I used to love this game but it now gets "stuck" and I lose hands because it plays cards I didn't get to choose. I like playing with people, not the computer. I've lost a lot of coins and have been removed from the table for slow play! I can't find another Spades game like this. I'm so disappointed. I've played this game for years!
New review: Compared to every other spades app I've tried (at least 5 others) this is the best if you want consistency (in getting matches: high player counts .... in AI intelligence if you're unfortunate enough to be paired with one ... etc) One gripe: when you auto-join a table in classic play mode - if you don't like the look of the match-up, you have only a split second to leave the table. One split second hesitation or hitting the wrong button and you're stuck in a horrible match.
Game play wise it's the best spades app I've tried. However, matchmaking seems intentionally lousy at times. Opening the app is continually getting worse. It's not a 'Special Offer' if it appears every time I open the app. I stopped being impressed by stickers as awards when I was 8. Virtual stickers serve even less purpose. Why waste my time with them?
I'd like to give this game five stars. But it has this algorithm where if you set the other team, it will give one of the players on the other team a blind-nil hand so they can come back and win. Not every time but enough times to where it's noticeable and players have caught on. This is frustrating when you're a good player, set the other team, and you get beat because the system wants to make the game competitive, thus giving the opposing team blind nil hand. Defeats the purpose of playing.
09/22 update So I'm still playing this game and I have to say that it's definitely went downhill .It's slow, especially if you don't have 5g internet.there's also SO many ads,like too many.. there's an ad every time you finish a game or if you switch to a different layout , it's ridiculous love playing spades,especially on this app. It's super easy to use and I like the layout,it can be a little slow at times though but it's still enjoyable at times
It's a really fun app but it freezes and lags pretty frequently. When it lags when you are bidding, it will bid 1 for you if it doesn't unfreeze in time. When you first start playing, it gives you like 8 or 9 hands every time. This is to get you sucked in at first. You have to watch 30 second adds or pay money to get more tokens to keep playing. Very fun game play, but the laggyness, random card dealing, and ads made me give it only 3 stars.
Spades is my favorite game to play, and Spades Plus is the only Spades game I will play. HOWEVER, I have been having issues with game play for roughly 4 months now . The game constantly freezes .I have to leave the table, close out the app, and re-open it.. Then repeat after only one hand. Over and over again. It's really frustrating and I would like to be able to sit and play a game or three like I used to, with no problems. Can you help me somehow????
The game play and variety of games are really good. I used to play this every day until they added the ads. Sometimes you can't get out of the ads without closing the whole app and restarting. I wish they would've offered an option to go ad-free before adding the ads, because I would've bought that. Now it's a struggle to have to deal with this, just to play a game I enjoy. I've tried different Spades apps and found this one to be the best. Now it's just mediocre.
I don't understand why I can't get a fair game from the cards dealt or players. I used to play some days during work, eat, and all things. With the endless cheating of players and the so-called algorithm used by the platform system. I may jump online looking for a game twice out the day. I want to thank the game for catching up with some of the cheaters. However, it's still happening. THANK YOU FOR THE GENERIC RESPONSE. MEGA JOKE!
Cards dealt are extremely unfair, for two primary reasons. 1) Team with lowest number of coins almost always gets better hands. 2) After NOT watching ads for a while, hands become almost impossible to win. I had two accounts on separate devices. I watch occasional ads on one account, and routinely saw the "normal" deals, as described in #1. On the other account, I never watched ads. It was impossible to win after a few weeks. Fair, random deals would be better.
The game keeps freezing up when it's time for me to bid , I get stuck with 1. I've purchased certain things and don't get to use them , like the table colors . You dont apply what color I pick and get stuck with the same old green everytime . This is BS . Fix your game please . Thanks
When I first started this game J was happy with it. It lets you play teams or cut throat, the graphics is awesome and fun. But, the game stalls on me a lot. Then it'll boot me off and the computer takes over.. Making me lose my game and my winnings.. It did it too many times so I finally removed it. I don't know if there's an issue in the system but I hope they check it. It is a good game.
I've played this game for years! I still like playing, I used to really enjoy it. Now, not so much! The games algorithm literally picks who it wants to win. Giving the opponent the better hand to bid high and their partner to nil. Giving you the worst combination of cards where you have a low bid for you and your partner. When it comes to betting, we all bet the same amount, but when you win, you don't get the full bag. It's shared with the losing team. Now the game freezes after 1 game.
Great competition against other players. Good variety of different games. Problem is when the computer plays they give you some bs about algorithms. Just played a game and the bot got 8 consecutive hands of 5 to 7 books. I posted here because of the answer I was given. I noticed it has changed. Now if you can do something about none of the solo games showing up except the ones created by the house that would be great. After reading the reviews. I am not wrong. Greed is costing you players.
The scoring is non-transparent, if not sketchy. I have been leading the score board, then won the round, and lost the game. The shuffling is DEFINITELY not ranodm. You are forced into landscape mode which is very unnecessary for the mechanics of this game. Such a simple game, but ruined by poor design choose and a greedy for microtransations.
A fun great but the app keeps freezing on me and I lose the coins I bet when it freezes up. Edit...I reduced stars from 3 stars to only one (1) star. I've tried to play Spades Plus three times today and the game froze each time. I've played this game for years and enjoyed it. If you can't fix this problem I will uninstall your app. Thank you for your time.
The new ads..... Why would you all choose to be like everyone else. The game was perfect, but now you've added ads after each game. I've been here for some time but I will not pay to remove ads nor will I continue to play with ads. If this "bug" isn't fixed I will not play any longer and I will no longer recommend friends to play. Hopefully speaking for everyone!
played this game everyday or close to it for a long time. was enjoying the game until I had a tech problem. invested over 400k in coins during a tournament. had 20 mins left. Watched 4 videos but it wouldn't reward me the coins so I could play one more hand. I ended tourn. 1 spot out of payout. Customer service was 0 help. She didn't even know how many slots they pay out.my 2nd attempt w/ customer service wasn't any better. Said they sent it to the developers. Never heard back. Uninstalled app
Be very careful playing this game! Always take photos/screenshots! Even still, customer support will not properly investigate and admit system errors and glitches on their end. So, please do not spend money buying coins!! Explore other entities. For example, the app Trickster is free. You can play all types of card games with friends, with others, or against the computer for practice. Also, you can customize your settings, like playing with jokers. Less headaches and it is completely free.
I agree with the starting out great and then rigging it to make you lose. Also the fact that in the beginning games a nil is all it takes to win the game is ridiculous. Been playing for years and I thought the game was rigged at first. Now I know for a fact it is. Everytime my coins hit 200k and I'm on big winning streaks I can't win a game to save my life. Every partner regardless of skill level just loses the games for me. Under bidding or dumb nils. Game should be investigated.
This is the best spades game around. Unfortunately the best is still pretty bad. There is a constant of people with good stats who lose on purpose and no way to get them booted. It's nearly impossible to make enough coins to play the higher levels without buying them because you have very little control over who your partner is. If you spend money on this game you'll have to spend a lot if you want to be in the higher levels
I will not make another purchase on this app and will advise friends and family to do the same. The cards are dealt with bias, with better hands going to players on higher levels. There is no way you can with at spades when you are dealt 2 spades each hand. Keep your money. Do not make an in-app purchase. And we don't believe the "cards are dealt by computer" reply.
Pop up ads everywhere!!! Used to be a good game. Don't be fooled by reviews from before this latest "update". And not the ads they say "help the player earn coins". the kind that are unskippable when you click between game modes, or menus, or leave a table. (yes, even if you pay the coins to leave the match) Awesome game that is absolutely trash now. Great Job Guys!
I've played for years, but it's no longer enjoyable. Besides being charged for a subscription that I never received (and NEVER got a response from their support), I also purchased an extra advertised as $20 but was billed for $21.99 + tax. All of the recent changes have me looking for another place to play. UPDATE: Zynga responded to my review but failed to address my claims regarding subscription or payment issue. Nice!!
gimmick, gimmick, gimmick, when you first start this game nearly ten minutes passes before you can even sit down to play a game because of all the props this game forces you to go through. There is no practical way to chat, you can't pick your partners.. this game was ok 10 years ago before it had all the gimmicks. Now after logging on, after the 10 minutes of trying to play I no longer feel like playing anymore. The adds come in full throttle during game play disconnecting you while you play!
This game is unbelievable. The algorithm is designed to make you win initially so you continue using the app initially. at some point though, the game will decide to start targeting you for an incredibly long string of losses due to seemingly impossible strings of bad luck on deals. It's not bad luck. The game intentionally deals hands to pick and choose winners/lovers all in an effort to maximize their earnings. If you don't pay for coins to play, it will deal you garbage on purpose.
I've been playing Spades Plus for YEARS! However, this recent change has seriously diminished the experience. I always used to play solo, but now there's basically no tables available. There used to be tens of tables to choose from, but now only 1 or 4 with high minimums. I'm not sure what the owners did, but you guys ruined Spades Plus. It's utterly ridiculous how you would make changes that would result in the demise of the app. I just don't get it. It's like committing suicide. I'm leaving.
Have been playing this game for years and it has progressively become worse each year that passes. It used to be the best one on the play store. So many features have been taken away and therefore it is not fun to play anymore. And when you start get ahead the algorithm changes and it cause you to lose all of your coins. It has happen way too many times to count. It is now a poop stain of a game. Read all of the reviews if you don't believe me! Keep it up Zynga we all know you don't care.
since the new update, MY GAME IS FREEZING UP ONLY WHEN IT IS MY TURN TO BID; and I'm given a bid of 1. I have to get off the game and get back on and rejoin my game. Also, during gameplay, right around my bid time, the screen is glitching and clearing and resetting. I have reached out for help, & I'm not getting any. I have lost hundreds of thousands of dollars worth the coins over these issues, because it's making me lose the games. please help and fix whatever is going on!
Latest update... GRAPHICS ARE AWFUL. They didn't adjust the timing AND now force a graphics show every time you try to enter any kind of game (the "show" by itself is also retarded and poorly done); which means you get stuck at a table of their choosing with no chance to back out. It also started auto dealing the worst hands I've ever seen religiously. I've been playing for years, DELETED THE APP.
Quit plays for a few but off and on I have been playing over 9 years, invited family and friends to it, I loved it back then and it was a great game to play with my grandmother and husband.. Now the ads have taken over, it sucks cuz this game was the best. With the ads, if it's too long it'll kick you out and have to redo it cuz it expired.
If I could give Zero stars I would. I've used this game since they first started. Now it kicks you out when you're winning. It also freezes often. Finally, it will not let me log in. It keeps saying check my connection but I'm connected to my network and I even tried with my home internet. Plus I'm a paying subscriber. That's why I went from the most expensive to the least expensive.
I have been playing for years but the game clearly manipulates the cars in an effort to get you to purchase more coins. It is obvious that the way they set you up is like to the slots in Vegas.. It has actually taken the fun away and does not offer any rewards unless you are buying.. too much for profit a not enough fun anymore. I will be deleting this game after years and try something more fun friendly and not costs. Especially since they don’t give anything back
It's a rather fun app for spades-lovers. However, I'm convinced there may be an algorithm in place that decreases the chance of you being dealt a valuable hand after you use real money to buy coins. I've noticed that ever since I started buying coins, the probability of me getting a bad hand has increased by a lot. The great majority of my hands are only bound to get me 1-2 tricks now if that. Far too many hands that won't get me a nil nor 1 trick...just stuck in between. Seems fishy.
This game clearly has an algorithm! You can only get so many garbage hands in a row before it starts to make sense. The game keeps you hooked enough, to buy more coins or cash, thinking that you will win eventually! The fact that your wagers coincide with the amount of coins you have, means that if you have a large amount of coins you have to wager high. You wouldn't be able to wager low amounts since that would mean more play time, without having to buy more coins! Pay to win folks!
Wouldve been a 5 star rating all day. Would play this game whenever I had ANY free time, but am no longer interested after this new update. The game constantly freezes, it looks horrible, the distribution is terrible. It was my go to for a long time but now I'm going elsewhere until they fix this glitch or update they're calling it. It was perfect before, have no idea why they ruined it.
