This app used to work on my Huawei android and it was great. However, after several recent JL updates, it sadly has ceased to. 'This app is no longer compatible with your device....' Don't know what happened, l certainly wasn't in the team writing the software update. Btw Waitrose app works perfectly post updates so what's the issue JL?
v user friendly app. Love having receipts to hand, but, a further improvement would be if one could search for receipts for items by name as in when one is buying rather than scrolling through receipts of roughly the time one bought the item(s) eg search receipts for pans or scissors or perhaps, if that were too specific, search for the relevant department purchases? Sorry if this comes over as a complaint. It absolutely isn't. This app is wonderful and I use it regularly. indeed, most days!
Whenever you try to browse items, the constant pop-ups of "18 people have bought this in the last 24 hours" or whatever RIGHT in the middle of the screen and in front of the thing you want to look at, that has to be cleared away before you can actually get an unobstructed view of the item, is incredibly irritating. On the website I have to block scripts because it has the same problem but there is no way to do this in the JL app. This is why I usually end up giving up and shopping elsewhere.
Only used for purchase for first time just now. Time will tell. Nothing much offered by way of "rewards" - perhaps these are focused on conspicuous consumers?
Easy ordering and free collection from a nearby point or home delivery. Multiple payment options and a failsafe price match. Be daft to go elsewhere!
I used to have this app and now I am being told it is no longer compatible with my samsung s8. As a local customer, this is so frustrating.
Poor UX. When you scroll up and down after choosing a filter, the filter randomly reappears making it really erratic.
Every single time I open this App it has to be updated. Ridiculous Again yet more updates and please don't say "thank you for your review. we're glad the app is working for you" Read the comment it bloody isn't!
Brilliant app. Shopping made mockingly simple. Easy to navigate. I've made a purchase within 10 mins. That includes opening my banking app.
i just love John Lewis, I've never had a poor experience shopping in store or online. Super staff and customer service besides a great diverse product range.
App is OK but I'm ditching it - along with others that don't have biometric login - because anyone snatching your phone while unlocked can access personal details such as name, address, email and phone number. Not good thing. The only alternative is to log out after every use but, since - as we're always urged - I use a long & complex password, entering that every time on a mobile device is hardly practical.
Crashing all the time - just saying "something went wrong, try again" regularly when browsing. Very annoying.
Please update your app icon to Android themed icons on a pixel.....the Rewards section is always confusing as the notification dot is always present despite tapping on the offer to clear it and even when the offer is irrelevant and not particularly wanted.Have better syncing between what you have viewed on one device and another and it's very inconsistent. Also why no biometric login? sensitive information available if the device is stolen
keeps coming up with errors. it's getting frustrating 'something went wrong. please try again' no matter how many times I restart the app
Aug 14/2025 I find it very easy to use for finding items, shopping, checking orders, making wishlists, and viewing rewards.
Great app, easy navigation to what you're looking for, very simple instructions to purchase items on line and pay for what you purchase without any fuss.
Straightforward, easy to use app with very useful functions such as the option to check your previous orders, save items for later, and a money off section which automatically applies vouchers for qualifying purchases, etc.
Really good app. I love that I can create different wish lists, so one for the home, one for clothes etc. Absolutely everything can be done through the app and that includes applying for credit for big ticket items. Fast and easy to use, highly recommend
Simple and easy to use, with intuitive headings! I used to use the web version all the time, but the quick access to my basket and 'saved later' is a godsendddd! No need to wait for page loading times! And restock alerts are great too - notifying me both via email and app push notifications 😁
Generally a good app. Sometimes it's a bit strange when stock is low, it will not reserve an item just in case it's just been sold, or the stock count is incorrect. It would be better to do a cautious reserve and have someone physically check availability, then confirm if it is or is not available through the app.
