of all your coins. You can choose from a wide range of categories. Create budgets, savings, retirement, and wherever else you want to save for. It keeps an accurate account of all income. This is a very unique app that I hope does not disappear. I've been on a mission telling so many people about this app. This is a requirement for all my personal finance classes with high school students. It's superb!
1. Super easy to categorize all of my transactions and add notes on the fly. 2. Lets me know what has been reviewed and what hasn't so I'm never wasting time reviewing it more than once. 3. When I'm doing my budget I can easily see what I've spent in that category for the last few months. 4. Budget reminders let me know when I'm overspending in a specific category. 5. Easily see what bills are coming up for the next pay cycles so that I know when I have extra money to pay down debt.
There is something to be said about a piece of mind when it comes to personal finances. Rocket Money places all your bills and spending into easy to read categories. I like that once the initial set up was done, the numbers didn't have to be entered manually. There is so much helpful advice on budgeting and credit use. No pressure to use any of the programs, or pay for subscriptions. Oh, they also kill subscriptions you don't want. The best sell for me was saving 80 dollars car insurance!
I have never commented on an app before in my life. That was because I’ve never felt genuine value in my life from an app. I’ve had apps I’ve liked and thought were fun, but Rocket has influenced my day to day life more than any other. I have saved over $50 a month from their unsubscribtion service. I had a Chegg subscription that I got in college 4 years ago, I had completely forgotten about this as I used it for one homework assignment and I guess I forgot to unsubscribe. Because it was so long ago I had forgot all the login information. I had tried to call Chegg themselves, but they said because I don’t have the login info they can’t help me. I saw Rocket’s ad on TV and downloaded it. I came to find that they had, without my knowledge, increased the tier I had been paying for from $5 to $35 a month. I submitted a ticket for Rocket to help. I submitted it with only about half the required information filled out, but I explained the situation fully in the comments. Rockets wait time is 10 days, and I thought because this is an involved incident I’d probably get billed next month because it’ll take longer than that. It was done within 3 hours. This company is a well oiled machine, and this is a fantastic product that you get to pay what you want to monthly. After this incident, for saving me $50 a month, I’ve cancelled all my subscriptions and now the only subscription I pay for is $5 to Rocket Money of my own free will.
This app is amazing! I cannot recommend it enough! It took me from groping in the dark about my subscriptions and auto payments to being able to see clearly, not only the big picture and next steps, and upcoming automatic payments so I could prepare, but also, with just one click, all the pertinent details for each. But that’s not all! With just another click or two I have detailed instructions on all my options to cancel the subscription. And all of this with the free account! What would it do for me if I had a paid account! Wow! There is no way to calculate how much time this has already saved me! Now, instead of having to block out chunks of time to sit down and get a handle on my finances, and figure out what to tweak, I can easily make significant progress in just minutes, during a break at work, or when I am waiting for an appointment. There is no wasted time trying to remember where I was and what needs to be done next. Just open the app with my fingerprint, and it’s all right there! Exactly what is coming up in the next few days, in plenty of time to be ready for the payment or cancel if it is no longer pertinent! I vote this the most impactful personal finance app ever! Genius!
You're never too old to start getting a better handle on your finances, especially when you're suddenly on a more fixed income. Rocket Money has been a game changer. I was paying for things I had forgotten about/no longer use and they cancelled several of them for me (at my request). They can negotiate lower monthly payments, track & monitor both spending and income, categorize bills, and SO much more. I've tried other apps and Rocket is the simplest, most trustworthy and reliable one by far.
This has been an incredible app that helps me save money without even noticing I'm doing so. I was going on a trip and was set back due to an unexpected bill. I was going through my bank statement and saw truebill a few times and thought wait a minute!!!! I have savings!!! I've been putting random small amounts of money into this account for about 6mo. I went and transferred the money & w/in 2 days it was there. It's discreet enough to forget about but wonderful once remembered. It's a great App!
I got this app because I wanted to start tracking my spending. And let me tell you it does one hell of a job for that!! It sorts my spending in different categories and even compares my spending month to month. I’ve been trying to save up for a car (I’m a college student) so I really wanted to know where all my money has been going. This app makes it so simple and easy to track all of it in one place. It has a saving feature (you don’t have to use it) that takes money out of my account and puts it aside so I can save up without having to lift a finger. It tells me the amount and what kind of bills I have coming up, so if I need to cancel anything I know about it long before hand. My favorite part is TrueProtect. This feature allows them to help negotiate lower rates for your bills, get refunds for internet outages, lower your energy costs and even cancel unwanted subscriptions. If you don’t want to deal with those payments, they will even contact the company on your behalf! No more calling and waiting on hold for hours! On the home screen, the dashboard, it shows exactly how much money I have on hand, saved up, invested, my card balance and spending for the week/month/quarter whatever you choose. This really is an all in one when it comes to financing. This app is nothing like the rest!
This app is, without a doubt, the best budgeting app available. I’ve used other apps, quite a few actually, but each at my views has features I like but lacks other features that I need or want. Is everything I want and more. I love that I can connect my account so when I spend money on my debit card I don’t have to remember to manually add my purchase so it makes my budgeting more accurate and easy. Plus you can attach more than one account so my boyfriend and I both have our accounts linked so now he doesn’t have to try to remember to tell me every little purchase he made so our budget stays accurate. The layout is simple and it’s so easy to find your way around everything. You can also view your credit score in the app which is cool. In my opinion, the best feature is the ability to cancel subscriptions within the app. There were so many subscriptions I signed up for using a free trial that I had forgot about and was either being charged or they were still attempting to try to charge my card and you can just click cancel subscription for me and they’ll cancel it for you! It’s awesome and saves me so much time and money. They also will negotiate your bill with the provider to lower your bill which is freaking awesome!!
I’m very into having apps and programs helping me with my banking. I’ve been using Quicken for personal and business since 1997. Truebill has been the easiest app to load all of my bank accounts and investments and it’s keeping track of my bills for me.. something I (along with most people who pay their bills!) am always worried about- is it getting paid on time? Am I paying more than I was? Do I have enough to cover upcoming bills? WHAT ARE my upcoming bills?? Reconciling through Quicken has always been (and I probably always will) a necessity for me. But Truebill has kept me from opening Quicken for over a week! I am getting all the info I need right now! They found extra charges I probably never would have known about. Transactions come through in one place, including my investment accounts. Truebill questions transactions I never would have noticed! I’ve already gotten back over $200 due to discrepancies THEY found and notified me about! And their customer service is awesome too.. thank you Malcolm!
Very good at letting me know when a bill is upcoming, as well as when my credit card has been charged a larger than usual amount. I love that feature, since you can't always trust the people who handle your credit card (restaurants, etc) and gives you a chance to get on top of a possible theft. I love adding each purchase to a category for ease of budgeting too. I love seeing the subscriptions I have coming up, so I can cancel them as needed, too. I do love RocketMoney!! I don't like the fee.
Editing because I spent some significant time talking to my bank, who finally admitted that they don't support any 3rd party financial apps like this. But I loved this app, it helped me so much! I'm only knocking off a star because it continued saying that it was successfully synced for a few days after it stopped updating. That could have been bad if I hadn't caught it
Hello! I love this app so far I love the layout how I can do everything visually with the easy drop down menus, etc. There is just one thing I wish you had and that is a calendar that opens up to pick a date. For example: if I knew I was meeting my new landlord and we have a weekly payment arrangement and I know I get paid next Friday I can scroll but it’s visually easier if I were to be able to just open a calendar and see the whole layout of the week, some people get paid or pay some things in a different way. Something else that would be cool is if it could read a pay and due pattern. And tell you how much of your projected pay or average a weekly amount you’ll need for what’s due that week based on minimum income. Maybe a tool to help people who are self employed kind of better manage their lump sum paydays into lasting a little longer. It would be REALLY cool if there was a feature that could tie into building your credit score by chipping away at old or attained debts and also disputing through the app. Even with that link setup would be handy; I’m not sure the rule book for your company. But you’re doing a fantastic job so far I’m finally get back on track with a budget :) thanks so much!
Rocket Money is a smart, user-friendly app thats helped me get a much clearer view of my personal finances. I started using it to track subscriptions, but I quickly realized it's so much more than that. It automatically detects recurring charges (even sneaky ones), help negotiate bills, and gives detailed breakdowns of spending by category- which has really helped me become more intentional with my budgeting.
3.5 stars. I didn't get this app for the subscription cancel ads. That is worthless to me. I downloaded it because my old budget app closed down. I like this app for the most part, except for income and savings. We get 1 monthly income deposit and 1 income check every other week. Because the check every other week is a physical check that I manually deposit, the system doesn't recognize it as income, so I can't use the paycheck feature. Also, my savings accounts are not shown or included!!!
I started using this app when it was still Truebill. Truebill was great. How much you paid for it was optional--i chose $3/month, which was great. The app worked well and I felt $3/month was free for the way I was using it. I even recommended it to my friends. When truebill switched to this Rocket Money app, they increased the cost to nearly $30/ month without asking me or notifying me. It is now glitchy and less helpful in monitoring spending. Pretty disappointed in this switch.
Expensive Fee Renegotiation Once you ask them for a fee renegotiation, you will be charged up front for at minimum 35% of the total amount they could have saved you within a year. I was considering canceling that particular service and had I been given the option to see how much they could save, even being a pretty good savings, it was not as good as the zero dollars I would be charged for the rest of the year had I canceled.
very intuitive ui. really helps visualize your budget if you get a fixed amount every month. only three stars because i'm constantly-- and i mean *constantly*-- having to go through the tedious process of reconnecting my bank account to the app. never stays connected for more than a day. what's the point if it never syncs? then i have to go through my bank and unlock my bank acct, reset my bank security questions, etc. otherwise, the app is ok. had it for 3 months now and no changes.
The app is good for a one-stop look at your accounts. It claims it can lower your bills, but that feature has never once been successful. It pretended to work once, lowered my Metronet bill by a bit, forced me to pay part of that saving, and then my next bill was increased by the same amount. I was charged for the app doing nothing.
I installed and subscribed to the app for one subscription I wanted it to cancel for me but it couldn't help me. It told me the steps to take but I already knew the steps (going in person or writing a certified letter). Furthermore, it does have other features, but I already use the same features on other apps for free. Thus, this app is for you if you are unaware of the subscriptions (and monthly payments) you make, otherwise you will not need it.
Ok app. Really nickels and dimes you for everything. Go premium cost $ (and really not useful without it). Want to lower bills like the ads, that's more $ (not really sure if it actually works). In the end, I just went back to my old budgeting software. This would have ended up costing me more money than without it.
This is not a free service, you'll pay a monthly fee on a sliding scale to access the useful features. You have to pay a lump sum up front on any amount the app saves you on any given account. If it saves you money from bill negotiation services or gets a credit on your bill, this fee is charged upfront. For example, if they are able to save you $20 a month off of your cable and internet, and you choose to pay Rocket Money the suggested success fee amount of 40%, you’ll pay $96 upfront
Works pretty well, with the exception of duplicating some of my transactions which ive had to manually fix. That part is tolerable, but as other people are mentioning, the app logs me out every 2-3 days. This has occurred several times for me in the last month or 2. I've contacted support on this each time, it's time this gets resolved more permanently or else I'll be finding another budget app.
Rocket Money used to be great but over time it has turned into another useless app with a yearly subscription that does nothing valuable. The credit score is inaccurate, budgeting doesn't work because it doesn't detect half your transactions, and they don't actually help with cancelling subscriptions or anything like that, they just have links that take you to the website to do it yourself. I was a happy subscriber for over a year, but now I've deleted my account and the app and will not return.
I haven't paid for it, but first of all, since downloading it maybe two days ago, I have been inundated with calls asking me what I am looking for in refinancing my mortgage. I never sought out anything about refinancing my mortgage, and this is the only correlation I could find. outside of that, I guess the app is fine for organizing spending categories, but it has missed some of my subscriptions and I cannot yet combine one of my accounts (like others have noted, it just stalls when I try).
I got the app yesterday and set up my financial accounts, filled out all the information, even subscribed to it. I get notifications from the app but every time I attempt to open the app it just freezes on the intro page. when I click the notifications, when I open the app, nothing. just freezes and never loads even after several minutes of letting it work itself out. why pay for an app that's useless, right?
