I'd say the items make the races more chaotic than mariokart. Car challenges take a while to appear, and I wish there was an easier way to obtain event cars than beating over 100+ player's best times. with all that said, it is still an outstanding sequel and I recommend it if you played the first, or if you want more chaos, chaos!
normally I don't mind ads but lately they are automatically opening up the PlayStore to whatever app or game they promote, and I do mind that.. a lot! I used to block ads at system level, and I thought that's where the game engine's hostility was coming from, but a few months ago I made an in·game purchase so I stopped blocking them (since the more annoying ones were gone) and the hostility's still intact.. but now I guess I'll have to start blocking them again
this is a very good game as the graphics and customization of your cars are very good. The one thing I would improve on this game is the characters, especially the ones you have to pay for... I know that you need the money to keep the game alive but its locking a lot of the cool characters. Also the tournaments needed to unlock these characters are almost unwinable. I grinded over 30 tries to get a character just to get 2nd so I wish you could raise it up to top 3 or 5 so we actually haveAChance
LOVE the new levels and options, but it really sucks that you cant upgrade cars, and cant buy cars with coins. It takes forever to level or gain new drivers cuz you cant choose to race them, or even choose what level to race on. There should be an option to race "live" against others, but also be able to play the levels solo or against characters. Its also annoying that some people get advanced drivers/cars to start off with, while other people get stuck with the beginners basic beach buggy.
Had really high hopes for this game, and I actually had a lot of fun with it at first. However, a vast majority of the races simply cannot be won, be it because other cars are simply better, or because you get bombarded with attacks all at once and are almost always powerless to stop them. The game really feels like winning is based 25% on skill and 75% on npc rng. Disappointing and frustrating. Visuals are cool, tho. I enjoyed a lot of what this sequel had to offer, but gameplay comes first.
The game is good, don't get me wrong, but, almost 50 dollars for the rest of the locked characters? That doesn't seem fair having to pay just to unlock half of the roster, and as sad as it is, there are more karts than there are characters, I like the options, but, can we at least have more options for characters that aren't being a paywall?
Honest review! The game is great overall. Don't look at anyone who says "the bots are too hard", they're wimps. Yes, they can be won with a bit of strategy, and consistenly too! The events are great! Only "issue" is how slowly you level up and how little you really get from normal races. Luckily you can watch a minute worth of ads to get 2 hours off, which is good. Truth be told, I love this game, but don't buy stuff too much. Everything will come to you in time! Please add a new game mode tho!
This game is very good, the graphics, characters, events, everything. There is one problem, though. I always keep dying on the firework fury event. It is so hard it takes me 1 minute 30 seconds or higher to complete. I have to try like 3 to four times to get it to 1 minute. Can you please make the firework fury a little easier? Please and thank you!
Another update and powerups are still limited for the worse. On top of that, they've taken away a bunch of the original race tracks. Plus the unlock crate timer is a waste. I really like beach buggy racing. I bought the first one and have played the second a lot. It's a really fun racing game. But the recent changes are ruining the game. I wish there was a way to roll back. If these issues are fixed, I'd gladly go back to 5 stars.
I started playing BB 2 again after a long break and it is much different now. It seems like the tournaments are not winnable. If you use your power ups too strategically, your buggy almost always gets shot down or blown up. It also seems like you spend more time getting hammered by the other buggies than actually doing any racing. All of these factors made me wonder why I started playing again. Just not fun to play anymore so I deleted it. 2 stars for the cool graphics and characters.
Really fun game, smooth controls, great looks. My only problem comes within the gameplay itself. You're going to be affected by powerups WAY more than the computer players. Like you'll use a power up with a speed boost and not pass someone just going at their regular pace. Everytime you build a huge lead it all depends if you get a shield or something, because you're about to have a huge wave of powerups destroying you , and if it's a computer on that position, they've got it locked up.
The game tends to be fun enough to play through a couple of races a day. The difficulty hovering just above your current level, no matter what your experience points may show, is meant to entice the player into paying to win. Update: I stopped playing. I will buy and reinstall a full, ad-free version when there's a career/campaign mode available. I hate that the player is forced to compete with other online users.
