got an email saying they are closing my account because I haven't been for 2 years. claiming GDPR (which is 7 years not 2). I've been to costa, some don't do the points as they are independent e.g Chesterfield Royal Hospital or the app has been down. how about you ask us to log on to retain the information and not forcibly make us go in by a certain date and make a purchase. app itself is simple to use just don't make us go buy a drink we don't necessarily want to purchase at this time
Does not support gift cards! I was sent A Costa eGift card and would have expected to have been able to add that to the Costa app and use it to buy coffee, but that doesn't seem possible! The app only seems to support purchases with a registered credit card. Instead I have to go into my email app and scan the QR code from there.
App often great but sometimes updates break it. I think the last one was actually a server problem and the error message made me think it was the app... after a week of success I'm happy again. The app is easy to use in store and at express points, and it's great to get an extra bean when you use your own cup!
Anything one else finding they can no longer log in? the registration won't work either. I just get an oops something went wrong pop up. been like it for a week. even uninstalled and reinstalled, restarted phone etc.
suggested 90% of food is not available in the app but it is when you walk into the store, possibly slow updating stock availability? I ordered just after 8am. otherwise app is nice and easy to use, and to apply your rewards to the order
I'm trying to get the app because I go to Costa quite often, it won't let me register and when I do tap on the register option it does say there has been an error or something's wrong. same if i tap on the log in option, it says there's been an error occur.
Over the past few weeks the app won't update my rewards towards a free drink, keep getting 'oops something went wrong', so I decided to log out then couldn't get back in, getting the same message. So I uninstall and downloaded again, still can’t log in. from the reviews, I'm not the only one having this experience, get your act together Costa else you'll lose a customer!
Since the update, I have not been able to collect beans at all. And to make matters worse, they had an offer for 30% off food by the 1st June, I was not able to cash in on that either. So this app simply does not work as intended. Extremely unhappy with Costa-lot now! Update 18/6/25: Did email Costa about this, and still to this day, have not received any reply.
I've basically stopped using Costa entirely and swapped to independent coffee shops. Theres no appeal to use Costa or it's app especially since the increase in 'beans' to get a free drink, there's no deals on the app, and instore costs of food items is ludicrous compared to it's quality. The M&S collaboration wasn't the right move.
App is very deceptive. Shows you large icon witn "You have a free drink" drink reward. When you scan the vode at the till you are still charged as there is no rewards available.
I keep getting emails with offers like I have a free drink or I've got a birthday present just waiting in the rewards section of this app. but when I open it I've got nothing I have no idea how many rewards I've missed waiting for this app to update and return all my lost beans. will not be recommending this to anyone. I'm trying to contact Costa through the app but I have to put my Costa number into the form and can't find it on the app. extremely great customer service NOT
App won't remember my password and impossible to reset just takes you round and round in a loop. gst link to reset but constantly takes me to update the app but doesn't seem to be any update. gave up after 6th time in the loop.
Previous version worked a treat - fast to open and updated rapidly. This version is infinitely slower opening (when it does). i have yet to see it update in response to purchases. Not happy, and no longer recommend.
App looks nice and mostly works. In the cases that it doesn't, I have been charged two extra coffees and the customer support for resolving this has been quite poor. Update: They responded after 5 business days telling me to handle this with my bank rather than issuing me a refund.
The App doesn't work on Oneplus Android phone as it simply hangs on the Splash screen for over 10+ minutes and then on the login page... it is simply ridiculous that you do not have good Software Test Engineers to test your silly App.... what a waste of time to launch the app. I have reinstalled several times to see if it was an installation issue but that didn't resolve it....
the app fails payments regularly... well they take it lose it and then you have to wait over 8 weeks to be able to report to the bank to force a costa to return the money. and you still have to pay again for that pleasure. and will be unable to order via the app until the banks have retrieved the money costa lost in first place. this will happen roughly every 3-4 months.
Can't use the app. Unable to log in. Always having an issue. When I try to log in it keeps saying, oops something went wrong. I've tried uninstalling the app and install again. It's still the same. I've sent an email. No ones even responded back. I just give up now.😒
I have tried several times to set up a new password as I have forgotten the old one. nothing works. emails keep telling me I have earned a freebie after I use my Costa card. I have just been advised that system no longer works as it has to be on the app. can someone tell me how to change my forgotten password as that system doesn't even work. I spend regularly in Costa. very frustrating. help.please. my app was installed originally on a Costa branch. so frustrating.
App works fine most of the time. Would be nice if you could add a gift card to use to pay in the app. The other thing that annoys me is getting a treat drop for 2 drinks when visiting on your own. Should be allowed to choose. I'm getting pissed off with there treat drop now. Why is it always 2 drinks for 6 pounds. I'm not buying 2 drinks if I'm on my own.
QR scanning unreliable. About 10% of the time it just doesn't recognise the QR code on the machine, so I don't get the credit ("bean") - effectively short changing me. It's possible to contact them to ask it to be added but filling in their online form is more painful than completing a tax return, and I've already had to do it on several occasions so have now given up. My camera app recognises the QR code without issue, so it's definitely an issue with the Costa app itself. This is fundamental.
