It's so slow. None of my other shopping apps are like this. It just takes forever to load. It has always lagged a bit but it seems to be getting worse. Recently I've also clicked on coupons under an item and it disappears instead of adding. I click on an item and sometimes I end up on a completely different product. Love Kroger but the app needs work. Update... deleted and reinstalled. Everything seems to be loading faster now and I haven't had any bad links. Thank you!
Since the latest update to your software, roughly a week ago, this app has become extremely unstable, shutting down after anywhere from a few seconds to a few minutes. The app is also completely unusable with my screen reader accessibility software, and there are products that my store carries, which the app shows as being completely unavailable, either for pickup, or for delivery.
Goodness I figured by now it would be fixed of all the bugs over the past year. I've created carts that took a while to make only to realize none of the items were actually in the cart and had to start over for it to do it again. Then it freezes up so much especially at checkout. There's so many little and big issues like this. Not the best app.
This app went downhill with the last update. Like others have said it's become really slow loading & although I haven't had the expired coupon problem I have had all my coupons put into one long list instead of being able to sort them into categories. Before I was able to go thru each category separately very quickly. Now it takes forever to scroll through to find the coupons I want to use. With the coupons for things I would never buy like baby & pet stuff, having to wade thru it all is a pain.
Update: The app will run fine, and then things won't work. When looking at the weekly add it doesn't show up. And adding things to the cart won't work half the time. I have to uninstall then reinstall. Then the app will work fine for a while, then will act up again. Update: Uninstalling and reinstalling the app fixed it! Don't know why I didn't think of that before. It's running smooth and loading fast. Thanks so much!
App is so slow. Almost everytime I go to check out in app there are items in my cart but then it keeps saying do you want to start a new order? I click on the cart with several items in it an it pops up empty. Also have problems with clicking digital coupons. I watch my receipt closely so if it fails to capture I go to the service desk.
Needs improvement. It's better than using the website to order but has gotten worse with the last few updates. Search takes too long to load, I usually have to go out of the app and back in and then my search will load. I'm on my way/here button after placing an order should be AT THE TOP OF THE SCREEN when you go back in. You have to scroll around or go to history to find it. And only shows on my way, should be both. Also not longer shows all eligible items when for shop this deal is clicked.
Updates continue to be worse & worse. The slowness & glitching of the app is unbearable! Just adding things to cart , removing, or searching has an extreme delay. It crashes A LOT & constantly signs me out. Also, when trying to make a cart, it will duplicate random items. When trying to delete an item, half the time, the app adds the item back and even more quantities of it. Coupons don't clip 99% of the time either :( Please listen to the reviews on here! This has been going on forever!
Update* i have finally canceled my membership. I have tried several times to get help. I paid for a service that I am not recieving. THE APP DOES NOT REFLECT BOOST. I was told to cancel boost and pay for it again. Talking with kroger chat, it says it's all fine on their end, but they can't help with not being able to use anything boost. They ask if I'm logged into the wrong account. I only have 1 account.
I'm finally giving up on Kroger and the app. I regularly have to contact customer service after shopping trips because of incorrect charges, clipped coupons didn't apply, the correct number of fuel points weren't awarded, or other issues. As many reviewers have noted, the terrible app is the source of most problems. There are many updates, but core usability and coupon/sales remain frustrating. Once I get through the current round of points, I'll be uninstalling and shopping at competitors.
Updated review. There's just too much going on. It is so glitchy. Currently, I can't check out because my cart keeps disappearing. A lot of my current coupons are no longer available when I try to clip them. I've been shopping a lot less at Kroger because I'm not saving money if I can't use the app. Spending an hour trying to save $$$ is silly.
App is getting worse every day. It drops items from your list & adds extras randomly. If you're ordering for pickup, you can double check religiously, but your order still won't be correct, since the app has a mind of its own. Sometimes I end up with, say, 12 pounds of hamburger since it doubled/tripled my order. ON TOP OF THAT it takes approximately 32 seconds for each time you click on something for that item to load. It takes forever to get anything done in the app. I HATE THIS APP SO MUCH.

This is the 3rd time I have installed and reinstalled this app, and on 2 different phones. The same thing always happens: I fill up my cart, set things to " pickup" go to check out, and everything shows up. I doublecheck, I pay, and then when I pick up my stuff, half of it isn't there. I check the app and none of the missing items show up. Terrible app.

Also, the majority of time, it will say an item is out of stock/unavailable, but if we go into the store, it's in stock. Then you complete your order, pick it up, and unload only to realize items that were in your cart were not added. This app is awful!
8/8/25I just did my shopping and wanted to add coupons, but I couldn't even sign in. It kept saying technical difficulties. I even tried to change my password, but it said technical difficulties as well. Half the time when it does work & I'm trying to load coupons, I can't find the coupon, or nothing shows up. Not one coupon. It's irritating I couldn't get my savings bc of technical difficulties. 8/12/25 I just tried to log into my Kroger app and once again I cannot even get into the damn app.
This app used to be so easy to use. The ad was very simple. Click on the picture of the item you wanted and it was added to your list. If it had a digital coupon, that option was displayed and could be clicked on to download the coupon. After an "update", the ad was much harder to use. Then another update made it impossible. I don't even look at the app anymore and now I don't shop at Kroger very often.
UPDATE: (one year to the month my first review). I was having login issues. It appears the app wasn't communicating with the software. Kroger tech advice: I cleared cache, uninstall\reinstalled. Everything worked okay for about a year now I'm back to square one. It really shouldn't be this hard to have an app. I shouldn't have to uninstall and reinstall several times. Kroger you have to get this under control. I don't want a number I can call, I just want you to fix this.
the Kroger app is difficult to navigate. the real issue is with their pricing and coupons, because even with their boost membership many times the coupons do not apply properly or at all. these are items that you have actually selected from the option of available qualified items. the coupon will show in the cart, but will change or drop off completely during the last stage of check out, and you might see a higher price then the previous page, without adding additional items
The Kroger app is less and less stable as time goes on. At this point, I can't look at any order that has received even a partial refund, have any other app open (even my calculator) without it crashing, review my entire basket if it has more than 7 items, reliably add or remove things from my cart, or choose a delivery window. Yeah, when it works it's great, but with all the hassle, I'm starting to think hard about Aldi. Edit: It hasn't gotten better in the last 8 months. :/ Come on y'all.
I appreciate the Kroger app. It is good in a lot of ways, but also has some problems. You have to be letter specific to bring up an item in the search engine or else it says “no results found”. You have to add + to the quantity after you add an item to the cart, not the + box on the far right that you press before”add to cart” or else you can end up with a quantity of 97 yogurts. Also the categories aren’t set up right. Eggs & dairy, meats, beverages, paper products, yes. But some others, not so good. I couldn’t find a wine I drink at all. I couldn’t find spaghetti sauce or lasagna noodles. However, I do like the scan feature you have added, and the memory feature in the search engine. One more thing you have changed that is very inconvenient for me is the coupons. I spent a lot of time going through them, choosing things I may buy before they expire, only to discover those items were in my shopping cart, not loaded onto my Kroger card like they used to be. That’s why they’re coupons, not a shopping list. There’s another place for that, it’s called a shopping list. You messed it up. I had to unload all of them but one. Later when I’m ready to buy the other items that are coupons I will have to add them again. Why would you change that when it worked, to something that doesn’t work now?
This is a really great app, and we are sincerely big fans of it. We honestly do both use it all the time on both of our iPads and both of our iPhones to order our groceries for pick-up at our local Kroger store. And we also love the ability to hand the order off to each other back and forth seamlessly as we are creating it. The app obviously had a whole lot of serious thought put into it, and because of its many insightful features, it is very helpful, and very easy to use. THERE IS HOWEVER, ONE SERIOUS FLAW that really does need to be fixed ASAP, because it is a source of CONSTANT AGGRAVATION when we are creating our grocery lists AND our store pick-up lists! On an iPad (or an iPhone), the flaw is this: When you use your finger to “thumb through” your list (and ours are always very long lists) so you can scan through them and see what you do and do not already have on your list, IT IS WAY TOO EASY TO “ACCIDENTALLY DELETE” A GROCERY ITEM! And, as if that is not bad enough, when you do “accidentally delete” an item, there is NOT a convenient way to figure out what it was that you just accidentally deleted! This becomes a ridiculous “time-waster”, and our lives are way too busy for this. It actually detracts from some of the great convenience of having the app in the first place! Thank you for your kind consideration of this problem!
Edit 10/13: fast response from the developer. List crashes and scrolling were fixed for me in today's update. Thank you. Original review 10/12: The lists function stopped working in the last update. It's been wonky for awhile, scrolling up every time I checked an item causing me to lose my place in the list. Now it crashes when I try to open it. I tried clearing the cache and uninstall/reinstall to no effect. This is my most used feature so most disappointing.
The only problem is the app lacks a tracking feature or, notifications to expect a delivery, at a particular time. Last delivery scheduled for 9am to 10am, early. I had to stop and put the current task, on hold. That was an unfortunate inconvenience. Other than this, it is better than Walmart's grocery delivery, that won't say in advance, that it can't fulfill an order, in the selected time frame. Walmart's MO is to notify of the delay, that it will be delivered within the next 48 hours. What?
So annoying to navigate this app! I wish the products in the coupon section were clearly labeled on the first screen, instead of having to click to the next screen for details each time then back to the list screen. It's tedious & time consuming to click through all the coupons. There has to be a better way!
Scan of the barcode seems to work most of the time. But when there are specials on the shelf for an item that requires a digital coupon for special price, scanning the QR code presented for obtaining that coupon fails. With a message such as we are experiencing technical difficulties. This is a constant problem, for months. I do not recall ever having a successful scan of the Qr and having the coupon applied to my card/account. I always have to have a cashier correct for this.
I love Kroger! Their prices remain consistently reasonable and they offer the best sales. Their stores are alway clean, organized, and have friendly helpful staff. Last but not least they offer a wider selection of grocery options and brand name variety than any other store I’ve seen. However, even with all that, I still dreaded my weekly shopping trips. Having to zig zag through the store trying to locate my items was a huge stressor for me. Always very time consuming. Id then have to spend even more time comparing prices and trying to decide which brands were the best deals for my tight budget. All the while praying I didn't somehow go over in the end. I can be so indecisive at times, and the entire process usually just leaves me frustrated and hating that god forsaken chore even more. Now with this app I can shop for my groceries and other household necessities from the comfort of my own home, and in a fraction of the time it takes me to shop in store. The have the picked, bagged, and ready for pick up exactly when my schedule allows. Also comparing prices is so easy, they literally do it for you and suggest cheaper options. Best part is I can check my running total in a matter of seconds, and adjust my cart accordingly to fit my budget. I can’t say enough good things about their very smooth and extremely user friendly app. It’s been a life save for real.
I prefer our Kroger location over Walmart. However, this app is terrible compared to Walmart's app. I have not yet figured out, assuming it's an option, how to modify my pick up order. I can't even cancel my order, using the app, even though I can see the button to cancel my order (does not work). An app is great when it's intuitive, functional and executed with ease. This app is none of the above. I'll be going back to Walmart for my next order.
Awesome! A little difficult with the fruits and veggies. But!! Once you realize that 1(one) banana is not the bunch of bananas, and 1 vine ripe tomato is not the-bunch of vine ripe tomatoes pictured...then it gets easier. You must select the number of bananas that you want... in the notes you can say keep in a 4 bunch medium size, small to medium length, or long length bananas etc. Green or ripe, etc...otherwise, with the counting of the bananas ... you will only receive 1 (one) banana. This has been an awesome experience!! The staff have been attentive, personal and in it for the long haul of the virus and then some!! I’ve been very pleased. Substitution have been acceptable, and have been discussed upon the delivery. Kroger should be commended for their overall outstanding rising to the occasion of COVID-19!! This is the safest way for everyone!! It also helps to keep their workplace( grocery store a safer place for the staff!! Business can continue as usual with the exception that the general public needs to be accommodating as well!! By picking up your groceries... minimizes the contact of the general public - keeping an extremely safe distance to not allow the virus to spread. Nothing wrong with that!! No One ever really wants to become ill from any type of virus or flu!! Thank you again Kroger Teams!!
AN HONEST REVIEW I ordered delivery which was amazingly fast! Using Walmart’s grocery pickup doesn’t have half the personalization/ communication/ and friendliness. For delivery they keep you up to date each step of the way and if they have to substitute an item they text you and ask what you would like instead in pretty plain as day detail! I have a condition that makes grocery shopping difficult and being the only place that does grocery delivery I’m exceedingly glad that it was such a great experience. The delivery fee is not that bad I live in the country so them getting me my groceries in a matter of a couple hours was astonishing after ordering. It was less than 2 hours from start to finish and the costs on many items were better. (Some not so much but that’s expected when you change to a new store) the convenience alone is well worth the difference which I have to say isn’t very much. Thank you Kroger’s for the excellent service you provide it’s more than appreciated while I am trying to recover from my mental health issues. I’ll be looking forward to using this app and service again! I recommend this to anyone looking for such a service. 5 stars, 10/10 service, America looks better with the ability to order burritos and have them delivered to your door lol!

8/8/25I just did my shopping and wanted to add coupons, but I couldn't even sign in. It kept saying technical difficulties. I even tried to change my password, but it said technical difficulties as well. Half the time when it does work & I'm trying to load coupons, I can't find the coupon, or nothing shows up. Not one coupon. It's irritating I couldn't get my savings bc of technical difficulties. 8/12/25 I just tried to log into my Kroger app and once again I cannot even get into the damn app.
This app used to be so easy to use. The ad was very simple. Click on the picture of the item you wanted and it was added to your list. If it had a digital coupon, that option was displayed and could be clicked on to download the coupon. After an "update", the ad was much harder to use. Then another update made it impossible. I don't even look at the app anymore and now I don't shop at Kroger very often.
UPDATE: (one year to the month my first review). I was having login issues. It appears the app wasn't communicating with the software. Kroger tech advice: I cleared cache, uninstall\reinstalled. Everything worked okay for about a year now I'm back to square one. It really shouldn't be this hard to have an app. I shouldn't have to uninstall and reinstall several times. Kroger you have to get this under control. I don't want a number I can call, I just want you to fix this.
the Kroger app is difficult to navigate. the real issue is with their pricing and coupons, because even with their boost membership many times the coupons do not apply properly or at all. these are items that you have actually selected from the option of available qualified items. the coupon will show in the cart, but will change or drop off completely during the last stage of check out, and you might see a higher price then the previous page, without adding additional items
The Kroger app is less and less stable as time goes on. At this point, I can't look at any order that has received even a partial refund, have any other app open (even my calculator) without it crashing, review my entire basket if it has more than 7 items, reliably add or remove things from my cart, or choose a delivery window. Yeah, when it works it's great, but with all the hassle, I'm starting to think hard about Aldi. Edit: It hasn't gotten better in the last 8 months. :/ Come on y'all.
I prefer our Kroger location over Walmart. However, this app is terrible compared to Walmart's app. I have not yet figured out, assuming it's an option, how to modify my pick up order. I can't even cancel my order, using the app, even though I can see the button to cancel my order (does not work). An app is great when it's intuitive, functional and executed with ease. This app is none of the above. I'll be going back to Walmart for my next order.
I love Kroger! Their prices remain consistently reasonable and they offer the best sales. Their stores are alway clean, organized, and have friendly helpful staff. Last but not least they offer a wider selection of grocery options and brand name variety than any other store I’ve seen. However, even with all that, I still dreaded my weekly shopping trips. Having to zig zag through the store trying to locate my items was a huge stressor for me. Always very time consuming. Id then have to spend even more time comparing prices and trying to decide which brands were the best deals for my tight budget. All the while praying I didn't somehow go over in the end. I can be so indecisive at times, and the entire process usually just leaves me frustrated and hating that god forsaken chore even more. Now with this app I can shop for my groceries and other household necessities from the comfort of my own home, and in a fraction of the time it takes me to shop in store. The have the picked, bagged, and ready for pick up exactly when my schedule allows. Also comparing prices is so easy, they literally do it for you and suggest cheaper options. Best part is I can check my running total in a matter of seconds, and adjust my cart accordingly to fit my budget. I can’t say enough good things about their very smooth and extremely user friendly app. It’s been a life save for real.
Since the latest update to your software, roughly a week ago, this app has become extremely unstable, shutting down after anywhere from a few seconds to a few minutes. The app is also completely unusable with my screen reader accessibility software, and there are products that my store carries, which the app shows as being completely unavailable, either for pickup, or for delivery.
Goodness I figured by now it would be fixed of all the bugs over the past year. I've created carts that took a while to make only to realize none of the items were actually in the cart and had to start over for it to do it again. Then it freezes up so much especially at checkout. There's so many little and big issues like this. Not the best app.
This app went downhill with the last update. Like others have said it's become really slow loading & although I haven't had the expired coupon problem I have had all my coupons put into one long list instead of being able to sort them into categories. Before I was able to go thru each category separately very quickly. Now it takes forever to scroll through to find the coupons I want to use. With the coupons for things I would never buy like baby & pet stuff, having to wade thru it all is a pain.
Update: The app will run fine, and then things won't work. When looking at the weekly add it doesn't show up. And adding things to the cart won't work half the time. I have to uninstall then reinstall. Then the app will work fine for a while, then will act up again. Update: Uninstalling and reinstalling the app fixed it! Don't know why I didn't think of that before. It's running smooth and loading fast. Thanks so much!
App is so slow. Almost everytime I go to check out in app there are items in my cart but then it keeps saying do you want to start a new order? I click on the cart with several items in it an it pops up empty. Also have problems with clicking digital coupons. I watch my receipt closely so if it fails to capture I go to the service desk.
Needs improvement. It's better than using the website to order but has gotten worse with the last few updates. Search takes too long to load, I usually have to go out of the app and back in and then my search will load. I'm on my way/here button after placing an order should be AT THE TOP OF THE SCREEN when you go back in. You have to scroll around or go to history to find it. And only shows on my way, should be both. Also not longer shows all eligible items when for shop this deal is clicked.
Updates continue to be worse & worse. The slowness & glitching of the app is unbearable! Just adding things to cart , removing, or searching has an extreme delay. It crashes A LOT & constantly signs me out. Also, when trying to make a cart, it will duplicate random items. When trying to delete an item, half the time, the app adds the item back and even more quantities of it. Coupons don't clip 99% of the time either :( Please listen to the reviews on here! This has been going on forever!
Update* i have finally canceled my membership. I have tried several times to get help. I paid for a service that I am not recieving. THE APP DOES NOT REFLECT BOOST. I was told to cancel boost and pay for it again. Talking with kroger chat, it says it's all fine on their end, but they can't help with not being able to use anything boost. They ask if I'm logged into the wrong account. I only have 1 account.
I'm finally giving up on Kroger and the app. I regularly have to contact customer service after shopping trips because of incorrect charges, clipped coupons didn't apply, the correct number of fuel points weren't awarded, or other issues. As many reviewers have noted, the terrible app is the source of most problems. There are many updates, but core usability and coupon/sales remain frustrating. Once I get through the current round of points, I'll be uninstalling and shopping at competitors.

A lot of my current coupons are no longer available when I try to clip them. I've been shopping a lot less at Kroger because I'm not saving money if I can't use the app. Spending an hour trying to save $$$ is silly.

If you're ordering for pickup, you can double check religiously, but your order still won't be correct, since the app has a mind of its own. Sometimes I end up with, say, 12 pounds of hamburger since it doubled/tripled my order. ON TOP OF THAT it takes approximately 32 seconds for each time you click on something for that item to load. It takes forever to get anything done in the app. I HATE THIS APP SO MUCH.

Awesome! A little difficult with the fruits and veggies. But!! Once you realize that 1(one) banana is not the bunch of bananas, and 1 vine ripe tomato is not the-bunch of vine ripe tomatoes pictured...then it gets easier. You must select the number of bananas that you want... in the notes you can say keep in a 4 bunch medium size, small to medium length, or long length bananas etc. Green or ripe, etc...otherwise, with the counting of the bananas ... you will only receive 1 (one) banana. This has been an awesome experience!! The staff have been attentive, personal and in it for the long haul of the virus and then some!! I’ve been very pleased. Substitution have been acceptable, and have been discussed upon the delivery. Kroger should be commended for their overall outstanding rising to the occasion of COVID-19!! This is the safest way for everyone!! It also helps to keep their workplace( grocery store a safer place for the staff!! Business can continue as usual with the exception that the general public needs to be accommodating as well!! By picking up your groceries... minimizes the contact of the general public - keeping an extremely safe distance to not allow the virus to spread. Nothing wrong with that!! No One ever really wants to become ill from any type of virus or flu!! Thank you again Kroger Teams!!
AN HONEST REVIEW I ordered delivery which was amazingly fast! Using Walmart’s grocery pickup doesn’t have half the personalization/ communication/ and friendliness. For delivery they keep you up to date each step of the way and if they have to substitute an item they text you and ask what you would like instead in pretty plain as day detail! I have a condition that makes grocery shopping difficult and being the only place that does grocery delivery I’m exceedingly glad that it was such a great experience. The delivery fee is not that bad I live in the country so them getting me my groceries in a matter of a couple hours was astonishing after ordering. It was less than 2 hours from start to finish and the costs on many items were better. (Some not so much but that’s expected when you change to a new store) the convenience alone is well worth the difference which I have to say isn’t very much. Thank you Kroger’s for the excellent service you provide it’s more than appreciated while I am trying to recover from my mental health issues. I’ll be looking forward to using this app and service again! I recommend this to anyone looking for such a service. 5 stars, 10/10 service, America looks better with the ability to order burritos and have them delivered to your door lol!
I appreciate the Kroger app. It is good in a lot of ways, but also has some problems. You have to be letter specific to bring up an item in the search engine or else it says “no results found”. You have to add + to the quantity after you add an item to the cart, not the + box on the far right that you press before”add to cart” or else you can end up with a quantity of 97 yogurts. Also the categories aren’t set up right. Eggs & dairy, meats, beverages, paper products, yes. But some others, not so good. I couldn’t find a wine I drink at all. I couldn’t find spaghetti sauce or lasagna noodles. However, I do like the scan feature you have added, and the memory feature in the search engine. One more thing you have changed that is very inconvenient for me is the coupons. I spent a lot of time going through them, choosing things I may buy before they expire, only to discover those items were in my shopping cart, not loaded onto my Kroger card like they used to be. That’s why they’re coupons, not a shopping list. There’s another place for that, it’s called a shopping list. You messed it up. I had to unload all of them but one. Later when I’m ready to buy the other items that are coupons I will have to add them again. Why would you change that when it worked, to something that doesn’t work now?

We honestly do both use it all the time on both of our iPads and both of our iPhones to order our groceries for pick-up at our local Kroger store. And we also love the ability to hand the order off to each other back and forth seamlessly as we are creating it. The app obviously had a whole lot of serious thought put into it, and because of its many insightful features, it is very helpful, and very easy to use. THERE IS HOWEVER, ONE SERIOUS FLAW that really does need to be fixed ASAP, because it is a source of CONSTANT AGGRAVATION when we are creating our grocery lists AND our store pick-up lists! On an iPad (or an iPhone), the flaw is this: When you use your finger to “thumb through” your list (and ours are always very long lists) so you can scan through them and see what you do and do not already have on your list, IT IS WAY TOO EASY TO “ACCIDENTALLY DELETE” A GROCERY ITEM! And, as if that is not bad enough, when you do “accidentally delete” an item, there is NOT a convenient way to figure out what it was that you just accidentally deleted! This becomes a ridiculous “time-waster”, and our lives are way too busy for this. It actually detracts from some of the great convenience of having the app in the first place! Thank you for your kind consideration of this problem!

The only problem is the app lacks a tracking feature or, notifications to expect a delivery, at a particular time. Last delivery scheduled for 9am to 10am, early. I had to stop and put the current task, on hold. That was an unfortunate inconvenience. Other than this, it is better than Walmart's grocery delivery, that won't say in advance, that it can't fulfill an order, in the selected time frame. Walmart's MO is to notify of the delay, that it will be delivered within the next 48 hours. What?
So annoying to navigate this app! I wish the products in the coupon section were clearly labeled on the first screen, instead of having to click to the next screen for details each time then back to the list screen. It's tedious & time consuming to click through all the coupons. There has to be a better way!
Scan of the barcode seems to work most of the time. But when there are specials on the shelf for an item that requires a digital coupon for special price, scanning the QR code presented for obtaining that coupon fails. With a message such as we are experiencing technical difficulties. This is a constant problem, for months. I do not recall ever having a successful scan of the Qr and having the coupon applied to my card/account. I always have to have a cashier correct for this.
Edit 10/13: fast response from the developer. List crashes and scrolling were fixed for me in today's update. Thank you. Original review 10/12: The lists function stopped working in the last update. It's been wonky for awhile, scrolling up every time I checked an item causing me to lose my place in the list. Now it crashes when I try to open it. I tried clearing the cache and uninstall/reinstall to no effect. This is my most used feature so most disappointing.

Walmart's MO is to notify of the delay, that it will be delivered within the next 48 hours. What?

I wish the products in the coupon section were clearly labeled on the first screen, instead of having to click to the next screen for details each time then back to the list screen. It's tedious & time consuming to click through all the coupons. There has to be a better way!
Scan of the barcode seems to work most of the time. But when there are specials on the shelf for an item that requires a digital coupon for special price, scanning the QR code presented for obtaining that coupon fails. With a message such as we are experiencing technical difficulties. This is a constant problem, for months. I do not recall ever having a successful scan of the Qr and having the coupon applied to my card/account. I always have to have a cashier correct for this.
I love Kroger! Their prices remain consistently reasonable and they offer the best sales. Their stores are alway clean, organized, and have friendly helpful staff. Last but not least they offer a wider selection of grocery options and brand name variety than any other store I’ve seen. However, even with all that, I still dreaded my weekly shopping trips. Having to zig zag through the store trying to locate my items was a huge stressor for me. Always very time consuming. Id then have to spend even more time comparing prices and trying to decide which brands were the best deals for my tight budget. All the while praying I didn't somehow go over in the end. I can be so indecisive at times, and the entire process usually just leaves me frustrated and hating that god forsaken chore even more. Now with this app I can shop for my groceries and other household necessities from the comfort of my own home, and in a fraction of the time it takes me to shop in store. The have the picked, bagged, and ready for pick up exactly when my schedule allows. Also comparing prices is so easy, they literally do it for you and suggest cheaper options. Best part is I can check my running total in a matter of seconds, and adjust my cart accordingly to fit my budget. I can’t say enough good things about their very smooth and extremely user friendly app. It’s been a life save for real.
I prefer our Kroger location over Walmart. However, this app is terrible compared to Walmart's app. I have not yet figured out, assuming it's an option, how to modify my pick up order. I can't even cancel my order, using the app, even though I can see the button to cancel my order (does not work). An app is great when it's intuitive, functional and executed with ease. This app is none of the above. I'll be going back to Walmart for my next order.

Once you realize that 1(one) banana is not the bunch of bananas, and 1 vine ripe tomato is not the-bunch of vine ripe tomatoes pictured...then it gets easier. You must select the number of bananas that you want... in the notes you can say keep in a 4 bunch medium size, small to medium length, or long length bananas etc. Green or ripe, etc...otherwise, with the counting of the bananas ... you will only receive 1 (one) banana. This has been an awesome experience!! The staff have been attentive, personal and in it for the long haul of the virus and then some!! I’ve been very pleased. Substitution have been acceptable, and have been discussed upon the delivery. Kroger should be commended for their overall outstanding rising to the occasion of COVID-19!! This is the safest way for everyone!! It also helps to keep their workplace( grocery store a safer place for the staff!! Business can continue as usual with the exception that the general public needs to be accommodating as well!! By picking up your groceries... minimizes the contact of the general public - keeping an extremely safe distance to not allow the virus to spread. Nothing wrong with that!! No One ever really wants to become ill from any type of virus or flu!! Thank you again Kroger Teams!!
AN HONEST REVIEW I ordered delivery which was amazingly fast! Using Walmart’s grocery pickup doesn’t have half the personalization/ communication/ and friendliness. For delivery they keep you up to date each step of the way and if they have to substitute an item they text you and ask what you would like instead in pretty plain as day detail! I have a condition that makes grocery shopping difficult and being the only place that does grocery delivery I’m exceedingly glad that it was such a great experience. The delivery fee is not that bad I live in the country so them getting me my groceries in a matter of a couple hours was astonishing after ordering. It was less than 2 hours from start to finish and the costs on many items were better. (Some not so much but that’s expected when you change to a new store) the convenience alone is well worth the difference which I have to say isn’t very much. Thank you Kroger’s for the excellent service you provide it’s more than appreciated while I am trying to recover from my mental health issues. I’ll be looking forward to using this app and service again! I recommend this to anyone looking for such a service. 5 stars, 10/10 service, America looks better with the ability to order burritos and have them delivered to your door lol!
Update: The app will run fine, and then things won't work. When looking at the weekly add it doesn't show up. And adding things to the cart won't work half the time. I have to uninstall then reinstall. Then the app will work fine for a while, then will act up again. Update: Uninstalling and reinstalling the app fixed it! Don't know why I didn't think of that before. It's running smooth and loading fast. Thanks so much!
It's so slow. None of my other shopping apps are like this. It just takes forever to load. It has always lagged a bit but it seems to be getting worse. Recently I've also clicked on coupons under an item and it disappears instead of adding. I click on an item and sometimes I end up on a completely different product. Love Kroger but the app needs work. Update... deleted and reinstalled. Everything seems to be loading faster now and I haven't had any bad links. Thank you!

I appreciate the Kroger app. It is good in a lot of ways, but also has some problems. You have to be letter specific to bring up an item in the search engine or else it says “no results found”. You have to add + to the quantity after you add an item to the cart, not the + box on the far right that you press before”add to cart” or else you can end up with a quantity of 97 yogurts. Also the categories aren’t set up right. Eggs & dairy, meats, beverages, paper products, yes. But some others, not so good. I couldn’t find a wine I drink at all. I couldn’t find spaghetti sauce or lasagna noodles. However, I do like the scan feature you have added, and the memory feature in the search engine. One more thing you have changed that is very inconvenient for me is the coupons. I spent a lot of time going through them, choosing things I may buy before they expire, only to discover those items were in my shopping cart, not loaded onto my Kroger card like they used to be. That’s why they’re coupons, not a shopping list. There’s another place for that, it’s called a shopping list. You messed it up. I had to unload all of them but one. Later when I’m ready to buy the other items that are coupons I will have to add them again. Why would you change that when it worked, to something that doesn’t work now?
This is a really great app, and we are sincerely big fans of it. We honestly do both use it all the time on both of our iPads and both of our iPhones to order our groceries for pick-up at our local Kroger store. And we also love the ability to hand the order off to each other back and forth seamlessly as we are creating it. The app obviously had a whole lot of serious thought put into it, and because of its many insightful features, it is very helpful, and very easy to use. THERE IS HOWEVER, ONE SERIOUS FLAW that really does need to be fixed ASAP, because it is a source of CONSTANT AGGRAVATION when we are creating our grocery lists AND our store pick-up lists! On an iPad (or an iPhone), the flaw is this: When you use your finger to “thumb through” your list (and ours are always very long lists) so you can scan through them and see what you do and do not already have on your list, IT IS WAY TOO EASY TO “ACCIDENTALLY DELETE” A GROCERY ITEM! And, as if that is not bad enough, when you do “accidentally delete” an item, there is NOT a convenient way to figure out what it was that you just accidentally deleted! This becomes a ridiculous “time-waster”, and our lives are way too busy for this. It actually detracts from some of the great convenience of having the app in the first place! Thank you for your kind consideration of this problem!

Edit 10/13: fast response from the developer. List crashes and scrolling were fixed for me in today's update. Thank you. Original review 10/12: The lists function stopped working in the last update. It's been wonky for awhile, scrolling up every time I checked an item causing me to lose my place in the list. Now it crashes when I try to open it. I tried clearing the cache and uninstall/reinstall to no effect. This is my most used feature so most disappointing.
Since the latest update to your software, roughly a week ago, this app has become extremely unstable, shutting down after anywhere from a few seconds to a few minutes. The app is also completely unusable with my screen reader accessibility software, and there are products that my store carries, which the app shows as being completely unavailable, either for pickup, or for delivery.
This app went downhill with the last update. Like others have said it's become really slow loading & although I haven't had the expired coupon problem I have had all my coupons put into one long list instead of being able to sort them into categories. Before I was able to go thru each category separately very quickly. Now it takes forever to scroll through to find the coupons I want to use. With the coupons for things I would never buy like baby & pet stuff, having to wade thru it all is a pain.
App is so slow. Almost everytime I go to check out in app there are items in my cart but then it keeps saying do you want to start a new order? I click on the cart with several items in it an it pops up empty. Also have problems with clicking digital coupons. I watch my receipt closely so if it fails to capture I go to the service desk.
I'm finally giving up on Kroger and the app. I regularly have to contact customer service after shopping trips because of incorrect charges, clipped coupons didn't apply, the correct number of fuel points weren't awarded, or other issues. Update* i have finally canceled my membership. I have tried several times to get help. I paid for a service that I am not recieving. THE APP DOES NOT REFLECT BOOST. I was told to cancel boost and pay for it again. Talking with kroger chat, it says it's all fine on their end, but they can't help with not being able to use anything boost. They ask if I'm logged into the wrong account. I only have 1 account.

If you're ordering for pickup, you can double check religiously, but your order still won't be correct, since the app has a mind of its own. Sometimes I end up with, say, 12 pounds of hamburger since it doubled/tripled my order. ON TOP OF THAT it takes approximately 32 seconds for each time you click on something for that item to load. It takes forever to get anything done in the app. I HATE THIS APP SO MUCH.

8/8/25I just did my shopping and wanted to add coupons, but I couldn't even sign in. It kept saying technical difficulties. I even tried to change my password, but it said technical difficulties as well. Half the time when it does work & I'm trying to load coupons, I can't find the coupon, or nothing shows up. Not one coupon. It's irritating I couldn't get my savings bc of technical difficulties. 8/12/25 I just tried to log into my Kroger app and once again I cannot even get into the damn app.

If it had a digital coupon, that option was displayed and could be clicked on to download the coupon. After an "update", the ad was much harder to use. Then another update made it impossible. Everything worked okay for about a year now I'm back to square one. It really shouldn't be this hard to have an app. I shouldn't have to uninstall and reinstall several times. Kroger you have to get this under control. I don't want a number I can call, I just want you to fix this.
the Kroger app is difficult to navigate. the real issue is with their pricing and coupons, because even with their boost membership many times the coupons do not apply properly or at all. these are items that you have actually selected from the option of available qualified items. the coupon will show in the cart, but will change or drop off completely during the last stage of check out, and you might see a higher price then the previous page, without adding additional items
The Kroger app is less and less stable as time goes on. At this point, I can't look at any order that has received even a partial refund, have any other app open (even my calculator) without it crashing, review my entire basket if it has more than 7 items, reliably add or remove things from my cart, or choose a delivery window. the Kroger app is difficult to navigate. the real issue is with their pricing and coupons, because even with their boost membership many times the coupons do not apply properly or at all. these are items that you have actually selected from the option of available qualified items. the coupon will show in the cart, but will change or drop off completely during the last stage of check out, and you might see a higher price then the previous page, without adding additional items
The Kroger app is less and less stable as time goes on. At this point, I can't look at any order that has received even a partial refund, have any other app open (even my calculator) without it crashing, review my entire basket if it has more than 7 items, reliably add or remove things from my cart, or choose a delivery window. Yeah, when it works it's great, but with all the hassle, I'm starting to think hard about Aldi. Edit: It hasn't gotten better in the last 8 months. :/ Come on y'all.
Awesome! A little difficult with the fruits and veggies. But!! Once you realize that 1(one) banana is not the bunch of bananas, and 1 vine ripe tomato is not the-bunch of vine ripe tomatoes pictured...then it gets easier. You must select the number of bananas that you want... in the notes you can say keep in a 4 bunch medium size, small to medium length, or long length bananas etc. Green or ripe, etc...otherwise, with the counting of the bananas ... you will only receive 1 (one) banana. This has been an awesome experience!! The staff have been attentive, personal and in it for the long haul of the virus and then some!! I’ve been very pleased. Substitution have been acceptable, and have been discussed upon the delivery. Kroger should be commended for their overall outstanding rising to the occasion of COVID-19!! This is the safest way for everyone!! It also helps to keep their workplace( grocery store a safer place for the staff!! Business can continue as usual with the exception that the general public needs to be accommodating as well!! By picking up your groceries... minimizes the contact of the general public - keeping an extremely safe distance to not allow the virus to spread. Nothing wrong with that!! No One ever really wants to become ill from any type of virus or flu!! Thank you again Kroger Teams!!
AN HONEST REVIEW I ordered delivery which was amazingly fast! Using Walmart’s grocery pickup doesn’t have half the personalization/ communication/ and friendliness. For delivery they keep you up to date each step of the way and if they have to substitute an item they text you and ask what you would like instead in pretty plain as day detail! I have a condition that makes grocery shopping difficult and being the only place that does grocery delivery I’m exceedingly glad that it was such a great experience. The delivery fee is not that bad I live in the country so them getting me my groceries in a matter of a couple hours was astonishing after ordering. It was less than 2 hours from start to finish and the costs on many items were better. (Some not so much but that’s expected when you change to a new store) the convenience alone is well worth the difference which I have to say isn’t very much. Thank you Kroger’s for the excellent service you provide it’s more than appreciated while I am trying to recover from my mental health issues. I’ll be looking forward to using this app and service again! I recommend this to anyone looking for such a service. 5 stars, 10/10 service, America looks better with the ability to order burritos and have them delivered to your door lol!
I appreciate the Kroger app. It is good in a lot of ways, but also has some problems. You have to be letter specific to bring up an item in the search engine or else it says “no results found”. You have to add + to the quantity after you add an item to the cart, not the + box on the far right that you press before”add to cart” or else you can end up with a quantity of 97 yogurts. Also the categories aren’t set up right. Eggs & dairy, meats, beverages, paper products, yes. But some others, not so good. I couldn’t find a wine I drink at all. I couldn’t find spaghetti sauce or lasagna noodles. However, I do like the scan feature you have added, and the memory feature in the search engine. One more thing you have changed that is very inconvenient for me is the coupons. I spent a lot of time going through them, choosing things I may buy before they expire, only to discover those items were in my shopping cart, not loaded onto my Kroger card like they used to be. That’s why they’re coupons, not a shopping list. There’s another place for that, it’s called a shopping list. You messed it up. I had to unload all of them but one. Later when I’m ready to buy the other items that are coupons I will have to add them again. Why would you change that when it worked, to something that doesn’t work now?
This is a really great app, and we are sincerely big fans of it. We honestly do both use it all the time on both of our iPads and both of our iPhones to order our groceries for pick-up at our local Kroger store. And we also love the ability to hand the order off to each other back and forth seamlessly as we are creating it. The app obviously had a whole lot of serious thought put into it, and because of its many insightful features, it is very helpful, and very easy to use. THERE IS HOWEVER, ONE SERIOUS FLAW that really does need to be fixed ASAP, because it is a source of CONSTANT AGGRAVATION when we are creating our grocery lists AND our store pick-up lists! On an iPad (or an iPhone), the flaw is this: When you use your finger to “thumb through” your list (and ours are always very long lists) so you can scan through them and see what you do and do not already have on your list, IT IS WAY TOO EASY TO “ACCIDENTALLY DELETE” A GROCERY ITEM! And, as if that is not bad enough, when you do “accidentally delete” an item, there is NOT a convenient way to figure out what it was that you just accidentally deleted! This becomes a ridiculous “time-waster”, and our lives are way too busy for this. It actually detracts from some of the great convenience of having the app in the first place! Thank you for your kind consideration of this problem!
I prefer our Kroger location over Walmart. However, this app is terrible compared to Walmart's app. I have not yet figured out, assuming it's an option, how to modify my pick up order. I can't even cancel my order, using the app, even though I can see the button to cancel my order (does not work). An app is great when it's intuitive, functional and executed with ease. This app is none of the above. I'll be going back to Walmart for my next order.
The only problem is the app lacks a tracking feature or, notifications to expect a delivery, at a particular time. Last delivery scheduled for 9am to 10am, early. I had to stop and put the current task, on hold. That was an unfortunate inconvenience. Other than this, it is better than Walmart's grocery delivery, that won't say in advance, that it can't fulfill an order, in the selected time frame. Walmart's MO is to notify of the delay, that it will be delivered within the next 48 hours. What?
So annoying to navigate this app! I wish the products in the coupon section were clearly labeled on the first screen, instead of having to click to the next screen for details each time then back to the list screen. It's tedious & time consuming to click through all the coupons. There has to be a better way!
Scan of the barcode seems to work most of the time. But when there are specials on the shelf for an item that requires a digital coupon for special price, scanning the QR code presented for obtaining that coupon fails. With a message such as we are experiencing technical difficulties. This is a constant problem, for months. I do not recall ever having a successful scan of the Qr and having the coupon applied to my card/account. I always have to have a cashier correct for this.
Edit 10/13: fast response from the developer. List crashes and scrolling were fixed for me in today's update. Thank you. Original review 10/12: The lists function stopped working in the last update. It's been wonky for awhile, scrolling up every time I checked an item causing me to lose my place in the list. Now it crashes when I try to open it. I tried clearing the cache and uninstall/reinstall to no effect. This is my most used feature so most disappointing.
