I was able to download it directly from the ANZ website on the day that I wrote the previous review, and it worked perfectly, so I have no idea why Google Play said I couldn't use it. ‐----------------------- I need this app for work, but I can't download it on my phone because "it was made for an older version of Android" Seriously? My phone is about 2 years old. How am I supposed to use it if it can't keep up with technology? Ive had to pull out an old Android, from 8 years ago, for it to work
There is a weakness in development of this app. If you cut and past the code you do not get any option to enter/go. You then need to bring up keyboard before you can use enter. I have worked in IT for many years but i was caught out
ANZ, can you please fix this app. If left open after using it on my Android phone and my phone times out and goes to sleep I have to hard reset the phone as the screen will not turn back on. Seems lots of Android users have the same issue. Pls fix ASAP Otherwise works as intended for me, but this is a big software bug that needs addressing urgently.
Love the idea of this app and its ease of use but it stuffs up my phone EVERYTIME I use it. I'm not one to provide feedback but this needs to be fixed. My phone goes completely blank, and won't work unless I force it to turn off and turn on again. If I didn't have to use this app for work, I wouldn't. Really hope that issue gets fixed asap as it's getting old really fast.
horrible app. slow. logs out continuously within seconds of moving away from the app. worst app and bank ove been with out of 6 different banks in Australia by far. I would avoid the bank purely on their poor internet banking and mobile app...let alone the horrible customer service.
As numerous other reviewers have mentioned, if I leave the app open, then it locks up my Android phone completely. No, I don't want to call some phone number and waste my time. Asking users to call and report is a very lazy response. You should be able to gather enough telemetry from the app to diagnose this issue. Edit: As expected, I received the standard copy paste response asking me to call for "further assistance". Get your act together ANZ.
Frequently freezes phone on black screen since update, and call anz to unlock takes 20-30 min, and on 2 occasion now they can't help and say try again in another hour. But they are sorry for our inconvenience and realize our time is valuable.... we'll fix this and have a back up system. As currently it is impossible to make time sensitive payments when this happens, twice we've had all our payroll of about 30 people paid a day late due to this issue. Thankyou ANZ for taking time to post your generic response and not even make an attempt to tailor it to the content of my message. And yes we did call as per above and they cannot assist, just fix the app and make a back up system when your primary system fails!
Awful App - It seems people have been having freezing issues on their Android for at least 2 years, but it is not fixed. No complaints from Apple users? So, because Android users choose to eat fruit instead of making it a phone/device, we are stuck with substandard service from one of Australia's biggest banks! I am not calling you, how about you call me? I'll put you on hold for an hour and then not fix your problem. You want to know our device information? Read the comments! All Android's!
DO NOT USE THIS GARBAGE APP. IT forgot I was logged in, then there is NO WAY TO FIX IT because the fix REQUIRES ITSELF to register a new version of itself! And then it LOCKED my internet banking online and I couldn't use that either without the APP, while the APP was telling me to use internet banking to activate it! This app is a total nightmare and should not be used by anyone.
No longer works. No longer have an option to do banking when travelling. Was working perfectly, now ANZ has placed another restriction on how we can use our phones. If developer mode is enabled then this app doesn't work. It is amazing the lack of thought and intelligence that goes into making such decisions. It is not ok that we are being forced to only access banking by an insecure mobile device, and not ok that they are telling us how we can use our own device i.e. insecurely.
Suddenly required re-registration (I haven't changed device), which can't be done without calling ANZ support. Also the app hasn't been updated for over 4 years, so I suspect ANZ have abandoned it, and I don't really trust it security wise.
Has very serious bug. If I leave the ANZ Shield app on and the screen times out, the phone locks up completely, just a totally black screen with unresponsive buttons. The only way I have found to get out of it is a soft reset. The phone is only two months old (Samsung Galaxy S20 FE running latest Android 10). I have uninstalled and reinstalled the app twice but still the same problem. I don't get this with any other app. I guess its just another bit of amateurish junk bank 'security' software.
Terrible. Need to update instructions on how to reset pin. 2 phone calls after long wait times only to be told just reinstall app. Could have done that without dealing with poor call centre if I had been given instructions on the app or even in the FAQs
I'm going to echo other people's sentiments regarding your implementation. When I went to get a sync code and was presented with a screen telling me that the app was already registered to another device I went "ok no biggie". After a while, I notice that now so cannot log in to my online banking because I need the shield code. I'm sorry did I authorise a change? Did I click agree or gave you the go ahead? Oh your system detected me looking at a section and decided to flip a switch? BIG BIGGIE!
