Pros & Cons
One of the pros of the FINAL FANTASY VI mobile app is its faithful recreation of the original game, with updated visuals and touch-screen controls that enhance the gaming experience. The app also includes bonus content, adding value for players who may have already experienced the game on other platforms.
However, one potential con is the cost of the app, which may be higher than other mobile games. Despite these drawbacks, the overall quality and depth of the game make it a worthwhile experience for fans of the series.

Yes, you can play it Offline. Yes, there's also a "Run Button" so you can run inside the cities and buildings, and Yes! There's also a "CRT Line" effect called "Classic" in the game settings to make it look slightly darker and, well, "oldie looking", I think it looks nice. Music is phenomenal, I'd be "Sitting on clouds" if i could add the OST to my MP3 Collection, but the built-in music player with animations is just great, it's a nice little touch. Great for nostalgia and amazing QOL features.
Best game ever !!! Problems with cloud saving. As of February 19, 2024, I have been having issues with cloud saving doing the uploading and downloading.. I've tried several ways to solve this issue as I restarted my phone and checked for game updates and software updates on my phone, tho none worked. I also brought out one of my old phones and downloaded the game new to see if it was a problem with my new phone, and it wasn't.. the same issue is happening for both phones. Thank you.
Fantastic Game, AMAZING soundtrack. I've played this many times, and couldn't resist the pixel remaster. The music is so beautifully arranged in such a way that it sounds more orchestral. While I desperately wish there was controller support (honestly...) the controls are forgivable and pretty easy on the game. I'm at the tale end, and it was worth every penny.
Ff-VI styling an opera storytelling, some comedies👺.. No job custom, but characters setup quite solid, weapon, armor, magic skill learn. Arranged 🎹music lift-up the journey for sure. Tap direction-button feels clunky. Buttons in battle somehow small, hard for tactical.
This is a worthy edition FF6 but with flaws. It has a marvelous orchestral score. Many quality of life improvements for pathfinding and other little touches. But, on a moto 4g play (2021), it crashes all the time. Every 5 minutes. Put in airplane mode and this reduced the rate to once every 30 minutes but still too many. Never saw the full ending cutscene after beating the final boss because the game crashed in the middle of it.
Phenomenal game and excellent port. The game itself is one of the best JRPGs ever, but the QOL features and improvements are just outstanding! The only negative thing I can say about this port is that the virtual stick for touch controls is hideous to use, it's WAY better with a controller (which I'm using), but being a mobile port one would expect the virtual analog stick would work well, but no. They could have made it invisible and floating, showing a fixed one only for Sabin's Blitz.
I'm thoroughly enjoying this remaster, and I love what they did with the opera scene. There are a few glitches here and there, and it feels like the game is slower during certain animations than its snes counterpart. My only major gripe I have is with Gau, both in battles and leveling on the Veldt. During autobattle mode rages must be chosen each time; and on the Veldt the party battle actions are not cleared when Gau reappears, so I end up hitting him accidentally. I hope it gets patched!
Most, a good port of the original SNES game, with an update in graphics, sound, and text/translation. Cannot give the full 5 star rating however, due to the lack of some content not available for the mobile version that is in the Gameboy advance release. None of the new summons/spells, none of the new bosses, nor access to the new dungeon. And after saving post credits, the stolen Ultima Weapon and Illumina sword do not show up in your inventory. Disappointing, but still a good play.
FF6 is still my favorite. Not a perfect remaster, however. The touch controls for certain things are difficult to deal with, most notably trying to switch the Rows of your characters in the Formation menu. Lack of controller support is annoying. And this is very specific, but Gau isn't good for a new reason: he doesn't function with Auto-Battle. It sets him to Attack, which isn't even a command he normally can do, rather than using the last Rage you had selected. Seems like an oversight.
I previously wrote a negative review here talking about the lack of gamepad support, which is honestly a deal breaker for me. Well, they finally added it, but I wish they did it on release, hence the 4 stars. I also wish it had the bonus content in the GBA version because as far as I know, it doesn't. Problems aside, it's still Final Fantasy VI--a beautiful game that still holds up 30 years later.
I don't think the controls were as bad as people were saying, but they were annoying - I was able to put up with them. The graphics are phenomenal and the remaster is really well done. The music is fantastic - however, I do kind of wish I was hearing the original soundtrack. In all I do recommend this walk down nostalgia lane, it's worth it.
The games really fun, just looks like a derpier version of the original but with better looking effects and graphics, really annoyed that I just got the money to get the game hoping to get the extra content (dragon's den, ultimate weapons, etc.) But it's not there anymore after this version came out., so that takes a lot away from this. But it is still nice that I can play the game on the go. Just if square could update this with the extra content/controller support, it would deserve 5 stars.
I've played about an hour or two so far but I'm going to get a refund because I cannot stand the controls, why oh why is there not controller support? It would make this a much more enjoyable experience, the tap controls sometimes work but getting through doors is impossible so I'm constantly switching between tap controls and the move wheel, other than the awful controls this game looks amazing and sounds great too, the difference between this and the 1994 version is insane!
This is beautiful remake of a genuine classic. It's fun to re-live all those moments again. My only "beef" is that almost every second battle seems to be a back attack, and MOG doesn't seem to know how to dance anymore. He stumbles 99% of the time. It's also kind of disappointing that bonus content from subsequent other versions isn't included( GBA extra espers and dungeon).
I want to love the game but I can't! The remaster looks awesome and the return to old-school FF6 is just what I wanted! The new features are awesome and make the game feel more modern while allowing it to feel like the original game. BUT I can't play for more than 5-10 minutes without it crashing! The crashes are normally when there is a screen transition but in places like Figaro Castle, you're transitioning between screens a dozen times just to get to the rooms you need to. Very frustrating!
I'm so frustrated, bought the game so I could finally finish ff6,but refunded in less than an hour. First the technical problems,it crashed every five minutes. Second I didn't like the bright new sprites and most importantly I hate with a passion that blue generic menu style and that cursed font. I loved the orchestral music, but in the end great music wasn't enough.
Sometimes, it will not start if you're offline, even if you've previously logged in. It's not terrible, but I wish I had bought it on pc instead because of the lack of offline access. Especially for the price. Offline access is possible and intended, but buggy. Not condoning piracy, but ports like these are a large portion of the reason people would rather pirate older games than buy a remaster. TLDR; good game bad port. Had issues with it within the first two hours.
Game was fun while it was playable. Played for about an hour, now the game won't load. Will not load a new game or a save file. Tried uninstalling and re downloading, game is still unplayable. I would either like a fix where I can play the game or a refund, not sure how to contact support or the developers.
it is a good game however, if you answer a text or anything even from the notification bar it will restart your game. so if you get a phone call or text while playing.......... reeeeeestart. makes it unplayable, too much grind for the quick save not to even work.
the app closes on its own constantly. and once I reached the opera house it would crash every single time and I can't go any farther
Constantly stop's and freezes at the opera song. What a waste of time and money for a game that doesn't work.
it won't let me play I downloaded it twice and it gets stuck on the open loading screen won't even let me watch opening credits note to self ff6 or ff7 work on cricket debut smart just to let y'all know and yes all the minimum requirements were met to play it
