scam. was a great product. boughtthe full version as an investment. just wanted it to be around whenever I got around to using it. now it's a forced subscription model. No easy path to using the legacy app. It's really too bad because it was a great app. You should sell different versions of it with unlimited access to version you buy. shouldn't have to jump through hoops to use something paid for in full. I would consider paying for another version. But I'm not doing a subscription.
is this really maintained anymore? it has been some months and a change of phone since the last time I used it, and today I have been charged for the subscription, that made me curious to see how it worked in the new phone. I opened the app and... nothing worked. reset the settings, uninstall reinstall... still nothing. checked when was the last time it was updated and sure enough, more than half a year. Sure it feels like I have just been robbed
Dishonest scam app. Imagine wanting to take a video of something, opening up your "premium" app, clicking through some inane popups (because you're in the moment), and then finding out the videos you took were not accessible unless you paid a subscription. If you ask people to pay for an application, you are duty-bound to maintain it. If you want to make more money, make more software products.
This software is generally not ready for pixel3 cameras. Compared to the stock android camera app, filmic pro footage is blurry/grainy, doesn't support 120fps (contrary to what is reported by filmic pro evaluator), and consistently crashes when connecting an osmo 2 gimbal. Additionally, the app consistently forgets the resolution/fps/hardware settings and requires reconfiguration every time I open it. I emailed the filmic support team and they responded very quickly, acknowledging that this is an issue with the pixel 3 camera module, but that there's nothing to be done about it right now.
Lots of features, but the cost of this subscription model? Come on. Clearly this app is no longer useful for the casual videographer. The new pricing doesn't make me rate this a single star. They now hold your videos hostage and force you to pay to export them. One star for that sneaky BS. Save your money and buy a decent used DSLR for around $1,000. It'll probably take better videos than your smartphone anyway. It'll be cheaper in the long run over paying $$$$$ every year forever for this.
