This brings back so many great memories of my first RPGs. The battle system is fun and reminiscent of older turn based combo systems. Everything is well explained and intuitive. Many hours of free, PVE content and optional side quests. My only complaint is some side quests are repetitive and only seem to exist to pad the playable character roster. One improvement I could see would be an auto battle option for low level encounters.
I played the original really enjoyed it, loved it actually and super excited that they are coming out with a second one. Soundtrack is amazing, I can never get tired of the music, the arrangements, and transition of the songs. Overall a good game. But then the greed sets in and they release an event that would costs $300 to participate. So I removed the game today. I'd hate to think that this would turn people away from the original game. Specially those who are new to octopath.
Really enjoying the game so far. Story is good, controls are nice and responsive. Battle system is smooth and fun and the skills are pretty neat. Rubies are expensive and forging equipment takes some time to get mats. Summoning new character is slow need skip button for scenes on 10 draw. It is a good game though just some minor improvements and it be perfect. Recommend to give the game a try.
So far, it's been very fun. The gameplay and controls feel very optimized for mobile, the story is good, and the gacha mechanics are very much not in your face at all. My one complaint is that it doesn't feel very stable. Close your phone for fifteen seconds or swap to a different app for two and the whole thing crashes and you have to reload the game from your last autosave. Other than that though, give it a try.
Fun little RPG that reminds me of some old school games. The battle system is cool, drop rates are ok, but the dialog scenes are just ridiculous. You have to travel for mini missions just to tap the screen for 10 minutes. Need a skip feature for sure. I haven't opened the new update yet, but since the last one gameplay has been incredibly slow on my end. It takes 30 seconds to load any scene or anything I click, and it's super annoying. Gem prices are not worth paying for.
