I have been enjoying my Awesome Golf experience with the Garmin R10. There are some minor issues with picking up chip shots and I don't know how accurate my side spin readings are but those might be launch monitor issues that I can live with. I wanted to set up an affordable home golf simulator with enough 0 feedback to improve my game and AG helps me do that. I really like that AG is adding new courses and updates to the software and look forward to more in the future.
Great simulation! This is my favorite application for my Garmin R10. I have E6, and Home Tee Hero as well. This app has the best representation of actual ball flight and distances out of the three. I love the coaching aspect of the range. I bought the lifetime membership after the free trial. I love that there are so many subscription options offered. I will most likely drop E6 at the end of the year.
The interface is fantastic and accurate. My initial review was disappointing because I couldn't review session data without being connected but learned there's a second app you have to downloaded to view data. Not sure why we need two apps to do what everyone else does in one but at least it's there. Love the updates and support, highly recommend!
On the 2 week trial, overall love it so far, it is a far better experience than the Rapsodo app. It feels so much more thought out and seemless. No connection issues for me. Suggestions: 1. Add the ability to use a distance multiplier, I have my 4 year old who loves playing with me, but his shots just don't go far enough in some of the games. 2. few more courses and games, not 1000s just a few more. 3. My whole family plays, so the ability to set individual level difficulties, to even the games
Been using the free trial for a week and love the features. Tested at a local driving range and showed my girlfriend all of the family friendly games. She's never swung a club before. With her on front tees and me on the back we played a competitive 3 hole game. (she beat me🫣) We also played the mini games and it was very accessible for both a non golfer and someone who has been playing for 25 years. I plan to set up a (free) family friendly Sim for local kids in Ecuador with the in app games!
Amazing app. Very accurate for me to improve my game and super fun for the whole family. We love the shootouts! If you're looking to continue to improve I would suggest a short, easy 9 hole track that that has all forward tees less than 100 yds (30-100yds) so young kids can play a full 9. Another option would be to allow users to select which holes from each of your 4 courses they would like to make up their 9. That way you can select the 6 or 7 par 3s and a couple short par 4s.
Amazing! I thought no way is worth $300 lifetime purchase license - then I trialed for 2 days and quickly paid up. Love it! Need more full courses and online live multiplayer with other awesome golf users. Swing video recordings would be nice too.
Update: Community app for data. Using with Garmin R10. The information is great while you are hitting is great and breaks down the strike in a nice salient way, but you have to download the community app to review it. On trial period, idk whether I will continue it. It has only 4 courses, but the challenges look fun. I really wish I could review shot performance with visuals, as displayed in the simulator. It's really well presented there.
3.5 Stars. I just got the garmin r10 and downloaded this sim. I played 9 holes and 3 of them I had to quit. I would be on the fringe of the green and chip 15 times with nothing happening. I chip on the Garmin app range and no issues. Please fix!
Been using this for more than a year, great app overall, not many bugs or stuff. 4 stars because I wish there was a feature in which you could personalize more stuff like flag location and the penalty stuff should be optional. They added the mulligan and that is a great add IMO
I'm currently on the 2 week free trial. I have this connected to Garmin R10. It's a great app, the stats are pretty on point. I used this at a driving range so I was comparing my ball flight with the stats and they were pretty accurate. I'm just wondering why this app is more accurate than the Garmin app itself. The only reason I haven't bought the lifetime fee is because I play virtual golf a lot and you only have 4 courses. Home tee hero has 42,000+ courses. Once you fix that I'll consider it.
Played on a two week demo. Paired with a Garmin Approach R10. Lots of fun with several game modes. Games are engaging and keep you focused on making good shots. The pricing model however needs work. $349 for a lifetime license, or $199 plus $12.99 per month for the subscription option--as of May '22. In contrast, Garmin's Hometee Hero (HH) runs $9.99/month. While HH isn't gamified like Awesome Golf, you can play thousands of courses. Please rethink your pricing model and you'll gain a customer.
I really like the awesome golf sim on my garmin r10! It works well and is accurate as long as you have the proper spacing in between launch monitor to tee box and tee box to impact screen! The only downfall is there their isn't a huge selection of golf courses to play! I do like the new one they added recently but it would be nice if it had alot more!
Using the trial version now with the Garmin R10. Great overall performance and data, my only concern is that I built my simulator for on course training on limited budget so I can only afford one software program. This software is not much cheaper than GSPro which is a much more developed program. Awesome Golf is really great for a family golf party, lots of fun for the kids but not enough value for the real simulation guys.. I would love to have it as my second program. But price?
It seems to read distances better than Garmin's golf app. I did enjoy the format and it's a fun way to practice, BUT not at all worth the money they are asking for. Seems like they are just trying to cash in on golfers because tgc2019 and e6 do it too? Pathetic. You are better off taking that $350, buying an iPad 6th gen or higher, and using Garmin's free E6 range and 6 courses that come with it. Much better value and you'll have a new iPad to play with
Where to begin. 1. You can't view stats without being connected to the device. 2. Despite seeing lots of metrics when hitting in the range you can't view those shots when you visit your stats in shot by shot. You can only see your biggest shot and just the carry and distance. I stopped after that. For a paid app, it's poor. On the plus side graphics are ok. Better than mlm2pro native app. I've cancelled my subscription and will move on.
I don't get it? what in the heck is a Garmin R10? I did read the reviews and it sounds like I wouldn't be able afford to play this App, even if I did find out what a G-R10 is anyway.
No gc3 support? Its Garmin, Rapsodo or Square. Load it. How dumb is it that you guys have a deal with Foresight to give a lifetime membership to people who buy their launch monitors but this app doesn't support Foresight products. Total fail. Do better.
Loved the simulator, but now that my trial is over, I can't justify paying these ridiculous prices to continue using it. $350 USD for a lifetime membership or pay $200 for the privileged to pay a monthly subscription of $10 a month. The sim is good, but not nearly good enough to pay these prices. I'll continue to use the Garmin golf apps for my R10, these prices are just asanine. I'd happily pay $15/mo, but to drop $200 initially to continue paying? Not worth it.
I have tested on rapsodo. The trial version is sufficient to test all awesome golf. Takes one hour to play all virtual golf, cause 4 x9 holes. And yes, it is not worth the price. Seriously after paying you can also pay subsription fee. I guess when this app will have a lot of the golf courses and the price would be only for subsription it can go up to 4 stars.
