I loved this game but unfortunately for some reason it's now unplayable. I can't get my 10 dollars I spent and I also can't play it at all which is very upsetting. It's full updated and I've tried reinstalling. Nothing works. Very unfortunate. EDIT: The devs were very understanding and quick to reach out. The issue is now patched and my rating is also patched! Thank you!
The digital version differs from the physical verision in a very small way. I would recommend it for learning the real game. Its fun and brutal. Probably the best adaption I've seen of a card game. The tutorial is fairly simple. Good replay value. Worth the $9.99 price tag. Rather play this for that price than a micro-transaction cash grab that says its free gaming.
I like this game a lot, and its both similar enough to the card game to feel familiar and enjoyable, as well as different enough to be interesting. The only issue I had so far was, when minimizing the ask for help screen, I wasn't even able to get back to it. The icon to return was literally off my screen. So after 10 minutes of clicking everything I could imagine I had to resign the game when I had a commanding lead. Not a huge deal, but quite frustrating.
I've ran into a few bugs but that's to be expected with such a new app. When the bugs are fixed, I would be thrilled to increase the stars. It does contain both Single and Multiplayer. It's nearly exactly like the tabletop version. Of anything that I've ever spent $10 on, this is the best even with the bugs. I love this game but have not had the people in my life to play with who've enjoyed it at much as I have. At least now I can play whenever I want to!
The game is fun and plays just like the physical version. My only issue are with game coding. Two examples are 1. The minimize button on the pop up windows, setimes it doesn't collapse all the way and I'm unable to reopen it without rebooting the game. 2. Specific items being coded, like the dousing rod. If i accidently click it when I'm trying to scroll through my equipment, it triggers as of I'm using it and I cannot back out, and I'm forced to select a card.
So I absolutely love the card game of this and when I found that there was the mobile version I was a little scared but I bought it and found out that it was just amazing. Wood rate it five stars but it is a little buggy sometimes the monster stats don't pop up until the combat's over. There's been a couple of times where items have just flown all over instead of going where I wanted. But very rare. Overall super fun! Would recommend.
Overall I like the app version of this game a lot. I've only played local against AI so far. I've noticed fewer of the bugs that older reviews are highlighting. The AI enemy players start attacking each other (and you) around level 7 or 8. There are lots of bugs. Dice rolls glitch probably 2/5 times. The rules seem limited/different. Sometimes I'll have to save and exit to see items I steal. The AI goes CRAZY hunting for the Kneepads of Allure. I've done all the intro challenges and enjoyed it.
this game badly needs an 'undo' button for solo games. the ui is complicated and crowded (not surprising in such a varried card game), but there is no way to reverse misclicks, leading to a lot of frustration. Saying "No, I didn't mean to play that I was just reading it" happens, and now you are locked into the play. Otherwise it's fun. Buggy, but enjoyable.
I was very happy to see that this was finally made. I was really annoyed once I started playing and seeing how things that should be random are not. AI always seems to get what it needs to keep up and / or win. One of the things that is fun about these games is randomness, sometimes you. win easy sometimes you lose bad, but seeing how cards drop and dice roll, just prove this is not fair or random. Don't waste your money until the game gets fixed.
I thought it would be awesome to play one of my favorite card games on mobile but after the tutorial screwed me and constantly not allowing my to jump in even when I click the button like it tells me too i feel tho it favored the ai characters to win more lol. Gave me a real vibe where the game creators just wanted to really stick it to me in the beginning. and now wanting 10$ for both expansions when the game is just super basic... cmon... fix the game then ask for money....
It's a fantastic digital version of the table-top game. I have invested so much cash into this game and all the expansions, sets, and accessories, but don't have time or the friends anymore to play like I want. This game is a nice substitute, especially when they add more sets. HOWEVER. I can't give it the rating it Ultimately deserves because of the bugs. I've had more than a handful of match lobbies bug out and become unplayable. I'll update when the bugs are worked out. As of now, 3 1/2⭐️
So far I'm loving the game play, when it works.... There are several times when cards stack such as monster enhancers or special situations like one shot items paired with a fight ending card like "out to lunch" where the game just acts like it's continually loading and freezes up. The card game itself is incredibly done and I wouldn't hesitate to give this five stars if the bugs were ironed out. I certainly hope some expansions are in the works for those of us that are huge fans.
This game is fun. Great rendition of the tabletop game. Very easy to play alone with AI if you have no friends interested in games. Does come with some errors running. Generally I just restart. Can be annoying. Also I wanna buy the expansion pack despite all this but the shop says like insert text here and when I click purchase the game crashes.
Great version of the table top game, however it does have some bugs. It appears to be significantly more buggy on the tablet vs. on a phone. One recent bug me and multiple people have experienced is item cards getting stuck in the middle of the screen. This is primarily a visual glitch but sometimes it removes the card from the inventory. The only solution we have found that works is closing the app and reopening the game. Overall the game is great but I do not recommend playing on a tablet.
I've been waiting for a digital adaptation of munchkin for years and I'm happy to see we finally got one. Overall it's a good first attempt, but there's a lot of misses in the UI design that with a few tweaks could make the game amazing. First off, I don't see a way to view my hand. The overlapping cards hide each other so I can't see what I have. Also your avatar doesn't change based on equipped items/race/class/etc which is very disappointing.
The game is fun but if you plan on playing alone it seems like it doesn't matter what the difficulty is you still really have to fight to get your wins. The more AI controlled NPC's you have the longer the game will take. I think I had 4 NPC's at level 9 with a level 7. I was level 9 and we just fought over trying to hit level 10 for an hour. I gave up and quit.
This implementation is flawed. As others have said its a bit convenient that the AI always has what it needs to screw you over. I bought this to play the game, which I'd only done once before, and find it to be what it wants to be - a unbalanced mess. Not my cup of tea. 2 stars only for the fact that the implementation was done. I like and want more card games to have digital versions...but good quality games would be better.
Average port of the table top game, but ultimately very frustrating to play. Leave this game on the table, it's not meant for phones. The interface isn't particularly clear. Often mistakenly dragged items cannot be put back in hand/carried when trying to discard. The speed in which other players cards are displayed is too fast to read. Bugs make certain cards unplayble despite meeting the requirements.
It's the game all right, but insanely unbalanced - even on "easy AI" setting the other "players" always have the card needed to screw me over, often get both a great card that's class/race restricted and then get exactly that class or race that allows them to use it. My encounter rate with curses is twice that of any AI character I've seen. In almost every game the AI players have great starting hands with power of at least 3, while I often don't get any item or class cards until they're level 4
This game is a buggy mess; a shadow of its former self. Ever since some update a couple of months ago, the "Jump In" timer and online timeout counter have been broken. I've been kicked out numerous times for "inactivity" when I've been actively playing. Often, the "Jump In" button will flash for a fraction of a sec then disappear. I've died too much because of that. It also makes AI turns unfair, as the player doesn't have time to Jump In to affect combat. Other bugs abound. Fix it, Dire Wolf.
