I love having this game available on my mobile device. It matches up with the tabletop version really well and is mostly easy to use. Sometimes dragging trains onto a route doesn't register (can take a few tries). I haven't had trouble connecting with my friends in a while, so that seems to be improved. Now, the game loses a star for the AI gameplay. For a while, it was ok, but for the last year or so, the AI plays like an angry child without any intentions of winning. Watching them go in circles seemingly to block a route is frustrating, especially when the end stats show they didn't complete a single route. Not any where close. Still, it is worth having, and I am glad to play it with my real people.
My issues with this game. 1. Don't always get loaded into game when enough people get in game. (Have to go back through several screens to get to resume page to get in game) 2. When someone leaves, the robot rarely takes over so you have to wait till there time runs out. The player would have to manually withdraw from game in different screen, but they don't. They usually leave people hanging because they got blocked or don't like their new tickets. Now you have to sit and wait.
It's a good game and I play it often. However, they keep dinking with the interface, throwing up annoying indicators it's your turn. The last time they did this, it changed back pretty quickly. So, I'm surprised they did it again. Pay attention to that feedback! Second, every so often an update resets my volume preferences and what I thought was going to be a quiet diversion starts loudly playing ragtime. Not cool.
TTR is a great game, I thoroughly enjoy it. I'm not a fan of the chess-style ranking system. Doesn't adapt well to a game with randomness like drawing cards, I can lose 100 pts easy just from bad luck. Also super buggy; it's not uncommon to get kicked out for no reason or to lose sync. Also I get random notifications that say TTR Needs Your Attention seemingly for no reason; when i open the app, there's nothing new or unusual. I hope they resolve this app's many bugs, I want to like it a lot!
I have to turn the music off every time I open the game! Make it stay off! Overall, the UI is pretty terrible. It takes 5 clicks just to resume a game(!), and you have to wait for it to animate the menus. You can accelerate the main menu by tapping, but the other ones take forever and are unresponsive at first. I hate how it constantly nags you that it's your turn when you're thinking. But it's T2R, and I can play it with friends, so 2 stars.
