Honestly, this app is so calming even as an adult! And, as someone who has lived experiences dealing with a severe Dissociative Disorder, whenever we feel bad these tend to be some of our biggest comfort shoes, especially for our littles! (In regards to D.I.D)

Hello, I am a mom of a special needs teen I myself being an autistic adult with a special needs teen consistency really matters. When I had cable my daughter and I would watch the PBS kids 24/7 channel and our local PBS station alternating between the 2. I can no longer afford cable so I have an Apple TV device and we have the PBS kids video app. I’m so thankful that your app is FREE. Where as the competition channels are not free. You need a cable subscription which we do not have. But your station is FREE: I’m also so glad that you have brought back some of the older shows on the PBS kids video app such as Word World, Sci Girls, Mister Rogers Neighborhood and Maya and Miguel. My daughter LOVES word world we’ve struggled to find a place we can watch it and I can put it on for her my daughter is super excited for the new Daniel Tiger content coming out. I’m just all around so happy with your app. So thank you for being amazing and having an amazing app that we can enjoy for years to come.! Thank you for your kind review! We're glad you and your daughter are enjoying all our PBS KIDS shows. These reviews make our day and are the reason why we continue to produce and make our content available to as many people as possible. Thanks again for your support. - PBS KIDS

Hi I’m Meredith a mom of 3 girls Priscilla Ammonia and Lilia. My youngest daughters Priscilla and Ammonia have begged me for this app since forever and they really enjoy playing on this app. I got all episodes unlocked for them. They enjoy watching episodes of their favorite shows and sometimes I even watch along with them. PBS kids helps me get the stuff I need to get done well they watch tv on their tablets. This app is very educational and will help my girls in the future! You can play games, watch shorts and even watch you’re favorite shows! This app is going to help my children learn and grow throughout the future. They can learn social skills and more skills that will be successful for them. You can watch shows anytime and anywhere. I use to love PBS when I was little and I’ve passed it off to my girls and then new generations will always like it! PBS is like my childhood donation! I have many memories of this! I still have the app so I can interact with my daughters and teach them more so they can get ready for the school year!

I'm so glad that this app exists! with everything going on with... other online video watching platforms... I was so worried I wouldn't have something the kids I work with could watch safely! I'm so glad that I can support PBS and have something educational for the kids to watch.

How anyone could give this less than five stars beyond me. The content is unbelievable, and it’s FREE! Like really free. Like as in no ads, no banners, no pop-ups. There is literally nothing to purchase ever, and no way your child could accidentally wrack up charges like literally just about every other kids app that exists. All the content is completely wholesome. You will never, ever have to worry about what your kids are watching. The only people who are giving this low ratings are doing so for odd reasons like they can’t get it to cast properly to other devices, or it’s closing out the app when a phone call comes in, etc. All things that they could fix if they understood the settings on their devices. These are not issues caused by the app itself. Overall, I can’t imagine a more perfect app for kids.

New app is much easier to navigate. You can actually manage downloads now. And the team quickly to my user feedback and moved the live feed back up front. New issue, the episode selection menu on Android TV doesn't show the episode title when you first select a show (the playing video pushes the episode selection menu down on the page). You have to move down the page and back up to actually read the episode titles.

This is a fantastic app and it's used a lot by our five year old. My only issue is the data usage. When we first started using it there was an option for lower quality video vs. HD to reduce data use when you were on your network plan. That option has been taken out (or maybe I just can't find it anymore) and the amount of data this app now uses is staggering. Make SURE you have a WIFI connection or unlimited data. Frustratingly, this app also has issues disconnecting when minimized (currently on Android KitKat, though this has been an issue for awhile now), so you can't be sure the app isn't drawing data unless you manually close it out of the tray. I still highly recommend it, but you might have to have some rules governing when it can/can't be used.

I knocked a star off my rating because the new UI is hard to navigate, but otherwise, this is a great app. The shows are funny (usually). Content can feel a bit uninspired, especially with shows for kids ages 2-5. A mini suggestion for PBS: Add more shows for older kids.

This app is wonderful and we love the content in our family. We cast to our tv and could not be happier. The only reason why this doesn't get 5 stars is because there is no way to set the app to turn off/end/stop casting at the end of an episode! It autoplays forever and I can't find any way to make it stop other than sit there and hope I can stop casting fast enough before the next episode starts and the meltdown begins. Please add the ability to turn off autoplay!!

I love PBS. We are PBS supporters. I love this PBS kids app. We mostly watch Daniel tiger and Sesame Street. However, sometimes the app doesn't work. Today is one of those days where the wheel of death just keeps spinning around and around and around with no loading of any kind. Other times when it doesn't work, it's more of a connection problem for casting to the TV. Most of the time if I have the app on the background of my phone, casting to the TV, while I do other things like make phone calls etc, if I open the app again it completely refreshes and causes disconnection with what was already play on the TV (it'll start the episode over again or go to live TV or even the wheel of death comes on the TV because it's getting mixed signals). This is annoying. But not enough to make me hate the app, just disappointed. 4 ⭐️ because I LOVE PBS but the app needs a bit of tweaking. Hi Rachelswork - Thanks for the detailed feedback! We'll look into this a bit more and see what's going on. We apologize for the wheel of death - We'll look into this and see if we had any server issues. But thanks for supporting PBS KIDS! - Best, the PBS KIDS team

PBS Kids is dependable for having the best kids content—I never worry about what my kid is watching if I have him in here on Guided Access. It does, however, tend to crash/freeze a bunch (especially on older devices like an iPad Air 2, but also on our Apple TV HD) and for some reason often fails to stop the auto-playing stream when you choose something different to watch. This is worst on Apple TV, where you might try clicking to see the next Daniel Tiger episode from the TV app’s ‘up next’ selection, only to have the audio from an episode of Arthur (or whatever is next in the “Live TV” lineup) playing simultaneously with the Daniel Tiger episode — both at the same volume. I’ve learned to force quit the app then go directly to it to navigate to (in this example) Daniel Tiger, but the same thing can still happen even on iOS/iPadOS when choosing a video to watch while the “Live TV” selection is playing. Hi Sheepguy42, Thanks for your kind review and detailed feedback. We will look into the double audio and crashing issues and try to fix them ASAP. If you have any other information to share or need help with anything in the app, please feel free to reach out to us at [email protected] for support. Hope this helps! - the PBS KIDS team

Casting live TV to my Chromecast causes the video to completely freeze. I tried clearing data and cache, uninstalling and reinstalling, and even factory resetting my Chromecast. Same result. This does not happen when casting from the website using my laptop. No other casting issues with other apps. This used to work well, but not any longer. I am hoping it addressed and fixed. If you are just using it on the phone, everything works fine. If this gets fixed, I will change my rating.

I appreciate PBS kids stuff, but this app is insanely confusing to use. I don't know what any of these shows are and there's no text saying what it is. Just icons. Maneuvering what I'm looking at is extremely confusing as it seems like there's shorts? Episodes? And some kind of live TV maybe? I have no idea. Getting to episodes is not intuitive or easy. No search bar. Sub menus make no sense and I can barely figure the app out.

I don't know what they have changed in the app in the last year or few months but now the closed captions are very faint and can't be seen. And there is no obvious mechanism for adjusting it either which is highly disappointing

edit: they fixed my issue! my only issue now is that auto play can't be turned off. Tried watching downloaded videos on three different devices for four different flights with no success. It seems to want a connection even when trying a downloaded video on airplane mode.

Not designed for adults. The interface appears to be targeted at grade school children. It's simple, which is great for little kids. But it's too simplistic for adults. It only displays in landscape. No playlist options. It takes over your entire screen and makes it cumbersome to switch tasks quickly. I use it to cast video to our tv for my three young children, not watch in the app. The app isn't bad, it's just not convenient for adults to jump in and out or queue a playlist.

We love streaming from the PBS Kids app, and we cast to our TV. We really wish the app didn't force our phones into landscape mode the moment we launch it though! It's super frustrating, and it happens even when we have auto-rotate turned off. There's no reason for it to be in landscape when we're not watching it from that device. We'd love to see this changed in a future update. Thank you.

you really need to add a way to turn off auto play. using an android phone and casting to my TV, I have to be really on top of cutting the show off exactly when it ends otherwise, as parents of other toddlers know, we have a problem...

The content of PBS does are great as always. I use this app to cast shows on the TV. It would be helpful to have an in-picture scrolling and time bar (?). Sometimes, the kids want to rewatch a song/scene, and trying to find the start of it is like a stab in the dark. Also, the grown up button just changes the show that's playing. I don't understand the function or the purpose of that button.

Horrible. As soon as you open the app it starts playing an episode of a show (with audio). I can't find a way to turn off that feature and don't need a random episode of a random show to play while I'm just looking for something for my child to watch. I might try to use it for downloads on a plane but I'm so disappointed.

it has terrible 😔 videos for adults and teens like what it should have YouTube videos too. and the limited download space you can only have 25 videos downloaded. I had a trip and there was no Internet and my 5year old daughter hated the videos she was crying none stop then she threw up. The 10 HOUR car drive was horrible I again hate this app it's a very bad experience for moms like us. I personally hate it. DO NOT DOWNLOAD IT 😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡 😔😔😔😔😔😔😔😔😔😔😔😔
