ClickUp on desktop is, hands down, the best productivity product I've ever used. Even tho it's designed for businesses, it is just as useful for personal use. I've used ClickUp for over a year to manage my personal tasks/goals, my household, and my university classes/career. The reason this isn't 5 stars is because the mobile app is just not as good. I've used the Apple and Android versions, the old app and the newer one. There is a lot of things you can't do on the app, it will frustrate you.
The program is great on PC but the app lacks some things. You cannot look at forms or docs in the app. You also cannot enter addresses which is crazy. You cannot set a default startup page. The calendar view very often doesn't load or like right now, shows nothing. I use it for my main calendar and this is frustrating. It also desperately needs to have a caching ability to load the latest data and keep it in memory for offline use. Useless app without cell service.
It's feature rich and looks nice on screen, but it leaves a lot to be desired behind the screens and has useless support. The person I talked to knew less than me about the product, and the issue is STILL unresolved. Also, the import from Notion is not worth the effort. Of 49 Notion entities, not a single one was usable after import. They were a mess, and they weren't even complicated. I won't be using the product at all. It doesn't seem worth the time to get proficient using it.
EDIT: ClickUp has offline mode now for all platforms, and it also saves all tasks in the task tray (in desktop mode) offline. I emailed their support team and was very impressed with their fast and helpful response! The mobile app is still missing some important features, but this new update adds a lot more. It's also an excellent companion to the full-featured desktop version on the web. It's great for adding tasks and reminders on the go.
The app has much more limited functionality than the browser version, and it's a bit disappointing that I can't reorder subtasks or create recurring due dates, but it's good enough. I'm posting because I don't see how to contact support through the app to report the issue with Docs. The behavior of the Docs feature is so poor, it's basically not useable for anything other than typing paragraphs. If I use enter, heading, paste, undo, or otherwise try to edit my text, text moves or disappears. 😕
As new versions have come out, the mobile app has gotten farther and farther from the desktop and web app experience. Many features I use regularly such as subtasks and manual sort order to indicate priorities have gotten harder or impossible to use on mobile. At this point, I pretty much just use this app to stub out tasks in the backlog and have to use a desktop for everything else. Not the end of the world, but not nearly as useful to me.
ClickUp is a great tool, but the app is not so great. The features on the app are limited, and there is only one widget, which stopped functioning correctly. For my android it no longer recognizes what app to associate with it, so when I click to open either a task or reminder android gives me a list of apps to open the link with, and ClickUp isn't one of them :(
Not Useable at all. Love the web app, but the app on my phone I can't use. The first day I used it, got logged in, no problems. Next day and since can't even open the app. The clickup logo shows on the screen, and that is all she wrote. Just sits there forever. I have tried rebooting phone, forcing the app closed. Nothing works. Guess will have to stick with just the web app.
Edit: 2nd time thing Android app, tried before in April 2021 and there's supposedly been bug fixes and improvements since then. But for me, still useless. I can't even add a task! Forces me to choose a list and there's literally nothing there for me to select, so I end up being unable to add a task. The "roadmap", which I presume is there to help navigate through the mobile app, leads to a "nothing here" page. Ridiculous. Uninstalling AGAIN.
I can't find anything assigned to me, nor will it show my favorites on the favorite list, nor can I find anything, period. I can use the search feature but I have to know the exact name of the document to find it, & my "dashboards" have never been in the dashboard section, nor do I know how to find them, although they are sent weekly. This app is nothing but stress. It has the potential to be great, but perhaps not the ability.
To be clear, ClickUp is one of the best task management apps out there and their web version is outstanding, but as others have stated, the mobile version is lacking. Time view is limited, going through each list is slow and a pain. There is a new version coming with ClickUp 2.0 and with the way they have been releasing features in the last year, I'm hopeful it will be great.
I absolutely love ClickUp. I use it to organize home projects as well as school stuff, and the level of organization and the amount of features in it is insane (and kind of overwhelming for a few hours until you start figuring it out). I definitely recommend using it (and make sure to use the desktop version as well, especially when setting things up).
I really love the desktop app, but the Android app is buggy and isn't adding all scheduled task to the calendars and "next up" or "tomorrow" tabs. Also, the widget is completely useless. I was hoping the widget would have a few options including a calendar, but it's just a list of "today" tasks so you can't even see what you have coming up the following day.
I have used ClickUp for over 1 year. The Clickup desktop experience has been great. Unfortunately, the mobile app is much less so, and is still far from feature parity with the desktop app. For example, ClickUp Desktop has had the LineUp feature for over 2 years now. I use it to highlight my most important tasks. However, the mobile app STILL DOESN'T HAVE IT! It's extremely disappointing to see basic features like LineUp missing from the mobile application.
1 year later, same problem: ADD OFFLINE FUNCTIONALITY!! I go to jot down a quick task and I can't because without signal you can't select the list to put it in! Or anything else! This app is useless without a speedy internet connection. Even a completely separate "offline" folder that I can use without signal to add and remember things to sort later would be more useful than this brick of junk. And I pay for the web version. It's good. But this mobile app is embarrassing.
I was hoping this would be an Evernote replacement but there are no options to highlight text. I need multicolor highlighting options. Also, you cannot change the color of the text. These seem like very basic features but they are not available with this app. Otherwise, it seems very good and it might work for you, definitely worth trying. Unfortunately for me, my search continues.
I spent the day looking for an app that I can use for free (until I can afford to pay a subscription) that allows me to invite people and share tasks that need done. This app made that very simple with everything I want; task descriptions, subtask, comments, assigning, and much more. I can also access this from my phone, computer(s), and even my Chromebook. I recommend using this instead of waiting for Microsoft to reset a phone number in 30 days.
What is going on with this mobile app - you guys have made it impossible to match up to an already existing clickup account. I signed up on my PC first, then downloaded the app to my phone. Once the app is open there is no login option; only a button that sends an email to me, and everytime I click that one and only option I get a message that there was a "problem with email" and nothing happens. Why not just let existing users login, link their devices and move on?
The notifications are still an issue, though the all notifications just saying "ClickBot" issue has been resolved. I do not want clickup to use the convo section, but I can only mark each task as "not a convo" which is only helpful if it's a repeating task. Also, because it's in the convo section the only quick action available is to reply with "ok" - I need to be able to snooze or mark done or anything that might actually help me manage my time.
I was looking for goal management software for entirely personal use and while maybe not initially intended for someone like me, this is PERFECT for what I needed! It took me a moment to realize how customizable everything was, yet also really intuitive and I didn't have to look anything up or seek any tutorial. If you're seeking anything like that for yourself I cant recommend this app/site enough. If the free version is not enough for your needs (unlikely) you only need to pay $7 a month
The fundamental job of a task/project management application is to be as easy to use as a post-it note, but provide more organization and tracking tools than a post-it note, without getting in the way. Fundamentally, when working, adding or removing a task must be as easy or easier than writing it down on a checklist, or checking a box; because you aren't just competing with MS Project, Trello, and the like: you're competing with *free* lists, spreadsheets, and post-it notes. After ClickUp was recommended to me I've spent over a week trying to understand what it is, how it works, watching videos, etc. And yet every time I open it to add a task, check it off, or see what's next, I find myself starting at perplexing menus with no intuitive way to do what I want, and no discoverable hints at how one would. One particularly awful example is Spaces. You cannot add a task without it being in a Space (which is bad). You cannot add a Space from a draft task, so if you wrote it out, but don't have a space for it, too bad. You have to write it out again after creating the space. What's worse, you can't add a Space from the *Spaces* context! You have to go to the *Discover* context for that, which has an icon that looks more like Safari. Who would think I want to add a basic task. I should click Safari, add a Space, then add the task to that Space from a different menu? Nobody would, and I think that's who this app is for. :( Hey, There! Thank you so much for your honest feedback and review. You can now create Spaces using iOS on our Mobile application by heading to the Explore tab and then clicking on the plus sign in order to create a new Space! User experience and feedback is extremely important to ClickUp. Each Friday, we release new fixes, features, and use the feedback we have received to implement new processes for the platform. If you ever need personalized help with ClickUp, please feel free to reach out to us at [email protected] and we will be more than happy to assist you. Thank you again for your review and for being apart of the ClickUp family.
First off, I’m a huge fan of ClickUp. I’ve used every PM / Agile tool in my career. Even used to consult and help large companies implement productivity tools. And I only use ClickUp to run my businesses now and recommend it to everyone. I use the app on desktop, iPad, and phone. #1 thing I use the phone for is to capture reminders throughout the day and process them into tasks on the desktop. Now on iPad I can’t hit R on the keyboard to pop up reminder add, and on iPhone and iPad it’s now 2 clicks to add a reminder. There used to be a button right there I could quickly hit to add reminder. I know you might be thinking one extra click, come on. But when you use ClickUp as much as I do, it’s really annoying. Please bring back the quick add for reminders! And thanks for building such an amazing versatile tool to Get $h!+ done! Hey, there! Thank you so much for this amazing review! We're so happy to hear that you're such a big fan of ClickUp too!
I’m a new user to project management apps and ClickUp and so I can’t say I’ve had anything else to compare it to. But I am a designer and I have to say the app UI leaves something to be desired. It doesn’t feel intuitive and just gets me frustrated using it. The browser version is much more easier to use and I prefer to sign on through the browser on my iPad rather than the app. I hope the design team at ClickUp will consider redoing the UI in a way that makes it easier to use and understand right away. I don’t enjoy having to really think about how to get to my tasks/subtasks when I have to get them done. As far as features that ClickUp has to offer, I am happy that there are so many ways of customization that can allow for different brains to process information easiest to them. This allows for everyone on the team to work the best way suited to them. This is one of the main reasons why I continue to use ClickUp. Inclusive design rather than exclusive design! Hey! Thank you for the feedback!! Would love to hop on a call and chat with you about what isn't working for you with our UI - if you could shoot us an email at [email protected] we will get something set up
The Web interface is ok, would be nice if ClickUp indicated the name of the Project/Folder in the Task description, so when you have projects/folders with similar Tasks on other projects, you know which one your updating. This is challenging when working on multiple projects with similar workflow and tasks w/sub tasks. & list. Would also be nice if ClickUp linked with your other calendars. Has potential with some additional enhancements. If your a drag and drop person using Kanban, you may like this. I prefer Kanban, List and Integrated Calendar. All these tasks apps appear to be lacking in Calendar integration with visibility and clear naming of Task association to Folder/Project; as if Outlook email, meeting invites and other standard office tools no longer exist. Example: Common Tasks performed on every project might be “Send Intro Letter to Customer”. Since the view arranges in order of flow with not Project name indicated, there could be several “Send Intro Letter to Customers” indicated with no means to know which project its for. It’s also Difficult to indicate due date/time if you can’t see the other things in your Outlook Calendar such as Meeting request, etc. Again has potential, but these items are a must for me, so.....maybe in the future I’ll reconsider if the added functions are there. Again, iPad interface is terrible and not even remotely close to that of the web version. Hey, there! We truly appreciate your amazing feedback here! Thanks so much for taking the time to share this with us! We totally hear you on the iPad issue and the great news is that our team is working on an iPad optimized version!
I’m a true end user (not a paid writer or so.) Tried nearly all the mainstream project management tools in the market and found none of them helpful - their UIUX were ugly, too complex, or incompetent. Until I found ClickUp, nothing has really caught my eyes. (Maybe the PomodoroToDo, but it’s slightly different.) ClickUp has nearly fulfilled all my needs for personal task management and has the most aesthetic interface I’ve ever seen. The functions are relatively complete (only a few for improvement) and comprehensive. I rarely write a review but I’m doing it because it has really impressed me. The product manager of ClickUp seems to understand all the user pain points. I believe it’ll become big one day, and I wish all the best and good luck to the hardworking team! (If you are hiring, let me know! Lol) How this e-bike company shortened its production window from 9 months to 4 months.

ClickUp is a great tool, but the app is not so great. The features on the app are limited, and there is only one widget, which stopped functioning correctly. For my android it no longer recognizes what app to associate with it, so when I click to open either a task or reminder android gives me a list of apps to open the link with, and ClickUp isn't one of them :(
Edit: 2nd time thing Android app, tried before in April 2021 and there's supposedly been bug fixes and improvements since then.
