love most everything except for a couple of details after the last two updated. overall, I don't know how I'd live without it. highly recommended.
except for difficulty connecting to the phone I specifically bought because it was on the list of supported units, the hearing aids are great. They manage to allow me to hear nature very well but are not too good with crowded rooms or TVs.
Update: finally the app/hearing aids are staying connected almost all the time. The only time they disconnect is when my phone switches from wifi to 5g connection. Then a quick toggle to airplane mode and back and they reconnect. The direct streaming is working well. Congatulations Beltone. Keep fine tuning the minor connection issues and you have a great product. These are the best sound quality hearing aids i have had in 15 years.
This app is fine when streaming audio works. But it drops from my phone on a regular basis. I've been told it's an Android thing, but Android is open source. Time to fix this. Also, can we have more than bass, mids and treble sliders? How about specific frequencies like an equalizer? Maybe more in line with what's on an audiogram. These issues aside, I do like the app. Sounds like I'm griping but it does me some good since I can save custom programs. Just want a bit more reliability and control.
We should be able to adjust our aid ourselves while the aid continues making other adjustments to protect our hearing. It is bad enough having to go to work on a machine and the sound lowers and thinking that your battery is dead and not having control adjusting the sound. Every day, not knowing that you are raising your voice trying to hear your voice and after leaving work you hit your head saying, "I've done it again!". May as well not wear the aid and miss the sound you heard before.
Something is a miss here. The app stays connected on my samsung phone however, it looses connectivity on a regular basis. Sometimes the airplane on/off works but most of the time it does not. I end up rebooting my phone. Once I do that, connectivity returns for a bit, then I have got to do it again and again. Yes, I did update the app at Beltone.
I bought from Beltone BECAUSE of their app and their rep. "Zack" was recommended. Zack is great, but their app is terrible. It keeps disconnecting and won't reconnect both aids. They were sent off to be worked on, and now the left shows up as the right and the right shows as left. If this isn't corrected soon, I definitely won't ever buy from them again, and I can't recommend them to anyone.
The app is returning a device is found to be jailbreak on a Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 Android 15 after taking an upgrade Aug 1st. Both OS and App versions are the latest. Device is not jailbreak or rooted. App works on other devices.
Literally have to re pair the hearing aids to the app once a day. Used to happen occasionally, but now is a regular occurrence. App is basically useless in it's present form.
Update: its now Aug 2025 and this app is still awful. Fix random change to audio streaming all day long. 1/2025 This app no longer works properly with android update. I spend several times a day at work changing my program back as it keeps randomly disconnecting going to audio streaming . Theres a notice on the app abput this related to Android 12 but its been a month of this. It gets even worse when I'm around other Bluetooth devices in my home. This app needs to work with phone updates
I am blind and use a screen reader. The app is not accessible. I can't read the status to tell me how much charge thhe battery has. I can't read the different volume sliders to tell which part of the hearing aide I turn up or down or the number of the volume. I contacted the company with feedback on how to make the volume more accessible, and the company said they could fix it maybe in a year, but they would escalate the issue
Software for these hearing aids is horrible at best. One hearing aid randomly disconnects. Then takes between 8 and 10 tries to reconnect. This entails unpairing them. Force stopping the app. Over and over. What a joke for the price i paid. Will most likely NEVER but beltone again. Store rep sold me up the river saying" oh they work with every Android phone". No no they don't do your research. I would have never bought these knowing they wouldn't work with my device. But beware. Don't buy
This app is ABSOLUTELY USELESS for an Android. If I could give it a zero or negative star I would. It allows you to pair your hearing aids to yourr phone but that is all. When you get toward the last part of the install process it tells you that it is unable to connct to your hearing aids. If you do manage to get it to pair with your hear aids as soon as you get out of blue tooth range of you phone it disconnects and you have to go through all of the pairing nonsense AGAIN!!
I just recently changed to a Samsung S21 5G phone. Some features seem more stable but the connection to the hearing aids is terrible. It constantly looses connection to one or the other side and the only way I have found to get them to both re-connect is to reboot the phone. This is a huge annoyance. Please check if there are issues with connecting with this phone and correct the issue asap.
It worked pretty well for about a month. I enjoyed being able to change to 'Restaurant' environment and take calls through my hearing aids. Then my Galaxy S20, Android 12,downloaded a software update. Now, one or the other of the aids will lose its connection - often in the middle of a call or while streaming. The app WILL NOT reliably keep its bluetooth connection! Unpairing/re-pairing several times every day to restore the connection is not worth the aggravation. Fuggedaboutit!
This app never works right. If it doesn't pick up hearing aides & you go to "pair new aides" it says it has found your aides and proceeds to connect them... except it never connects. You can't shut it down. It goes on for hours draining the battery. It automatically goes into "demo" mode & you cannot get it out. Sometimes you can get it working if you uninstall it but you have to do it numerous times & sometimes it doesn't work. Please fix it because many people depend on it. .
Part 1: I made an initial review on the 5th of April in 23. The Play store offered me an opportunity to edit that review, but I can't bring it up. So I'm starting over. My review echoes the vast bulk reviews that I have seen. Which is to say, it's awful! Or, at least, it is in my two different Android phones over several years. to be continued due to not nearly enough space...
