lights used to work, never had issue, suddenly my internet can connect to everything the way it used except the lights can't connect. My $2000 gaming PC connects and plays everything just fine. This app? KNOWS there's and issue, has a button that offers help, click the button: "Help Center being added in next update?" no suggestions on how to fix this.
I loved version 1, so after transitioning to version 2 today, it's very underwhelming. My lights automatically paired when I signed in, but it won't let me change the light settings. I keep hitting Save and Apply, but it doesn't do anything. I can only change the color/brightness by talking to Alexa, and it just makes the process inconvenient, especially since my place really needs lights. Version 1's sliding scale for brightness and vibrance was much more user-friendly.
I love the dynamic options and the ability to highly customize the lighting of an area or room. My only concern is that sometimes, certain ones or all of my wiz lights are "unavailable". One in particular, I named "this b!t?h never works" because I turn it off remotely every night, but almost every morning I have to get up and manually turn it off and on to get it "accessible".
Edit. NOTHING but issues with this new version of the app. The old app was better. Constantly having to take lights off the app & re add them back on. So many times the lights just aren't connected or not online having to repeat process mentioned above. Right now I have a light on. & its not online after being RE-RE-RE added to the network. 3xs it not the charm. So as lazy as I am I have to get up & go turn it off by the switch. The purpose of the app is to be able to do it w/out manual touch.
Edited my review. The app is Not very intuitive for setting scenes, music etc. My internet name changed and there is no easy way to update on WIZ. Had to reset all my bulbs. Which was a pain. I do not want or wish to link sign on with any account. I prefer to have my own password. Please allow usage without signing into Google or Facebook.
I appreciate this company offering reasonable smart home devices, such as security cameras, lights, smart plugs etc. their app works predictably well and connects to my Google home app without issues. they have recently "freshened" up the app and it seems to even better and be more intuitive. one thing that would be cool (if THEY/THEM are LISTENING! 🎧) would be the ability to use the features that they provide in their proprietary app (such as cool settings like the "dynamic ocean setting" via
I paid $36 per light bulb only for the app to be less than useless; it doesn't stay connected to the lights for more than a month, the setup is less than intuitive and very difficult to get more than one light to synch per fixture (meaning you have to start all over!) and the when you do get the lights connected the app refused to register them being on the network 8/10 times. do not recommend, get some cheap lights with an actual remote off Temu.
Funny. App and web designers are so clueless at times. This app is made for those with great vision since it uses tiny, white, thin, fonts on pastel backgrounds. It is made without thinking of anyone who might need to zoom to make images or text larger. Very inconsiderate design. Untrained in any aspect of W#G protocols. It looks 'preet' but it is not user friendly whatsoever. The peole that designed this should be embarrassed by the lack of visual options and support. It's simple stuff.
The app works well, but the widgets are needlessly large (taking 3x2 of grid space to show a 2x1 image, for example) and the app itself is SEVEN GIGABYTES in size, for some insane reason. So if you want to turn your lights on and off, you're going to have to uninstall Google Maps first to free up some space.
Worked well for a few months then all the lights one by one started blinking off then back on every second or two. I spent about 30 minutes and finally got one to pair to the app on my new phone All my bulbs are like this. Idk if this is their attempt to force me to buy new bulbs but this just makes me not want to buy this brand ever again. I don't understand why you would design it to blink when disconnected from network instead of just steady.
Terrible app. Messy, sometimes redundant controls in different locations and methods. Unreliable light control. Barely a step up over those no-name Chinese product apps. Can't set colors and have them slowly change on a schedule. 'Automations' only allow 5 abrupt color and brightness changes. And mine randomly stopped working one day. Motion sensor can't control specific lights, only an entire single room. And can't activate a scene.
This has to be one of the worst smart light apps I have ever used. Pairing a bulb tests our patience to the limit. The main purpose of purchasing a smart bulb, is to control the lights when we are not at home. The bulb always disconnects from the Wifi and I'm always facing the "Unknown issue occurred please try again" error messages. Even scheduling won't work properly. It turns on outside the scheduled timings. What's the point of using this app if I can't control the bulb. Pathetic app.
Don't waste your money on this junk. Spend a little more and buy GE, Philips, Linkind, or even Google, literally any other brand. From day one, these builbs have had connection issues, sometimes working, sometimes not, and if you move them to another room, forget it... good luck getting it to reconnect. Waste of money.
dark mode isn't dark it's bright blue. Navigation, such as opening the app, splashes a bright white page before loading the chosen theme. Overall, the app does control and automate the lighting well and easily. However, it's lack of dark theme and overall neglect for digital wellness is horrid. If I choose to go to bed early I have to suffer a bright white flash on my screen, to then render vivid blue light, so I can toggle the lights off. Worse, if I miss the toggle it flashes more blue light.
When it works, it's great and you hardly notice it. But this app fails so often after updates or you get logged out that we have spent literally years without using it until it miraculously becomes useful. Currently, I cannot log into our home setup after logging in again (says there's no rooms with my account). My wife sent me an invitation code, and every time I attempt to enter it, the app crashes before I can. Hot Garbage! I'm so done.
it's almost 2026 and you are telling me I can't make my own dynamic profiles? I noticed in a certain situation, you make the app purposely not work when there is no connection to your cloud? cause I can open up the app for a split second and control the lights, but the moment it can't get to your servers it stops working🧐 also I have had the worst time trying to get these bulbs to work with Google home, I bought like 2 packs of I think 4? yeah it refuses- delays, has trouble connecting- ect..
I've had the Wiz light bulbs for almost two years now and my honest option is: they are not reliable at all. The bulbs often unlink with app even though they paired up perfectly the first go around. Then gives you the dreaded "unable to control This device is currently offline. Check its settings for more details." but when you go to settings nothing comes up on why it's offline. Ugh ... my advice if you want smart bulbs for your house don't cheap out, just get the better more expensive brand.
UPDATE: NOW the only two lights that I have are constantly turning themselves on! They are outdoor flood lights, so I never know they are on until it gets dark out, or for how long they have been on!!! I turn them off, and 10 seconds later they turn themselves back on! Now I cannot get them to stay off! I definitely do not recommend these lights! I only have 2 of these lights, and one or the other will either not turn on or not turn off. HORRIBLE product.
Not as intuitive or user friendly as the old app. Can't find how to control my Wiz Remotes in the app. I did migrate from the old app so maybe I have to set them up again. Information is spread over several screens instead of one page. Another app worse than its predecessor. It has a page dedicated to additional products you can buy. Yay
New Review! Upon redoing all of my connected lights, and after, seemingly, a couple of updates, this app actually works pretty solid now! I was able to link it back up to my Google home setup with little issues, just had to remove the old setup and add a new one. My only request for a feature that would make this app AWESOME is if it could detect when your phone connects to the WiFi network and automatically turn the lights on for you when you get home, otherwise, good job guys! I'm happy 😁

I'm happy 😁

Edited my review. The app is Not very intuitive for setting scenes, music etc. My internet name changed and there is no easy way to update on WIZ. Had to reset all my bulbs. Which was a pain. I do not want or wish to link sign on with any account. I prefer to have my own password. Please allow usage without signing into Google or Facebook.
it's almost 2026 and you are telling me I can't make my own dynamic profiles? I noticed in a certain situation, you make the app purposely not work when there is no connection to your cloud? cause I can open up the app for a split second and control the lights, but the moment it can't get to your servers it stops working🧐 also I have had the worst time trying to get these bulbs to work with Google home, I bought like 2 packs of I think 4? yeah it refuses- delays, has trouble connecting- ect..
It's simple stuff.
dark mode isn't dark it's bright blue.
I don't understand why you would design it to blink when disconnected from network instead of just steady.
lights used to work, never had issue, suddenly my internet can connect to everything the way it used except the lights can't connect. My $2000 gaming PC connects and plays everything just fine. This app? KNOWS there's and issue, has a button that offers help, click the button: "Help Center being added in next update?" no suggestions on how to fix this.
