You're probably going to love the Android Compass app if you're an adventurer. There are nearly a dozen different types of compasses in the Compass app, along with five different backgrounds to choose from, as you can probably guess. You will also be able to tweak the Compass app to your liking thanks to the impressive configuration features.
The Compass App is a great way to keep track of your current location, as well as find directions to wherever you need to go. As soon as you open the app, it will show you your current location on a map. You can then search for any address or landmark that you need directions to. The Compass App will give you step-by-step directions to get there, as well as an estimated time of arrival. You can also save frequently visited locations so that you can quickly get directions to them in the future.
Assuming you have the Compass app downloaded on your mobile device, open the app. The first page that appears is the map page. In the middle of the screen, there is a large compass needle pointing north. Above the needle, it says “True North” and below the needle, it says “Magnetic North.” If you are in Northern Hemisphere, True North will be slightly to the left of Magnetic North and if you are in Southern Hemisphere, True North will be slightly to the right of Magnetic North.
There are four icons at the bottom of the map page: My Location, Search, Share, and Settings.
If you tap on My Location, a blue dot will appear on wherever you are on the map and your current address will be displayed below the compass needle. If you want to search for a specific place, tap on Search and type in an address or name of a place. After you find your desired location, tap on it and information about that place will appear (ex: business hours, rating, website). To share your current location or a specific place with someone else via text message or social media apps like Twitter or Facebook Messenger, tap on Share. Lastly, Settings is where you can change units (miles/kilometers), language (English/Spanish), and map style (normal/satellite).
The Compass app is a great tool not just for finding directions but also for local businesses and exploring new areas
There are a lot of things to like about the Compass app. It's accurate, it's easy to use, and it's helpful in a variety of situations. But there are also some drawbacks that you should be aware of before you download the app.
PROS:
-The app is very accurate. It uses GPS to pinpoint your location and then provides directions that are reliable.
-The interface is user-friendly and easy to navigate. Even if you've never used a compass before, you'll be able to figure out how to use this app without any trouble.
-Compass can be helpful in a number of different situations. Whether you're trying to find your way around a new city or you're hiking in the wilderness, this app can come in handy.
CONS:
-GPS can drain your battery life quickly, so if you're using Compass for extended periods of time, it could cause your phone to die prematurely.
-The app doesn't work well indoors because it relies on GPS signals from satellites. If you're trying to use Compass inside a building or other shelter, it probably won't work properly.
