I downloaded this for taskmaster which is extraordinarily funny and worth watching the odd advert for. You cannot, of course, insist your tv plays all episodes any time of day or night adverts or not. It just will not listen. Whatever you say it will punctuate any episodes with top gear or American pickers or storage hunters or antiques road trip or rick steins food orgy or two men in a shack or pickled Rodney dangerfield or cor blimey what a wizard or monkey tennis or cheese wars or Jesus in a flatcap or the life and times of billy bremner or defacing the greats or florist gauntlet or dremmamine slalom or Leopoldo blooms brand new shoes or once I wrote a best selling matchbook or drifting bin bags or red gurnards for shoes or spawning frogs or ten minute shoelaces or beetle sandwiches or beatle sandwiches or book spine chronicles or the reality wars or awful orbs or once I hosted a jam sandwich (police car) raffle or optimum level or wheelbarrow narratives or mike silvers lost ball bag or bargain hunt.

When casting to Google TV from my phone I get stuck in endless advert loops. Also the app ends up showing the wrong episode - e.g. I clicked on episode 3, but I got to watch the first 15 minutes of episode 4, then endless repeats of adverts - with my phone now saying its now on episode 6. I can't understand how it's so bad! The BBC owns UKTV and iPlayer is great - why is this app so buggy.

Reinstalled channels, created account with App, linked smart TV via onscreen code with App and it still comes up with an error code and won't allow me to watch any programmes via the TV, tried using different accounts and different smart TVs including a new one. Email responses are cut and paste, and a waste of time. Can view programmes via App on the phone but who on earth wants to do that. Plenty of comment on Google about issues. This is a shambles, very disappointing

Update; Adverts frequently lasting 250 seconds.? They're getting longer!... APP DELETED ! The Heck with it... And I'll conspicuously avoid the companies that advertised! Well done to the devs (daves, hur hur) if annoying users was the intention!

The app works fine but I would really like a version for Android TV. There is an app for Roku but having to go through the extra step of casting from a phone or tablet to an Android TV is a frustrating extra step.

like all the other uk apps for freeview except this one doesn't let you watch a live channel. on demand shows only. constantly asks me to set up a pin in case i suddenly got 40 years younger. plays 5 adverts (3 and then 2 logos) and then nothing. search 'as yet untitled' shows 1 series in results then autoplays about 5 years worth. utterwank. the new channel stream doesn't work on chromecast but the rest does. bad app still

Less with the ads! Totally get you have try and keep the app free but 6 ads is a bit excessive. Why not show two 1 minute ads instead of 6 different mini ads? Or get this is you are watching a boxset (series) for that series you watch one advert per episode? Sorry but it's like watching it on TV all over again. Please try an adapt a little. And if any changes Ill give better rating. Many thanks for viewing.

There’s plenty of content on the app but here’s some of the bigger issues; 1. Too many adverts - it’s worse than watching normal television - also if you need to rewind a few seconds and that takes you back before the ad break then be prepared to watch another 5 minutes of adverts. 2. Unlike normal tv it seems the ads are just placed at random. Two people might be mid conversation and you’ll suddenly get a three minute advert right in the middle. 3. Some content has been edited to the point of making it nonsensical. Some episodes are missing quite hefty plot-heavy scenes due to strange editing choices - you may need to consult Wikipedia afterwards to try and find out what you missed! 4. Persistent hassling to turn on notifications. Every time I open the app I’m asked to turn them on - if I wanted notifications I’d say yes the first time, by the twentieth I’m definitely not interested! 5. Chromecast connectivity is temperamental in the extreme - fancy casting to your tv? Good luck as it seems to be totally hit or miss whether the option appears in the app! There’s some good content on the app but some strange choices put this way behind some of the other free streaming apps.

Atrocious. If you want to watch endless puerile adds, this is the only app you need. More add time than program to watch. Starts with 5 mins of adds. Resume (if luck doesn't send you to the beginning again) gives 1 of 2 or 3 adds, programme flashes up for 1 sec, then you get 1 of 5 or 6 adds as well. 8 mins lost and watched nothing. Then you can watch only a few minutes of your program, until it reaches one of the fixed add points. Another 6 adds... what a joke. If the idiots who wrote the app, weren't so greedy for add money, they would use some positive psychology and let you watch 10 mins at the start without adds, to lure you in. All4 used to be like this, they learnt from the negative approach and made their app far more watchable. More viewers, more revenue... oh and don't try skipping forward to the place you were at, because you'll just get all the add points you skipped through playing multiplied by 5 or 6. 20 adds at once take your fancy?

Just had to reinstall app, which had previously worked fine. When I started app after update, it asked if it wanted to scan the network for cast devices - I clicked okay and was presented with a white screen - totally in recoverable! On reinstall, I clicked “no thanks”and followed the prompts and it worked. Something is definitely awry; I’ve castable devices on another network, yet don’t necessarily think the app should completely crash if it can’t find any devices on the network it’s currently connected to!

The app works fine but I would really like a version for Android TV. There is an app for Roku but having to go through the extra step of casting from a phone or tablet to an Android TV is a frustrating extra step.

Update; Adverts frequently lasting 250 seconds.? They're getting longer!... APP DELETED ! The Heck with it... And I'll conspicuously avoid the companies that advertised! Well done to the devs (daves, hur hur) if annoying users was the intention!

The BBC owns UKTV and iPlayer is great - why is this app so buggy.

like all the other uk apps for freeview except this one doesn't let you watch a live channel. on demand shows only. constantly asks me to set up a pin in case i suddenly got 40 years younger. plays 5 adverts (3 and then 2 logos) and then nothing. search 'as yet untitled' shows 1 series in results then autoplays about 5 years worth. utterwank. the new channel stream doesn't work on chromecast but the rest does. bad app still
